Great capture D, gorgeous sight 😍
🌲🌲 Merry Christmas to all the 'gardening' peeps here - and others that just read and listen to all our chunterings and mutterings as we womble, potter, and bimble about 😆
Enjoy the rest of the Christmas period, we have longer hours day by day, winter and early spring plants to enjoy, and each other to see and talk to via whatever method allows 🙂
On that note, folks, i am going to say that i'm taking a break from posting for a while, i'm spending too long on the internet these days and need to cut it right back, i will endeavour to wean myself off over the next couple of days whereby i'll read through the money section and that will be my lot.
See you upon my return 😊😋3 -
Take care C, hope to hear from you again soon 🤗❤️Just my opinion, no offence 🐈2

Dull day outside and awaiting tonight's arrival of Storm Bella. Now I'm in T4 not supposed to go anywhere except grocery shopping. There's a joyous thought to take me through to summerBye C, enjoy the lurking

I think we're in Tier 2 still, but to be blunt, I'm no longer following the pronouncements from Fear HQ.We might go for a walk later, but the weather odds aren't good. If we do, there will be more chance of a tree falling on us than catching anything from other hardy souls trying to stay fit and sane in this increasingly dystopian world.2

See you upon my return 😊😋If you've people to spend time with in the real world, I agree, cherish them above us virtual folks. The problem in our rural situation is that folks have spent way too much time locked away indoors, the clubs have stopped functioning and both pubs are permanently closed. We have only seen some local people this year on Zoom meetings!

Hi C, enjoy your wombling etc. Let us know how you are getting on when you are ready to come back.
We are still in T2 but I don't think it will be long before complete lockdown descends on us again. I feel so sorry for the lorry drivers stuck in Kent, especially if Storm Bella disrupts Channel crossings.
Walked up to the allotment today, it was good to get out after lounging about all day yesterday. I just cleaned and refilled the bird feeder. They don't seem to like the T'sco seeds but the meal worms and suet balls had all gone.

Rather rough out there last night! I see from one of the local river cams that we have flooding in the large valley near here this morning:

Storm Bella went through last night, it was howling and pouring when I got up at 4, but now the sun's out & blue sky you'd never know apart from the soggy groundOnly gardening related item today is a Christmas Cactus flower has openedI have three plants , all from same parent and it is noticeable how the flowering varies depending upon location of the plant, fairly obvious I guess but until seen not something I was really aware ofEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Hi guys, had the storm here too, blimey wind and horizontal rain was frightening. At one point thought the windows would blow right through! Expected to find lots of debris around the house (visions of Dorothy in the wizard of Oz) but luckily only a few twiggy branches and a blown over bird feeder.
Do you have much growing in the allotment atm am?
I wonder what your little chocolate stream looked like last night D 😲
What colour is your Christmas cacti F? Must be lovely to have some colour in the house 😊Just my opinion, no offence 🐈1 -
Black_Cat2 said:I wonder what your little chocolate stream looked like last night D 😲Not sure. It was quite brown this morning, but much of the disturbed earth in the fields will have run off now and already settled at the bottom of the slope in pools, making the chocolate effect less strong now. Every few years they dig out the soil that's settled in the lower parts of the fields and spread it out again at the top. It's a terrible way to farm. Our youngest and her husband were in a caravan at the bottom of the garden last night and they said it was like being in rough seas on a ship!
They still slept. It was a rough old night, but no worse than we have several times most winters.
Anyway, the gannets have all gone back to their homes now, having eaten everything in sight and consumed most of the beer! 'Tis suddenly very quiet.....2
