I think the garden centres may still be open over this Lockdown, although I'm not 100% sure it's worthwhile for them over these cold months?
Probably right given the cafes on site, which for many is the main income in winter, have to be closed or take away

Back in proper official lock down now, just as I was sort of anticipating a masked foray over the next few weeks to find some compost for the season ahead
I may postpone that now & wait until I've had my jab, I'm in the the range for it by mid Feb fingers crossed
I shall continue as before: mask, gloves, spray, gel etc....and I won't buy that bloody awful compost I bought in a panic last March!
I'll maybe have the jab if they offer the Oxford one. I've always wanted to speak posh. o:)

It's been touch and go with many eating places. When I went to a certain place with a certain person before Christmas, it was painfully obvious that social distancing measures had reduced capacity to about 40%, if that.  Christmas 2019 it was rammed

Shall add elocution lessons to my list of possible self employment options to investigate!  :)

Wet morning out, I had hoped to complete final winter prune of an apple today, only one large branch to saw off, but looking like another day now, I need to get it done before the tree wakes up for Spring

Apart from that, no news to report

Your grotty weather is heading our way, Farway, so I doubt if a walk Dearly Beloved and I had planned will happen today. :/ Maybe tomorrow. :)
I've more or less finished the tree thinning I wanted to do, so I'll be turning to our orchard next. I doubt if I'll do anything fancy though; just a big reduction on most of the trees to keep them somewhere within bounds. The fieldfares are still mopping up the last of the weirder varieties we never pick. They seem to be meant for cider, rather than eating or cooking. Had too much cider as a youth!!! :s

    Isn't it ever cold 😏😏❄❄❄

I have relatives in north Devon and in Gloucester and their temps are always colder than us here at sea level, so not too bad i guess, i'm not good in cold weather though, wasn't made for it 😆

That said, dry, bright days are infinitely better than grey, damp, ones !

Real-feel temps the next few mornings at 6am are around -4 ......😬😬🥶🥶 .... enought to make yer teeth chatter ... hell, probably fall out 😬😁

Morning C and all 🐈. Yep, truly nippy here too.  Not looking forward to going outside today, would rather stay toasty under the duvet 😊
Just my opinion, no offence 🐈

Much warmer with us!  Yesterday morning was -6 but we're above zero this morning and no frost on the cars.
EDIT:  Spoke too soon!  Frost came down as daylight came up, as is so often the case!

Really hard frost outside, but at least it's sunny and dry
I managed to finish pruning the apple & the pear tree yesterday, and as a bonus removed the larger figs that will never ripen, fruit is all set for summer now
As a bonus a J Parker catalogue has arrived for a bit of indoor dreaming gardening. I don't want anything but one can never say never
