A bit brighter weather this morning,I did get the sunset pic BTW, but it was not as good when I looked at the image. The eyes see far better than a camera, or more likely the brain adds bits in, like the latest Samsung mobiles
?
2P, is the sled pic that Cornish village where you park at the top & a very steep hill to walk down? Polperro maybe? Oh, just seen Dusty answer, sounds right, it's been years since I was there, but I do remember the car parking and sledges. No proper gardening today, but the Christmas cactus is about to open some belated flowers, so I'll try for a photo laterHere's last night's sunset, edited a bit to make more “sunset” flavoured. Phone wires left in, CBAHawkeye's may spot a pigeonEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens6 -
RAS said:Those look like Black Worcester pears. A very old warden pears that needs cooking for up to 2 hours, sometime after January, depending where you live. Need to check the few I've got in store that I'm hoping to experiment with this spring.Ah, that's interesting! I ended up with 2.... and I still have them. Others fell off in the wind and the sheep had those. We'll give them a go once all the New Year surplus is eaten. Thanks!

There's a car-free island not far from us that has an array of wheelbarrows lined up for locals to transport their shopping and other bits from boat to home
It's been grey and damp here for a few days, so no lovely sunset photos. We are getting a lot of birds in the garden though, including a robin that keeps flying up to my homemade half coconut feeders - wings flapping like mad, he looks like a wee hummingbird...'A watched potato will never chit'...5 -

Maybe @ArbitraryRandom 's gone wandering around the forum, looking for a board where people don't spend all day talking random nonsense
I had a nasty 'cold', so took a break from the screens and when I came back there were hundreds of posts I've just not worked up the energy to go through (but I will, as I'm interested).
But yeah. It's winter - the garden is asleep, and it's too wet for me to enjoy being outside, plus I can't do anything and I'm low key stressing about the rest of the work that needs doing next year and if I'm going to have the cash together in time (I keep spending it on other things!) so I guess I've been avoiding you all a bit by association... it's easier to have an opinion about someone else's problem than mine after all
Sorry. I hope everyone is well and happy and had a lovely festive period/new year. I'll probably be back in a month or so when I'm looking for advice about when to start germinating my seeds on the windowsillI'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.6 -
Guess what? It's raining and grey.I can't post a legitimate photo of a sunset because we haven't had any for weeks! This is the only one that has colourOur walking group, we chose this as easier to walk than the one in the woods we had planned! So you can imagine what the garden looks like.Love that island Poppy! Makes me chuckle but it is very sensible,My neighbours garden has even more primroses, the birds are still around sussing out who's around before staking their claims and it seems one crow and pigeon have now been accepted by the smaller birds.Like the idea of the coconut halves and gave me the idea of hanging them face up for the birds to sit on, either that or it will be a interesting watching them try.I have an old teapot in the garden waiting to hang on the fence as it's supposed to be favoured by robins - which I don't seem to have which is odd. Also watching the cup and saucer feeders being made. I'd like to try that. Though I'd want to use something stronger than Bostick

Hey Arb
Hope your nasty 'cold' shifts soon, doubly miserable to be poorly at this time of year. See you in a month
Thems good eyes you've got Dusty, I spotted one pigeon but only after a search...
That is one soggy walking group 2p, inclement weather means you get the place to yourselves though ehThat was a trick I did when I had dogs - don't dodge the showers, get out in it. Head for the furthest muckiest windiest coldest fields and you'll have them all to yourself. Give the dogs a proper undistracted gallop. Heaven
I love my wee car but car-less islands do sound good. Didn't the wosname brothers that own that island that isn't Jersey ban cars from it? Or there's a tiny limit, 20 in total or something? Sounds alright to me does that. Think how fit you'd be!
It did stay dry yesterday, so it's raining now to make up for it. Phone says it'll stop in 8 minutes but it's been saying that these last 90 minutes at least  The waterlog wants to be subsiding soon or my already unhappy soggy plants might just give in and die on me, and all I'll be left with in that corner is that sprawling neural network of tree roots! Grrrr.
^^^ Look how short! Am learning!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
Not actually raining and they've promised dry but it's blooming cold out there.
And cloudy and dim so not encouraging to do much.
Went to otter gc yesterday but nothing exciting. Sale plants past it. Deep long puddles so we pretty much headed straight to the cafe.
I think I've caught your cold Abs. Straight after the cough that's going the rounds.
So gardening progs I think.
GW is testing out presenters to take over from Monty I think. I'd go for the guy but think they are wanting a woman for woke thing rather than the best. It was very dull.
Oh and bluey, the radio prog Disordered I mentioned is black comedy so unless you have been involved with nhs or job centers it may not be funny but I recognised the humour. Not for everyone perhaps.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
