    Well that's quite some achievement!
Is it only a light and a scratch? Can be fixed. Cheaper than a new car.

No, both lights & wings. If DIY then it would be repairable, but insurance always uses new parts, or at least prices for them, so two headlights + two wings + tons of labour at £80 or more an hour soon takes repairs into write off range
If he was a younger & fitter person, no doubt he could DIY, but he's not.

And I'm not sure how insurance on the car stands if you drive into something, your fault, you pay car damage?
Hopefully one of those things, none here will find out the hard way

  • Yikes! Farway!
Catcha wave and you're sittin on topofa world
  • The rain, or more accurately a soaking wet and cold kitten, woke me up an hour or so ago. Happy Monday :D

Checking the app, should be stopping in the next couple of hours - that will please the builders at least as they finish off/tidy up.

Yesterday I ventured out to plant some bulbs - not sure if any will come up as they looked very dry, but if they do then I'll have some clumps and clusters of bluebells and snow drops. All within a step or two of the path as I was afraid of going ankles up if I tried to get any further into the garden!

  • Pretty iris there Dusty, that's a gorgeous colour.  I wonder if calendar makers prowl the net to steal people's beautiful pics, there are so many on here that I'd happily have on a calendar  Fingers crossed for your rivers when it starts coming down off the hills...

Oh Farway, that's such a shame. A least the fellah was alright though, that's the main thing. Doesn't take much damage to write off a car does it. If the airbag hadn't gone off I'd be getting that one repaired if I could.
I didn't know that about birds going for certain colours of flowers, I wonder why that is? Maybe I should be happy with my burgundy ones then.

Fossils and Love in the Mist pics, can't wait 2p. LitM is one of my faves, I'd have carpets of them if I could  Be interesting to see what appears fossil-wise after Debi has blown over.

You're still getting a good haul from your garden then wellies, when are we all coming round for our dinner? Hopefully your greenhouse can be saved.

Well Debi arrived here a couple of hours ago, just a bit rainy and breezy so far. Desperate this aft they reckon, 55+mph wind gusts, and all gone by dusk-ish. Maybe. The mushrooms don't seem to mind it, I've a few more come up now ha haa!

  • I'd hang that in the hall if someone gave it to me... The frame would even work with my shabby chic vibe :)

I was hoping that picture would be better. It didn't come out anything like as good as the real thing. :/
Round here, conditions test people differently from in the city, but results may be similar. In their mid-80s, people's cars often take on a slightly dog-eared look, until the inevitable happens and they announce they've 'given up driving.' It's a huge wrench, though, in a place with few services, and events miles apart.
As regards that specific car, a 2013 Peugeot 208 with average mileage is worth round £3 — 4k, so it's worth someone buying the written-off car for around £500 and putting it back on the road. Plenty of s/h spares. o:) That's especially true just now, as small cars are in hot demand while larger ones are dropping heavily, particularly diesels for ULEZ reasons.
Debi's a-roaring out there this morning, but the rain's gone. :) I don't care, as it's dentist first thing and my lovely usual lady is away having a baby, so I'm getting 'Damon.' :o
