twopenny said:Our walking group, we chose this as easier to walk than the one in the woods we had planned! So you can imagine what the garden looks like. Also watching the cup and saucer feeders being made. I'd like to try that. Though I'd want to use something stronger than BostickGood walk by the look of it.
Saves me posting one of our last foray, which was in the woods and something of a mud-fest.
Your pals have the right footwear; my pal doesn't. We didn't get it to ourselves either, Bluey. Blooming horses really chopped up the surfaces.
Still, it's right healthy to get outside at this time of the year.
Yesterday I managed 45mins standing in the stream, planting foxgloves that had grown in the wrong places. Hopefully, some may flower this June/July.
Cup & saucer feeder needs Araldite and a slight roughen-up of the surfaces.Dry here, rain in an hour, and then it gets colderrrrr!

Dry start, but rain due later, lots of it just getting some strength up over the car less Island, Sark isn't it?There was a series Island Parish which did as advertised, it was following vicars on Islands & Sark was one of those, as were the Scillies, Orkney, Falklands etc. I expect there were fisticuffs in the office when the names were drawn for Antigua.Good spot Dusty, two pigeons, no wonder you spot double flowers with those Hawk EyesI can nearly hear the squelching from your photo 2P, isn't there some saying about no bad weather, just bad clothing? Your pic proves that.No sign of primroses or anything like that around here, but I'm off to the volunteer spot tomorrow, Leaking Rim permitting, so will have a good peer around, and trim back the Car Park roseToday's pic is my macro effort, coleus flowering on my window sill. I'm still trying with the Christmas cactus.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

Lovely flowers when seen up-close like that, Farway. They stand out well on the very dark-leaved varieties, such as :Even thinking about these myself, although we need tough, no-nonsense stuff.Incidentally, if you're thinking of buying from Derry, there may be little snippets of info in the YT videos featuring her from this series. I warn you, it's hardcore, plantaholic material and not Gardeners' World!

Dusty thank you that was wonderful
I have been trying hard to ignore my Special Plants Seeds catalogue for a week and you have made it harder
Step away from the tall flowers and the tender plants, more ideas above my (weather) station
Off topic - cancer in remission yay just need the bone doctor next week to hatch a plan to repair the damage
Plants are sometimes hardier than us humans I think8 -
So good to hear some good news Paspatur
Best wishes for the fixing bit. Usually more positive and some incentive for that.
A friend of mine who couldn't have surgery ate all fresh foods for months with amazing determination and it worked so well with healing.I can't do fancy photos in macro, heck my camera is barely working so to keep on topic on another wet day I'll go for the 'Awful Weather' categoryI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Paspatur, it's great to hear your positive news. I think I've said we have a little one in our family in a similar battle, and now hopefully on the home straight.
Glad you liked the video too, even if many of the plants might not be best suited to your place, or mine! Plenty more where that came from.
I love that photo, 2p. You have such super walks up your way, but realistically we can only reach them in the warmer months, as I don't like driving in the dark and 'work' precludes early starts.I second what you say about fresh food from scratch, and avoiding sugar, too. Not easy tho'!
Mrs Dusty has just shouted, “It's still raining!” Translated, this means, “You'll get wet, letting my hens out for me!”Apparently it brightens-up very soon, but not quite soon enough."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity5 -
Disordered is on my To Do list 2p, still not got round to any of the links and things I wanna read/watch. I'm trying to sort my cv but honestly it's a minefield, every different website tells you something different. I miss the old days *sigh* I'll add Dusty's plant one to the list...
Sark - that was it, thanks Farway. Trying to stop my brain rot by never looking up stuff, but sometimes the answer just doesn't come
Your little macro flowers are beautiful, I love closeups like that. The detail is shows just how delicate they are
Aye horses can make a mess of the place, but their 'leavings' are most welcome for my roses.
That's brilliant news about your remission Pas! :clapping: Fingers crossed the bone doctor will hatch a cunning plan to outwit your ...uhh...enemyMaybe keep your eye on the catalogue in case you see something as a treat...
Love your waterfall 2p, if ever there was a pic that needed a few dogs in it... and some dressed-according-to-the-weather humans. I bet that smells amazing, all mossy and soil-y and lovely
Raining here, stopping in a few minutes (same nonsense as yesterday), then it's calm and windless and maybe a wee bit of sunshine.. No heat though, 5' but feels like 2'. They say. Anyone else use the drunkards app? I notice they've decided to try long range forecasts now too. Maybe it's easier to get stuff right if you can be all vague and woolly about the thing
I'll get a picture of my wee flowers so I know there definitely were there, before next week's cold perishes them.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
Last night the forcast said no rain but had an yellow rain warning all over it. Go figure.
Woke up to blue skies and sunshine but I know better t han to get excited now and there's a grey rain cloud coming over the hill surrounded by white fluffy ones.
I'm out but inside all day though so that is usually a time for it to be nice.
Bluey, I used to have a whole list of buzz words when writing applications and include them in sentances.
There must be an up to date list somewhere on the net.
I remember how I hated writing these things up but I did get 90% of applications I applied for. I was just rubbish at not showing my true feelings at the interview
Good luck.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Blue sky, but cold. It rained so hard yesterday, there surely can't be much left up there?Dustyevsky said:Lovely flowers when seen up-close like that, Farway. Good news Pas, and fresh food helps with everything of course, freshly peeled Quality Street are also fine in moderationChecked over the Volunteer border this morning while I was out, the car damaged fence has been repaired but all the plants in the area have gone, as suspected, the fencers need the space. I'll post a pic of the new gardening opportunity. Seems my buying Russian sage for the space was a good idea after all.
The car park rose did need trimming, so duly done, and waste branches removed to a place of safety in my back gardenOT, went to tyre place about Leaky Rim, diagnosed as my rim is bu66ered, [ooooer missus] detoured via local spare parts recycling emporium [breaker's yard], wheel & tyre for £30, ta!, that'll do me nicely
. All sorted now.

Good news about your car Farway. I used to be able to get spares but my car is so old now it would have to be a specialist place and not the local yard.
Wish it was that easy to get body spares for myself.
Yes when my fence was done they had to remove all sorts and dug so deep I had the clay sub soil on the top. But replanted and everything was ok pretty quickly.
No time for the garden today. I had a look but there's so much blown down, collapsed or rotted I need a day or three to steadily put it right.
There are buds and such showing left and right pigeons flirting and blackies around so it may be an early spring.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
