Well I have no figs. Or plums. Or apples or pears (but maybe apples next year). Or beans. Or strawbs. I’ve nowt really other than a few ripening trusses of toms in the growbag. And my god they were worth it. I’ve just snaffled a couple of the darker ones and I can absolutely see what all the fuss is about over growing your own. Naturally I couldn’t tell you what they are cos I never labelled anything, but if anyone wants seeds I’ll happily share.I watched a few Brand + Dr C videos, I’m not sure there was a particular one referred to here? But I’ve gotta say, much as I’m not keen on the man (and I’m still not) he did make some good points. As did Dr C. So I’ll watch more of them I think. I’ve also listened to your wasp thing 2p, and I loved it - very interesting
The Buster Crabbe ones are next.
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3 -
Dr campbell? Is that Dr John Campbell? I've been watching all through the pandemic. He does the hard work of digging out the facts and you just have to listen.
Mri was brilliant. 45mins of laying still and warm and listening to your favourite music. I can recommend it at times of stress.
Sitting amongst the debris from the hall and bathroom and not kowing who's coming next or when. Boss is in Tenerife. Can't find any fittings I need.
Love reading what's going on here. May go and mow the lawn this late because I'm fed up with looking at it. Rained every day I'm at home but sunny when I'm away.... grrrrrr.
Nothing blooming, looks like I'll have to cut back more raspberry canes as this damp weather is bringing up the rust again.
I cut my box hedge for the first time with the hedge trimmer and its got boc caterpillar or blight - that was 2 days before Monty says 'don't cut the box'
Sheesh.....ever feel you want to curl up in a dark room with a book?
Oh, took my book of herbs to read in the eternal waiting room. David Conway Magic of Herbs. Great reference.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

YoungBlueEyes said:Pieces next and I’ll look for Brand and Dr Campbell. My mystery plant is deffo forget-me-not, I’ve spent all morning pulling up the swines. Jeez but they’re persistent. I’d be happy if my Lamb’s Ears would be so vigorous. I’m gonna pull it out now I think, it’s only taking up goodness that the actual mystery needs.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.4

Don’t worry I totally understood your gfree point! Tbh the ones who don’t need it medically are a nuisance as they choose to ignore it when they feel like it, which makes it more difficult for us who genuinely need it when out eating, as the servers don’t realize the difference. And now there are so many vegans the choice in supermarkets and restaurants seem to lump both together, and whilst I am all for choice I really don’t want my cheese dairy free.😥
on topic I have finally got a couple of hours yesterday afternoon in the garden as the sun was out, and I was off work. The green bin had been emptied and now it’s full again. Heard a rumour that next week is going to be 21 degrees !🤫🤔
My wooden arbour is rotten and started to lean with the weight of plants on it, so will need a think of what to do with it.
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6 -
Yep Dr John Campbell 2p. I watched a few yesterday afternoon and he did talk a lot of sense. It was kinda dispiriting though - why can't he say these things out loud? (iyswim) Why is it on a yootoob channel where fewer people will see it, just because it's not the view of the msm. Answered my own question there I think. He didn't say anything outrageous on the ones I watched, it was calm, fact-based conversation. When did we stop accepting that we can disagree with each other? Or that other people's opinions might slot right into yours? Or that the other person might hold opposing views to you and it won't kill you to sit and listen and consider them? And it'll not kill you either if you change your mind a wee bit! Best stop there *ahem*
So my possibly cherry pip wants cold to germinate does it Arb? I've got it sat in the front (SE facing) windowI don't mind it taking months if it's something worth waiting for. I'm gonna end up with nothing but a tom forest and a cherry orchard, I just know it. (Actually that's a thought. If I get banned for saying ....things..... I'll come back as Anton Chekhov
)
2p are the workmen not bringing the required fittings with them? Are you looking for something rare/special? Your mri sounds just the ticket, I wonder if Santa would fetch me one?I hope the results are good news
Is your arbour rotting away entirely or rotting from the bottom up wort? Could it be shored up or is it passed that now?
OT More of the same here. Sunny and cool and dewy and autumnal and lovelyDid everyone see the moon last night? It rose before bedtime so I saw it but I couldn’t get a decent pic for love nor money. I always look forward to the shots they put on the news
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3 -
Tipping down right now, but see the moon last night, but it was nothing special IMO, maybe I was too late to get size perspective? Anyway, it's hissing down now so zero gardening contemplated. The garden waste bin was not collected yesterday despite the promises, I was gearing up to write a polite moan e-mail after breakfast, when the devil's sneaked up & emptied it, just a good job I went out to check my facts before I put fingers on the keyboardNow I can refill it, but not todayBlue, your cherry pip, the best place for it would be outside where the weather can get at it, and you'll remember what it is. Just be warned, it may be a big disappointment if it ever grows up, with tiny sour cherries not the big lush ones found in shops. Birds will love it thoughGood for experience, but not if space is tight & you want guaranteed resultsNice tasty results on your own toms, BTW, it does make it worthwhile even if not exactly saving moneyWort, your arbour, could you ponder on growing one if it's just shelter or ornamental you want?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

So long as you don't return as Anton Du Beke, or Ant n' Dec!As for Chekov, well, you have the pip, but a Cherry Orchard might be quicker with some bare root maidens!
Edit:In answer to your question above, 23rd March 2020, or thereabouts. It was precisely that which made me think, “Ullo, zummat's up!”I think you're being very calm about the bathroom fittings 2p. Been there, done that, several times. Real builders' merchants can sometimes come up trumps with those awkward fittings.I was concreting round the hoops on one side of the polytunnel today, but they were under 3" water when I last looked. Maybe it's an opportunity to pay bills and look at the schedule for the Garden Club show. Goodness knows what we'll have for that!Cool day, so Cool Garden photo. Hope I didn't post it before...

Yep I’m a committed tom grower now. The first ones I ate were quite nice, better than the shops but the grow bag ones - oh my god
yummy yum yum!
Thanks for the date Dusty, I’ll look that one up. I only saw more recent ones (I think, it auto-played a few), poss up to a year old?My mysteries are outside now. #Shawshank. I’ve marked the pots so I know which is the prob cherry and which is the grey poss cherry. I’ll do updates so yous can ID them. Even if they turn into something sour that’s just for the birds I’m ok with that. I’m more about experience and making mistakes and learning. I’m pleased that quite a lot of it is going in, to my surprise!Too hot out there for me this morning but I’ve sorted out the front and planted the cyclamen. When I’d de-weeded I found a load of diddy wee bulbs sprouted, well god knows what they are for I didn’t plant them. Time will tell. Again.I didn’t think the moon last night was spectacular either, but then I’m forever looking at the moon cos I do love it. I was about 5 hours before the peak but I couldn’t have stayed up all that long. The pics I got could honestly have been a mediocre sunrise
I just had to look up who anton du beke is ha haa! I never minded Ant-or-Dec, so we’ll call that plan bI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3 -

It was in answer to your series of questions covering intolerance, shutting down of debate, censorship etc.The video was 2 days ago, or thereabouts. Its a general retrospect.Cheering up here, but we're not to get excited, especially at 16c.
Tomorrow, more sun, but not entirely dry.
