I can't explain more here, and if I did, it would be boring. It's a wider issue best addressed by asking yourself if dealings with public servants of all kinds were easier in the recent past. I know I could have sorted all this with one phone call 5 years ago.Back in the real world, today looks to have a good breeze and it's a return to Factor 50."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Farway said:Another warm day ahead so thought I'd crack on before it got too hot in the conservatory, the white fly have started their annual hols on my tomato leaves, rummaged for last year's expensive but works spray and have given them all a squirt, I'll repeat this weekend. It did keep the blighters at bay last yearGood to hear Mrs Dusty is now able to get on with her "jobs" and long may it continue
She, too, knows how to bump off whitefly. On the chillies, they went down like ninepins after she used her internet inspired fatty acid spray.....closely followed a few days later by all the leaves!

Well, it's sunny here with great big fluffy clouds so obviously I wil spending it in the garden for a bit..I have an acquired trug planter thing [ free!] to repair or rather, shore up a bit and then paint it black with the reamins of the fence paint. Future lettuce will be ecstatic in their new home and the compost bags will have a new use as a liner. Better get my staple gun out too...See you later this evening

Might have to have dealings with public servants meself soon. Maybe. They've started work on the beautiful old school that we back on to, and unless my squiggly brain is remembering the plans wrong, they're just doing as they please with it. I need to learn about planning things, and how/why they can change. I'll nip into the library/customer service center when I'm out food shopping cos I've had no luck online. Anyway.
Cool breeze and misty here first thing. I was up showered and out for a good long walk and it was lovelyThere's no-one around that early here so it feels like you have the whole world to yourself
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
Blimey I'm glad this is online! I'm still drinking tea, drowsey and looking at the garden. Too many veg plants and not enough space.
White cloud, perfect temperature for getting things done and it rained overnight. Good start.
Hope it stays like this because i have table tennis, swimming and lunch on the beach boardwalk this morning.
Love a bit of research for a cause. Very satisfying when you find you have the knowledge. I've always thought books are better. You see more than what you've asked for while going through them so often pick up just the thing. Good luck. Perhaps you'll have good neighbours at the school.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I woke up to an almighty banging this morning.
I apparently left the back lounge window open (the garden gate is locked so I'm not careful with it) and a blasted seagull let itself in at some point before trying to exit through the (closed) kitchen window.
Thankfully I can't find masses of poo anywhere, which is what happened last time a seagull got in then panicked at not being able to get out. They're a damn nuisance this time of year.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.5 -
YoungBlueEyes said:Might have to have dealings with public servants meself soon.I have to be careful how I phrase this, but it's my belief things changed rapidly a few years ago as the result of psychological pressures which lowered millions of people's expectations. For example, it's now much less likely you'll actually meet your doctor if you make an e-consult request. And you certainly won't want to go to A&E unless you're desperate.Similarly, if people walk into the planning office, they may not now think it odd that no one will engage with them meaningfully. That would be 'experts' giving valuable 1:1 advice, which must now be paid for, preferably with an appointment. Indeed, it's 'best' on-line without any human contact at all.....More 'convenient.'Misty, moisty first thing and now cloudy, so we should get some work done today. I'm planting-out the rest of the toms in a deep bed. We're suddenly self-sufficient in courgettes, lettuce and mizuna.

Quite sunny & warm here, out feeding & watering the front pots first thing, interrupted by 'phone call from Dr, e consult, was "booked" for C0930, so he was hour early, and now I have appointment face to face this afternoon, which proves nothing really, except my Practice has always been good and is more like wot fings used to beNothing serious with me BTW, apart from everything conking outHope you get to the bottom of the plans YBE, trouble is they can get changed without a lot of fanfare once the original shouting dies down. The local shopping precinct has undergone umpteen super plans, car parks, flats, student housing, cinemas, all have come & gone on paper, and it is still boarded up shops and nail bars with "exciting new developments" in the pipeline, probably overdue a mysterious fireBack on topic. One of my Burpless cucumbers is actually growing, the other one is sulking. And my radishes are now growing away but looking a bit too lush without much root swelling apparent. My Little Gem lettuce forest is a mess, millions of them, hopefully I'll get some edible salad leaves when I thin them out in a few weeksThe dahlia cuttings I took, two out of three survived my neglect and have been planted out, so far so good. The parent is in flower nowEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens6

If things don't swell, Farway, use the radish leaves as turnip leaves. Wilted with poached egg etc. Not raw as they are prickly, unless you like prickly? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing3

You were lucky there Arb, gull poo is a beggar to clear up!Thanks 2p, I hope they’re decent sorts too. They’ll not really be neighbours as such cos even though they’re at the bottom of our gardens it’s a long walk round to get to them. I just hope that the asking prices will be scum prohibitive (am I allowed to say that? Well I just did, cos it’s true).I hope the doc gets you back to fine fettle Farway. You can’t be dropping to bits now you’ve got dahlias and lettuces and beans and roses etc all on the go ha haa!Library did not go according to plan, Dusty all but nailed it. My single simple question remains unanswered. Well she did kinda give me an answer in the end just to get rid of me - it’s developers, what you gonna do love *sigh + shrug*Well I don’t know what I’m gonna do but it will not include sighing or shrugging. Love. I best leave it til next week when the cooler weather’s here. This heat is making me fractious.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5
