Awful weather - typical Brits talk

I agree with your rant there Dusty. I'm on another forum where you can talk about stuff, and as long as it's not illegal/threatening etc it's fine. Love your pic, that sorta thing makes my heart smile
2p I'm on my laptop in the mornings then my phone if I'm on again throughout the day. I've seen someone comment on another thread that it's brilliant on a phone... I'll find out later. I need to start looking for a new laptop cos my one is trying to die on me. Whatever wires (?) connect the 2 halves are on their way out so my screen flickers at random and then goes full white, and cures itself for absolutely no reason at all. Grrr. I'm not good with tech tho so I'm putting it off as long as I can
Maybe invite your neighbour round for a brew so she can see you're stacked to the gills, then mention that you do so love good marmalade.. or lime curdha haa!
Edit - as for your goose conundrum, you could try my mantra. If you're (wee bugs/spiders/woodlice etc) are in my house then it's my territory and my rules and I'm allowed to kill you. If I'm outside then I'm in your world and it's your rules. So you were in the geeses territory, imoI had a hen who could count her own eggs - she was a mathemachicken.3 -

So you were in the geeses territory, imoAh, but we paid to get in and they didn't! They also attacked us physically, albeit not effectively. Fortunately, my companion's country-bred, so wasn't much bothered by being pecked.
Anyway, by sitting down close by and behaving in a non-threatening way, we found co-existence possible. That's the lesson there, I think.
Good marmalade is hard to come by, and definitely a perfect gift as a 'thank you.'

The woman on the desk (it used to be an honesty box in the wall) didn't even offer an OAP concession, (we're both over 70) but I spotted it.
Didn't know whether to take that as a complement or an accidental omission. However, when I saw the toilets were now 'lavatories,' I knew pretty much where we stood.

So I have adblock plus installed on my browser and I went on a little spree of blocking elements on the page and now I have a much cleaner look with no added on bits especially that annoying menu at the top that kept covering the page if I so much as wafted my mouse at it. Just sayin'

Thanks @-taff - I don't have Adblock plus just the standard version, but I now know a lot more about it! I hate that kind of dropdown menu, but in the process of attempting to block it managed to remove the whole menu bar at the top, and had to explore somewhat to restore it... Will try some more later - it's definitely a bit in-your-face, and surely we weren't up to 518 pages in the old format? - takes up more space, like all these newfangled mobile-friendly webpages.... What I was hoping would appear would be a means to search within a thread but no such thing that I can see
...
OT - there is some sun outside now, but we are promised yet more thunderstorms at 1 - will await with interest to see whether they dematerialise like (most of) the others...3 -
I've got Ad-Block Ultimate, not that I'm boasting or anything.I've also got a woman telling me my window of opportunity may be closing soon.
I refer to the possibility of cutting another lawn, of course, so I'd better get on with it!

Actually I realised I do have AdBlock Plus, just not plus plus, enhanced or upgraded or whatever... Ditto to the getting on with things!

Yesterday was intermittent rain but I managed to plant out the chard and two sweet potatoes [ haven't grown them before], the one kale plant is under netting, do a bit of tidying of the nerve center of potting table operations, reduce the number of pots hanging around, pot on the aubergines and take another twenty or so rosemary cuttings after trimming it down a bit. I'm going to take some more in the hopes that at least one survives. I just cannot get the hang of it at all despite following instructions slavishly. Olivia the olive tree [my sister named her] seems well so far but I'm reserving judgement on that for a few months. Green bin day tomorrow and it's full so huzzah...I have to pay for that so I'm happy to be actually using it.I also got my angle grinder out and took the bottom off a metal basket to put around the cat mint so the cats don't sit on it and love it to death. All self seeded borage is going nuts so I have to keep pulling bits up and I found some of the posh grass has self seeded too so up some of that came to grow on in pots. the cats prefer eating that to normal grass. You know the drill, 'I love this [retch] grass [retch]. It's so [retch] tasty'...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi6
