Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Todays weather is the very thing i loathe about English winters, dreary, grey, drizzly, and although 13C out i feel cold - i'm sure it's the just the look of the bl@@dy greyness that makes me feel cold ☹ ☹
Pretty certain i'm suffering from SAD 🙄🤨3 -

It's a great pic G, heron is pretty well blending in there. Tell me, is it hard work looking after your 'small estate' there in the background? 😹

It does look very useful to me, just think what you could get in the back there, the imagination runs riot.
I love watching it laying its hay eggs. If only the hens could do them two at a time!2 -

If only the hens could do them two at a time!Yes, if it was in that particular spot today it would be down to the wheel rims in mud!I got up early today and went to the seaside to do the shopping. It was raining there too, but very mild indeed. I noticed several men in tee shirts and shorts in Morrisons, but I suppose that's more of a thing on the coast. After yesterday's debacle and pleas not to panic buy, I expected the place to be rammed and have trouble parking the van, which is 20' long. Instead, I was able to sail into a tandem parking spot and go straight in. Even the petrol pumps had spaces and there was still a fair choice in the bog roll aisle.I should have remembered, people here don't panic or go crazy at Christmas like they used to where we lived before.

Happy New Year! Yes, the longest day has passed and the new year starts as the sun will now get higher in the sky pdq making days brighter. Even if it's still wet and cold we should begin to get rid of the dark. It's wet. I've given up going out to bring the fairy lights in to dry off. They can sit there hardly working. No one is out to see them anyway.Went for a group walk this morning. I wore wellies instead of walking boots and feel slightly smug that I didn't get muddy shoes or trousers as the rest. Good call.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I'm going for a group walk/paddle tomorrow and think I might follow twopenny's suggestion about footwear.
My afternoon jaunt today resulted in muddy and wet trousers, muddy and wet outdoor shoes, wet gloves, wet hat, wet scarf, wet coat, wet mask, wet and steamed up glasses, wet hankie and wet stick. Now all my outdoor kit is hanging in the hall making condensation on the window. Bl**dy weather!2 -

Britain's suicide rate is actually quite low compared with many nations, but still double that of sunny Greece. No doubt all the plate smashing there helps relieve frustrations and has the added bonus of no washing-up as well.3 -
It can be hard to keep your spirits up during these cold, wet months and that's where the garden is a godsend - when we can get out there ofc 😊. I wonder if the suicide rate has rocketed worldwide with the Covid crisis? Wow, getting a bit morbid here 😲
Walking in the wet doesn't sound like fun but at least (like tp says) we are heading towards brighter days. Drying out clothes, washing off muddy boots etc, yes the fun!
Still hasn't stopped raining here so just spuddling about indoors waiting for a break in the weather to do some more tidying up outside ☔Just my opinion, no offence 🐈2 -
