  • Ooh that's beautiful 2p, does it smell as good as it looks? And have you got a picture of whiskers on kittens to go with it ;)
The moss prog was good, definitely worth a watch, but it wasn't particularly cerebral. I could have had a bit more depth to it and more of the Japanese angle, but it was still good. I agree about the lectures, they do them so well don't they? I'll have a look for The Forest, I do love a forest. If you like quirky how about Only Connect? It's a bbc2 quiz prog but it's a lot of lateral and literal thinking and obscure facts, it really makes you think :)

We're in for desperate weather today, they say. The rain band on the news stretches from you and Dusty straight up to me so you'll get chance of drier weather later. Not sure I'm going far today so I might take the decs down...

It's all frosty again here brr. The moon is blurry though, so I'm guessing it's cloudy up there - will see when it gets lighter. We're forecast 40+mph winds this afternoon with sleet. I'm really not enjoying this weather...

  • Rain's starting here now. I've just checked the weather again and they've completely changed the shape of the line!  Swines.

I'd be sorry if I lost/gave away a 4 man basher, they must be quite rare are they? And don't say "junk pile" Dusty, "carefully managed collection of articles whose use is yet to become apparent". Well that's what I call my junk pile anyway

Dull but still dryish for the moment.
Tempted to go out for some daylight but just cleaned the top of the kitchen cupboards. Grim. Bit of a dodgy job with a back and leg not reliable so adding the unfixed extractor pipe to the list for an odd job man when I find one.

Torrential yesterday and I was out in it, won't go walking where it's dry under trees because of the wind, ditto a beach and moorland is wind and rain!

I watched gardeners world last night but it's so not relevant.
Was hoping to pick up some ideas but female presenters are all giggly and smiley with oh jolly jolly jolly. What is it with that?

The allotment ideas were the good bit. I'll be looking out for those boxes once deliveries start again. I'm a dump corner adict at the builders yards  :)

Bluey Monty did a round the world thing for Japan I think which had gardens of moss. That was good.

Dusty, that post hammer, thought it was the norm as they're still used round here. I saw the fancy one on farm in the dales but he had the ordinary one too.

Farway, my attempt at a Christmas cactus had the same results. I gave it away to someone who was thrilled  >:)

Found a bulb when I was turning out a kitchen drawer! Don't know what it is but I'll plant it and see. Another adventure for this year.

    I bet you can't find a 4-person one on the internet. I can't! :|
It was totally useless to me anyway. You need to be able to lift the thing about 1.65m at a minimum to get it over the top of the shortest stock posts. :p

In a word, 'ratings.' Have they pensioned Carol off yet? Klein, that is, not Vorderman.....she's already been shown the door… ;)
Managed to shop and return to the fold ahead of the rain and winds. Would have been about 30mins quicker, but we have to feed a vegan on Monday and I fell among unfamiliar shelving at the supermarket. :o

Grr did a long post and it all vanished!!!!!
Essentially- forecast keeps changing. Essentially more rain and wind.
Ever changing sky. Thought it was mild when I woke up but I'd left the heating on timer  :|
6c but doesn't feel too bad.

If I painted the fence darker would it make the sky look lighter?

    So yet no gardening.
No garden centre as it's Sunday, NYE and school hols but I'm making a dash for it next week to see if there are any bargains for fruit trees. No idea where I'd put another but thats not the point.

Lots of little birds out this morning pecking at grubs. Hope they get the ones that demolish my cherry tree.
Shame they can't do the same for humans. Everyone seems to have some random bug or another at the moment.
    Hope you're all keeping well.

Chocolate roses for Valentine's in the shops are the only ones today. Easter eggs are too.
They fill the gardening shelves which makes it twice as annoying.
