Another one nipping in before the upgrade.
I couldn’t see the Solomon’s Seal, Dusty, or was that your point?!
Welcome Gorsebush, I’m another one who loves gorse. We had a brilliant year for it this year - it was everywhere.
I’m envious of your goosegogs and blackberries, Farway. Yum 😋
So glad you’ve finally had a good downpour, twopenny.
More thundery showers forecast here today - they’ve been forecast on and off for at least two weeks but I’ve yet to hear a rumble in that time...'A watched potato will never chit'...3 -

No bathroom! Just teeny tiny ensuite and I've only had one offer to do it and it's an estimate
but he's recommended and can come in a month.
Car reliable company, it will be his grandmother+another lady who's given up. Having a scratch fixed........just hope it wasn't so bad that's what made her give up! Being in a rural area there isn't the competition so it's take what you can get/afford. I guess I should wait and keep looking but I don't fancy traipsing round in the winter. Would rather get it done. It's too wet to get out to the garden and start 'pruning' back but the forsythia cuttings that rooted have some caterpiller or other so that can be relocatedOn the up side I've managed to get the indoor orchids to rebloomSo chuffed though they've been in a tray in the living room which has made it smell slightly musty.
Can't have everything........Another little joy is the white hydranga has gone a beautiful delicate pink with the droughtand the old roses smell beautiful even if they don't last long - Blush Noisette. Evergreen and blooms through the year.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Evergreen and blooms through the year. There's always an up-side..The trick is seeing it, but you're good at that. For us, the up-side this morning was the rain holding off long enough to get a border re-vamped. Having Mrs Dusty back, directing things in the garden, is another plus for me. I'm not much of a designer!

Back again, just checking after upgrade, and some rain arrived but not enough to do any goodGood orchid news 2P, not a plant I've grown, but I can admire themEmoji testNo new onesEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Checking in too.........wow that's cluttered and in your face when used on a laptop!Lots of stuff that seems unnecessary and a blooming great red cross over every post you're reading. Glad I'm not new to the site or I wouldn't have stayed. Perhaps it's brilliant on a phone.Been out to do stuff then headed for the moors to chill out. The heather still isn't really showing it's colours but with the rain and a bit of sun it should come good. Ate a few Worts which are ripening now. Wonder if you can make a cordial out of them? Full of vit c and anti oxidents.Took some photos of a massive tree in bloom but wrong time of day. So just for the test here's what I was looking at from my sofa one eveningSeems not to mind the prickles!

Looks OK on my desktop, but the font seems huge when typing. Let's try an emoji from elsewhere....
Hmmm, somewhat large too!
We had a couple of sharp showers this afternoon, but the stream isn't running, so all this water is still soaking in, not running off into the poor wee river."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity5 -
Well I've made it through, but I'm not sure I like it. What's with the knitting nonsense at the top of the page? And why is the writing so pale? I don't like the extra bits on the right hand side either but I've shrunk my window and they've gone so that's one thing. They didn't give us any new emojis either. Mind better that than those wee black things that I could never make out!
I can't remember all the posts I've just read eitherI'm glad you got some good rain 2p, it sure is better than a watering can. I agree about the order to do stuff - heating first while you've got chance of a gas man being quieter cos it's summer, then car, then bathroom. Nothing for ages then all at once eh.
Your goosegogs Farway, are they really sticky? My sunflower bush was kind tacky all over, and the windowsill was too. I don't know what it was but I had hell of a job getting it off.
Lovely and cool and cloudy here now. It was beautiful first thing thought, good sunshine and fishbone clouds. HeavenIt's forecast showers and longer spells of rain today so I've got all my towels on a boil wash
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -

I'd guess the knitting represents a bunch of 'practical skills,' for want of a better term, under which gardening is also seen to fall. Maybe they'll rotate the images they've selected, or maybe it's just a glitch. It's obvious they've simply plonked all the existing Forum into this new format, so it's likely they'll now start tweaking it.
For example, 'Debate House Prices and the Economy' is still here. That died in 2020 with the extra pressures Covid presented. (Official explanation) My guess is it will quietly be removed, because it was controversial and exchanges were often heated. In the new Forum, some kinds of serious debate are actively discouraged under the banner of this being a happy, friendly and 'safe' place, where no one should be offended or upset by reading views outside mainstream parameters.Forums evolve, and that's the way this one's going. Look at how it's funded, and no one should be surprised. I'm here because I like connecting with other humans who appreciate the natural world as much as me, but where I am at other times is very different. I don't mean the dark web; just places where ideas and explanations range a little further than are allowed here or BBC Breakfast Time. In short, there's more to life than getting a free packet of seeds or few quid off your car insurance! Look at nature, and to me, it's blooming obvious there's a spiritual thing going on, but that's veering into religion and you won't find much of that here. Too controversial! And with that rant over, here's a calming picture of some Astilbes and a lake at Marwood. The geese are heading for the spot where they tried to block our walk, or did we invade their personal space? There's always more than one way to look at things!

Hi Bluey, don't know what your using but it's better to read turning the gadget longwise.
Trouble is then the keyboard is smaller for delicate fingers.
Perhaps they are after the youngsters.
Thought i could get out and do some of the nasty jobs today but it's grizzling out there. Neither wet nor dry.
Stuck at home as physio appt is middle of the day.
My neighbour keeps buying me plants for taking her out for drives on the moors when i go. Won't stop. I'm over run!
Yellow lilly and an indoor plant I've already got. The lilly needs planting and I've no space.
I'm going to drop a hint about changing to marmalade or something.
