Just popping in briefly and will need to catch up later.
Has anyone seen the ‘awful weather’ name check on the forum home page?? Oopsy daisy with I’m guessing a pic of Dusty’s daisies he posted a few days ago??
I’m using a chrome book.

Yes... and edwink's chook pic is also there! There's plenty of beautiful pics for the forum chaps to choose from thanks to you lovely guys 🥰
I feel a picture book is in the offing... 😺Just my opinion, no offence 🐈4 -
-taff said:Dusty, you make it sound so relaxing to go for a walk of 3 plus miles...I'd be hanging after a half mile. I wish I did like walking more, it would definitely keep me occupied...and fitter. The trick is finding someone to go at your pace, and with whom you're in tune with mentally. However, if that's difficult, you could join a group where you won't have to stay with one person, or even keep pace with the majority.Walking is more than just getting fit, but it's very hard to put into words what the mental benefits are when really 'into' it. On one level, it's about exploring what's around the next corner and using observational skills, but it's very uplifting to be surrounded by nature; lots of people say that. There's also a sense of achievement by beating little physical challenges, especially for people of 'mature' years! As we sometimes say to each other, (we go back over 60 years) "Not dead yet!"Four out of five scientists agree with those who pay for their research.5

Oooh, love the pic Dusty, I don't recognise the plant, but I know I'd love it somewhereWeather here is as nice as it can beActually it's not, it's dull & windy but thought I'd sneak Carol K in for any oldies readingNothing planned for today, well it was planned, but last night's chicken balti pie has caused me to keep within easy reach of the plumbing facilities at Farway TowersHopefully normal service will return for tomorrowPS, I see the knitting has become a fern leafEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4

Good luck with the Delhi belly, Farway!
Taf, yes, it was supposed to be grass cuttings, but due to weeks of drought twas a very scrappy mix. Happily it's all rotted down nicely now.
Today I was going to make a start on that incorrigible garden thug, Rambling Rector. It's, tall, it's long, and very, very strong. Ten years ago I foolishly planted it to grow up one of my boundary fences. Big mistake! Now I spend half my life cutting it back. The bees do love it though, and for a few weeks it looks and smells fantastic. It also provides a lot of privacy. I actually doubled down on the foolishness by planting a jasmine adjacent to it 🤦 and the two bullies are slugging it out, and I'm in the middle trying to control them.
According to yesterday's Telegraph, the new acting co head of Thames Water has said that maybe people with large gardens should pay more for water. Unpack that, and wonder at the "quality" of those in charge!6 -
My shoulders have dropped a few inches already, honestly I can’t tell you the difference in the atmosphere here 😃 I’ll be sleeping the sleep of the dead tonight, that’s for sure!Yep now after the cameras I hope they’re on the radar, and fingers crossed it’s the same department. Good news on your pause too Dusty, sounds like you’ll eventually come good eh!Where did you spot 2p’s rose for £2, I fancy one of them meself (the blush noisette I mean).Good luck with your innards Farway, never nice isn’t that. Mind at least you know you’ve had a proper clear out by the end of it ha haa!
Rambling Rector sounds lovely Gorse but I think I’ll pass, I’ve enough on with bindweed, mares tails, and common vetch
I prefer the fern to the knitting, much better. Off to check out the other pics now…I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
Then don't plant New Dawn Gorse. 3yrs and I'm hacking it back!
Indeed I'd like another blush noisette. £2 would be great.
Farway, you'd pay a fortune for a colonic irrigation. You got yours for free
Hope you feel better soon.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

Finally got back from my work trip - no idea what the weather's been like because I don't feel like I've seen the outside all week!
I've opened up all the windows and checked the garden is still there, but I'm heading for an early night soon so will do a proper check tomorrow. Hope all are wellI'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.3 -
Sorry your Balti was faulti, Farway.
I also had a curry last night. No ill effects, but then I've been a curry addict since my teens, and the sauce was fairly mild in deference to other delicate palates sharing the meal.
The week's exertions finally got to me by lunchtime today, so I had 2 hours sleep and resumed work at 4pm. By then, the ride-on had been returned, so I was able to carve out 10 parking spaces and a track around the mini-wood, fields, orchard etc that no one will walk along due to Saturday’s weather being wet and windy.I suppose it could have been worse, Gorsebush; you might have planted rose 'Kiftsgate,' which has a potential length of up to 70'! A friend rambled one of those through a very large and old apple tree, then had to have bespoke iron supports made for the tree. It was a lovely sight, but not very practical.Definitely some nasty weather coming in from the west now, though I got the chickens into bed while it was still dry and calm. About 12 hours of rain is expected.
