Awful weather - typical Brits talk

I'll tune into that Bluey, I was just about to sit down to a very late lunch and looking for something when I saw your postI'm fed up with the identical brick houses crossing fields everywhere here. No trees, nothing growing up them it's gloomy. My only chuckle was when i found that some new owners were selling up after a year. Seems living on a farm wasn't what they thought and every year they can't have their windows open for the smell of muck spreading

In which case I can recommend the prog that was on before it at 12. About why the NHS is on it's erse, but in black humour sort of vein. Drs Adam Kay and Phil Hammond (struck off doctors and their part in it's downfall). V goodI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3

Really raining now, save me wondering about going up to volunteer spot to water the pots tomorrow, no longer needed after this lotI never knew there was a forum home page, do I get a certificate, medal or a cup?pink_poppy said:The latest forum home page has given Farway a name check with a lovely lily pic 😁Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3

Anyone else hear World at One on R4? Barratts talking about not building so many houses next year because they can't whack great big chunks of profit on the asking prices anymore something about building control vs planning people vs council something or other. So it seems like I got my wish! I might start taking requests ha haa
Actually here's my first request - £2 blush noisettes, are you gonna give us a clue..?Be careful what you wish for!No time now, but I think the rose picture was one of the highlights on the Home page, which seem to come and go. It was one of 2p's bargains, now long gone. Still hoovering, but rain has ceased and we'll be out there soon, putting up a gazebo!

Here you go Farway 🏆
Meanwhile, I’m away for one night and this happens... it wasn’t that colour yesterday 😁🍅

Ooh pp are you all giddy about it? I would be ha haa! I have a few fruits but no colour, yet.Aww Dusty I thought you were gonna tell us where to get one of them roses for £2
Fingers crossed for your Boysenberry. I saw your lily on the home page Farway, deservedly so cos it’s a cracking pic. I never see the home page, I have one window for mse and a tab for each board I like. I expect that’s not how you’re meant to do it but I find everything else too clunky. Actually I’m finding a lot of the things on here user unfriendly since the “improvement”.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
Oh hang on, they’re still working on things - the ‘quote/thanks/report’ have had a shuffle, and there’s a link under the comment box to go back to the top of the page. That’s betterI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3

It's raining here again
so gazebo is still in its bag, but the marquee thing from yesterday appears to still be there after the wind test! This was yesterday.....
Note long grass on RH side, which contains seed of cowslips for distribution elsewhere.

Awful weather today. Gusty and pelting rain all day, not that we really need it at this point because we've only had one dry day since the 9th. The dogs have been laying about looking at it with an air of frustration from the newer dog, and resignation from the original dog. So glad I made good progress in cutting back the rambling rose yesterday. I'm living on top of a hill and the wind has caused much damage over the years, and it's first hitting point is the Rambling Rector!
My cucumbers are almost ready to start picking (they've got the length but not the width 😉) looks like quite a few coming (sorry AR!) Lots of green toms but no hint of red. Had some Cobra frenchies, and courgettes.
You must have a very big spread, Dusty to sport big marquees and such like. Fingers crossed for better weather for you tomorrow, but I suspect you'll get it wet and rough like I have today.
The quite new purple sprouting are horizontal with the wind.
The salient point of the water debacle is that if the water is metered it matters not how much land you have. A simple fact that the water boss seems to have overlooked. If anyone wants to charge me by the square yard of land I have rather than how much water I actually use, well then they can come take out my meter! No, it'll never happen, but I mentioned it because the person is a High-Up in the country's biggest water supplier (side stepped across from Ofwat, no less) god help us!

I always put canes behind my Purple Sprouting Gorsebush. So come the winter gales when they are in full leaf they have support. 3 canes for a really big one, it needed scaffolding! But my plants are still no more than 6". The heat got to them.So been out and tied up the runner tendrils that were on a space mission. Looks like I may have beans.Pruned the wispy plum growth. It needs a bit of a thin out at the ends of the branches. I'd swear it isn't a dwarf. The Bramley just keeps going up and not out despite pruning but it's producing fruit so like the plum I think I'll just cope with it as it is and be grateful. The cherry has got another dead branch. I'm not sure these pixie rootstocks are worth it. The small apple had endless probs.Popped in the last of the veg and it has to do or die. A mess of a plot but can't afford waste. The darling birds have stripped my ripe raspberries. Can't net because of the wind. I'm going to have to make a cage I'm thinking. So another building project I don't have time for.The rain has looked the right stuff and there's been a long session but it still hasn't done more than dampen, still its' better than no rain.PS I meant to mention, I've got a sunflower coming up in a pot. Not unusual you may think but it's the pot I chucked put all the compost in from old pots for reuse. Looking very healthy and also a little sweet pea beside it. always good to have a bonus
