Oh well done Farways dgd.๐๐ป๐๐ป
The rain had cleared by lunchtime yesterday so the Brolly carried to town for dgs dentist was not needed, when I arrived back BIL came and sprayed the wet and forget stuff.
Today looked ok till I washed my bedding drizzly rain since then, hope itโs not headed your way YBE.
Dusty hope all well at your appointment, I am at the jittery stage about mine at the moment and having to have a word with myself. Iโm keeping my fingers crossed I may get 1 white one , if I do I will photograph it.
My forsythia and white rhododendron are in flower as is the Kojo no Mai , thatโs the sign the wind will blow them all off ๐Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5 -

Bit grey and drizzly down here. Haven't seen the sun for the clouds for five days now, much to my seedlings disgust.ย
I presume the peas I put in the ground last week when it was sunny aren't sprouting yet because they're too cold and miserable, just like I am at the moment!ยฃ2023 in 2023 challenge -ย ยฃ17.79 January4 -
Yep, got your rainย wort
It started drizzling as I got back an hour ago and is currently working itself to properly go for it. ย Checking what I wrote this morning theyโre all wrong. Oh the shock. Thems purty flowers though eh, your rhododendron especially and your forsythia puts mine to shame ha haa!ย
Iโll do safety in numbers next yearย pp. I should be able to half inch some gravel from somewhereYou wanna see all the roadworks here, deffo getting it spent up before the next shaking down of the money tree commences. Ahem.ย
I hope all the poorlies are ok. Pull up yer big girl pants (honorary or otherwise) and give yer head a wobble, and get in the fixings queueย
Welcomeย kmn9.ย Fingers crossed for your seedlings, or do you maybe have spares?ยI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
I arrived at the hospital far too early yesterday, so got my camera out and went exploring.
The first flower I saw was this one, which instantly made me think of Bluey's prize specimen!
More later....."Everything's just f.....ine!"6 -
What is it with slugs and daffs..?ย I think I either need to have eleventy squillion of them next year or give up on them entirely. Preference for the former
ย
I've been researching how to get rid of slugs and I've got questions. What are people's experiences with the beer can method? Is beer more effective than lager or cider or what? I think blue sweeties and nematodes etc might come later but my purse would be happier if beer worked...
The birds were singing away this morning when I got up. Not quite full throttle I don't think but we're definitely heading that way. Oh and I think my new bird is a red-capped robin. Took some working out did that cos it isn't something the bird identifier websites give you.
They've given rain today, but they got it wrong yesterday so I've decided the trend will continue and I've got a wash on.ย If it does rain it'll give me chance to sort out my houseplants - some of them are rooting out the bottom of their potsย

My blue sweeties were invested-in some years ago, when they actually worked.
I probably bought about 15 packs, having kept an ear on what was about to happen in the Land of Woke.
As I use so few, they'll see me out. I believe beer works fine too, but it's more fiddly. I've no reason to think the eco sweeties don't work either, but my tests in the polytunnel show something other than slugs eat them.....and I'm not keen to feed the rodents, nice though some may be!
Looks like a dull to piddling day here, so I'll hoover during the latter and hope the slightly brighter forecast for late afternoon happens. No frost in the foreseeable future at least so toms on the conservatory windowsill will be OK.My physio man at the hospital wasn't very happy with me or the state of my knee. He said I must slow down and rest more, or it will never get better. He also implied that doing long walks in rough countryside might become 'difficult,' so I'm glad he's not seen the list I've compiled for the nicer months of '24!ยAnyway, after pulling my legs to see how far they'd bend to all points of the compass, his diagnosis made me feel very sore.ย
I had to reach for the 'special medication' from Scotland when I got home.....hence not appearing here last night!
Anyway, while roaming ferally around the hospital grounds, I spotted this double Camellia, which shows in one photo why people seem to love and hate them in equal measure! You may have to enlarge in a new window to see what I mean!ย"Everything's just f.....ine!"4
