I love the gnomes and things!

Itrimmed a boring hedge into a dragon. Much more fun to cut. I can't post as the file is to big so need to learn to upsize/downsize them. Then I can change my avatar too.
No weathervane Bluey, cleaned and varnished the brass skink to go on my post and scrubbed the expensive bunny of algae so some 'gardening' done.
Rest of time been chatting to the meter guy. His girlfriend has a night vision camera attached to phone and they have foxes and badgers to watch. Trying tosave an ill one etc. Rescue cats and dogs and all sorts. Been a great chat. Think he's now running an hour late instead of half an hour early
And I've gone off the idea of housework
Debating whether to get on with making my studio and rearranging furniture or, as sunn shining but cold, going for a drive on the moor......
Abs, hope the arm doesn't stay sore. Annoying when you do something to make things better and it starts off making them worse. Hope the hot chocolate works.

I see MSE haven't banned that socially un-PC word (yet!
) so I guess you can still use it, Bluey.
They sure didn't like your Latin on Arb's shed thread, though!
Funnily enough I was examining our crime statistics here a few days ago, and apart from a sudden bout of violence and/or sexual assault, with 2 instances in June, we've scored 'nil points' for the year so far. Remarkable.
Who knows, there might be another sudden spike soon, as today Mrs Dusty and I delivered a letter updating our neighbours on the council's decisions regarding our new farm track. We didn't quite stop at that, though, adding a full run-down on the saga, including our thoughts about their management team's lamentable obduracy. Nothing rude or slanderous, but it wasn't exactly a glowing report! We woz promised bright sunshine by now, but it's still persisting down out there."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Sorry I read it like you’d bought yourself a weathervane for your birthday 2p doh! Here’s my marigolds, just so you can see how happy and cheerful Arb’s ones are!And no I can’t remember what the other thing is, but it’s green and happy so it can stop there.I oppose genocide. I've gotten lost looking into Japanese quince - apparently there's a thornless variety (unlike the one I took a picture of earlier) from Latvia or the Ukraine that grows about a metre cubed and produces large fruit called 'Cido' - just trying to find out if it's as good as it sounds and if it needs a second variety as a pollination partner (and if so what would work).

Could go well near my medlar for a fake cinnamon apple and lemon pieI'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.5 -
I went back to check and re read your posts a few times - still didn't notice anything... think I'm going to have to double check all of my work from today in the morning just to be on the safe side
Interesting info (IMO) on the history of Japanese quince - if anyone's curious: https://eng.lsm.lv/article/society/environment/plant-wonders-latvia-ahead-of-the-pack-in-flowering-quince-cultivation.a384684/I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.4 -

I've gotten lost looking into Japanese quinceYou missed the 'proper' quince. I'll let Bunny explain.....Sadly, we can't grow it.Quince blight is endemic here, hosted by our Medlars, which aren't so badly affected. Also, the horsey lady over the lane has one riddled with it.
We can grow the Japanese one OK, though there's only one, and that's a species I raised from seed. There was another pinky-orange, double cultivar, but it was so awful to behold, I dug it out and...err... burned it.
If I grit my teeth, I might buy the most blight-resistant quince variety, plant it 150m away from the Medlars and see how it goes. It's a risky Christmas present, though! Over £50 and no guarantee it won't succumb. But the fruit, ah, they're something special!Bluey's foxglove might not be pink. I can't see any purplish shading on the leaf stems. Its absence is how I pick out my white or apricot ones, but it's early days.

Indeed I have a,weathervane Bluey. Still in its box
So either you or I have been in the tipple early.
The marigokds made me laugh, but bonus foxgloves....
I tried to make quince jelly once. Wow that's hard going! It is delicious but I tend to keep looking around fetes for some now.
Never knew that's what they are supposed to look like Dusty.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Just remembered I had a video come up on Facebook with 5 ferret siblings and a cat - wow, ferrets are mischievous little things
it was on a link called The Dodo, if you want to mention it to your DD, Dusty.

Arbs marigolds were English, while yours are French - not surprising they can't stand up to the awful weather5
