Is it only a light and a scratch? Can be fixed. Cheaper than a new car.No, both lights & wings. If DIY then it would be repairable, but insurance always uses new parts, or at least prices for them, so two headlights + two wings + tons of labour at £80 or more an hour soon takes repairs into write off rangeIf he was a younger & fitter person, no doubt he could DIY, but he's not.And I'm not sure how insurance on the car stands if you drive into something, your fault, you pay car damage?Hopefully one of those things, none here will find out the hard way

No gardening today, the rain came by 9.30am. I cleared a border yesterday - reminder to self not to ignore creeping jenny - it was like a carpet with difficult to pull out roots
Picked a handful of raspberries, also, chard, a carrot, a leek and some kale for dinner. Spotted a handful of late blackberries but I left them for the wildlife. Evidence the badger is back - several paw sized scrapes in the grass. No sign of fieldfare or redwing yet but they do usually come and strip the holly tree just before Christmas.
@farway, someone bumped my daughters parked car a couple of weeks ago. Rear bumper needed. £75 from the scrap merchant + spray and fitting was £470. It went through insurance and the bumper alone costs £563 + labour + the courtesy car the insurance company insisted she had for 10 days and it soon mounts up. The person who bumped her said she was 'having a laugh and lying for saying £470'
I hope the damage to the plants isn't too bad, this time of year they hopefully have time to recover
@dusty, well done on completing the polytunnel with recycled stuff, just what I like to do. I'm wondering if my Alton wooden greenhouse will move a) if it's worth it b) if it'll withstand the move c) if I'm capable of building a base and rebuilding it like I was 38 years ago when 5 months pregnant! I'd never afford/justify a new one and my 'landlord' doesn't want it or know the value of it, it will be scrapped.

Yikes! Farway!
Catcha wave and you're sittin on topofa world4 -
Farway good grief , how are they let out of the house ! If the driving is like that, poor Iris .
I was unable to make the cenataph due to work but the 2 min silence was observed Sat and Sun, it was pouring with rain and very chilly my family got soaked.
lovely sunrise Dusty suitable for a frame and putting on the wall but lots of the photos you post are.
Rain is currently battering the house and is set for the day I think.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5 -
The rain, or more accurately a soaking wet and cold kitten, woke me up an hour or so ago. Happy Monday
Checking the app, should be stopping in the next couple of hours - that will please the builders at least as they finish off/tidy up.
Yesterday I ventured out to plant some bulbs - not sure if any will come up as they looked very dry, but if they do then I'll have some clumps and clusters of bluebells and snow drops. All within a step or two of the path as I was afraid of going ankles up if I tried to get any further into the garden!I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.3 -
Pretty iris there Dusty, that's a gorgeous colour. I wonder if calendar makers prowl the net to steal people's beautiful pics, there are so many on here that I'd happily have on a calendar
Fingers crossed for your rivers when it starts coming down off the hills...
Oh Farway, that's such a shame. A least the fellah was alright though, that's the main thing. Doesn't take much damage to write off a car does it. If the airbag hadn't gone off I'd be getting that one repaired if I could.
I didn't know that about birds going for certain colours of flowers, I wonder why that is? Maybe I should be happy with my burgundy ones then.
Fossils and Love in the Mist pics, can't wait 2p. LitM is one of my faves, I'd have carpets of them if I couldBe interesting to see what appears fossil-wise after Debi has blown over.
You're still getting a good haul from your garden then wellies, when are we all coming round for our dinner?Hopefully your greenhouse can be saved.
Well Debi arrived here a couple of hours ago, just a bit rainy and breezy so far. Desperate this aft they reckon, 55+mph wind gusts, and all gone by dusk-ish. Maybe. The mushrooms don't seem to mind it, I've a few more come up now ha haa!

Believe it or not, the frame is an 'installation' at Rosemoor. Not exactly level, but what puzzled us was, “Why here?” That was the most interesting angle I could find!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity5 -
I'd hang that in the hall if someone gave it to me... The frame would even work with my shabby chic vibeI'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.4

High winds and it's only going to stop raining when I have to be inside today
So normal then.
When I checked my raspberries that still have a top knot of leaves there's that black sooty mould on the underside. I'll have to look it up but not good.
Never had any of these problems before. Now it's all at once!
The colours have been fantastic on the trees in the inbetween being blown off and soaked so no photos from this year.
Hoping to get down for a river walk before they are all gone and look at the raging torrents.
Wet kitteni like that - from afar .
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I didn't know that about birds going for certain colours of flowers, I wonder why that is? Maybe I should be happy with my burgundy ones then.I was hoping that picture would be better. It didn't come out anything like as good as the real thing.Round here, conditions test people differently from in the city, but results may be similar. In their mid-80s, people's cars often take on a slightly dog-eared look, until the inevitable happens and they announce they've 'given up driving.' It's a huge wrench, though, in a place with few services, and events miles apart. As regards that specific car, a 2013 Peugeot 208 with average mileage is worth round £3 — 4k, so it's worth someone buying the written-off car for around £500 and putting it back on the road. Plenty of s/h spares. That's especially true just now, as small cars are in hot demand while larger ones are dropping heavily, particularly diesels for ULEZ reasons.
Debi's a-roaring out there this morning, but the rain's gone.I don't care, as it's dentist first thing and my lovely usual lady is away having a baby, so I'm getting 'Damon.'
