Well, the dentist chap did his thing and came up with various options., all of them expensive. :/  He had the same name as someone I taught about 30 years ago, but he wasn't him, so the possibility of mates' rates faded pretty quickly.  :'( Anyway, today was just working out feasibility (and fees-ability, as in "Can you pay this huge amount?" :|) and I passed. So, now I have to wait for the call..... :* Even when he's finished, I still have to go back to my regular dentist to get a crown, so it's looking like about £1100 all in. :(
After that great news, I went for a walk by the river, looking for some divine inspiration and, sure enough some watery sunshine shone briefly.....
    Things could be worse! :)

That sounds like the set up with my dentist, go to his specialist for the ground work then back to her for the crown.  I paid £70 for the first consultation. He looked at the x-ray and showed me how close he would be working to the sinus line. I took the hint that it probably wasn't worth the risk and I could live with a gap. So disappointed that I left in haste and reversed into a low bollard which added another £160 onto the bill

Still far too cold for that, but definitely a warmer day today. B)
After breaking the news to Dearly Beloved, I retreated to the garden and opened the small window of opportunity to get a bonfire done before the arrival of  the rain now pattering on my window. :) (Just to clarify, this was a newly made bonfire, not the normal one that's still sitting there because there may be hedgehogs inside it somewhere. o:))

Dave's pattering rain arrived here overnight and looking very soggy outside, at least it will wash some of the cat poo in the border away :s
Apart from that nothing else to report garden wise

  • Rain here too.  I'm used to the cat poo (unfortunately) but I know how gross it is.

Cleared up some chunks of moss that have fallen from the roof onto the drive/back patio but that's about it.  Glad it's milder after that cold period we've had.  Hope that beast from the east rumour is just that... a rumour! 🤞🐈

Another beautifully clear cold day here, after a heavy fall of wet snow yesterday.  Roads are a sea of frozen slush and all the vegetation is collapsing under the weight of snow/ice - I think I'm going to end up with gaps in my Escallonia hedge.  Seems I missed a good show of northern lights last night, must venture out before I turn in tonight if it stays clear.  Starting to get a little envious of the green stuff in Dave's picture, as we've not seen much of that lately!

It drizzled most of today, then the rain became heavier.
I dragged a load of trellis battens into the conservatory, dried them out a bit and set-to making some trellis for our archway. Trouble is, when something's made to fit in the wet, it shrinks later, so you have to allow fixings for it to do that. I got one side  worked out and done, so  the other identical side shouldn't take quite as long. :)
