Apparently, regular close mowing will kill it off. Not sure about that, I think you just can't see it when it's that small...

Wow that's dedication Taff!
Though I do admit to a hands and knees job pulling out my lawn weed.
25c here at nearly 8pm and no breeze. Just cloud that traps the heat. I've been on the beach for a swim but late so tide was going out. It's really chilly there.
While typing a tiny breeze has started. It's supposed to rain overnight fingers crossed.
Ive watered a bit, dead headed, mowed and trimmed lawns because I believe them
Oh and a friend came yesterday and I pointed out the lovely scented roses - hmm she says, yes my husband was right. They do make a mess.......So if any of you are super tidy re petals, get rid of roses
Me, I'll put up with the mess because of the perfumed garden and house. You spend a fortune to have rose petals scattered in front of you.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Missing in action yesterday, PM. It was scorchio at Rosemoor too, though this photo doesn't quite convey it.They have acres of wildflower meadow now, which makes sense from a wildlife and economic perspective."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Acres of wildflower meadow, that is lovely
Mind you'd never find mare's tails in that!
I haven't mown my grass for weeks now, it wants a bloody good raking through to make it all stand up again. I think it's dying on it's erse actually but then I've not done a thing with it. I took a pic of my hydrangea last night after the sun had gone so you can see the colours better, and the bit of grass in the background is what my whole lawn is like. I was leaving the Common Vetch alone while it was doing it's thing too, so No Mow May has become Mow No More
Funny my house is neat as a pin, the garden.... isn't, and it doesn't bother me. If my house was the state of the garden I'd pull an all-nighter to right it again or I'd never rest! Queer innit. I've tiny weeds all in the soil but I'm waiting to see if they'll flower or something so I've left them in.
Warm again already. 17' and the "Severe Weather, Moderate Thunderstorm warning" is back 'til midnight Sunday. I wonder how long we've been without rain.... it's been weeeksThanks everyone for sending me some cloud last night - piecemeal was fine but I coulda done with some whole ones
Pics in a min cos that's a phone job not a laptop job.
I need to do something about my toms too, they're getting ever so full and bushy and over-leafy....I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
Last nights piecemeal cloud. Hydrangea
And the weather (not the drunkards’ so it may come true!)
The write up is apocalyptic. Hammering rain and wind, risk to life and property etc etc. And how much rain is coming…? This much -
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
Hydrangea colour will depend on your soil, longer term. Might go more pink, might not. Ours took years to change after coming here.I was pleased to see quite a few droopy plants and some weeds at Rosemoor.
Also, in the Cool Garden, they lost some of their shrubs last winter, like Hebes and Pittosporums, similar to us here. The Cool Garden looked pretty cool anyway:

Warm with some sun. Early start this morning, up watering the volunteer large pots. A few spots of rain while doing it, but that fizzled out. At least the pots are thriving, still early days, so it's more foliage than flower at the momentNice cloud YBE, at least a change from boring blueRain is forecast, maybe, for tomorrow. And I'm off to Wisley on Monday, so rain almost guaranteed, does say showers so unless it's really awful I'm going, and now with the Dusty report from Rosemoor I have to check if RHS HQ is up to same standard
, actually may now be better for me and my lack of mobility now they have moved the trial grounds
Checked, yep they have a wild flower area, actually I saw it last year while it was "in progress" so should be lovely by now, trouble is behind that area is a world of envy with fruit & veg thrivingI will report back on of courseA neighbour has put out free help yourself tomato plants, unknown variety, I just could not resist when I returned from volunteer watering. Only took one which I think I can squeeze in a large pot at the front with some dahliasSuddenly a geranium opened up, it's just a bog-standard I grew from seed "cranesbill" nothing exotic, but it looks lovely in the sunshine, bees loving it of course. I'll let it seed and see if it spreads aroundI noticed at the volunteer garden, the Evening Primroses I introduced a few years back are marching down the road, already appeared on a sheltered bungalows verge, and in the border of the Health Centre next door. Rewilding slowly
Here's the geraniumEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens9 -
Ooh that’s pretty Farway, a good lot of them would be lovely eh?
Yeah it was a welcome change from endless hot blue, pity it wasn’t a great thick grey jobber full of rain.Just in for lunch. Gardening is hard work sometimes. I’m putting rasps from pots into the ground and the bleep bleep lots of sweat words tree has replaced it’s roots!I only dug it all out a few months ago 🥵 Still not touched the tom forest, that’s this afts job. And planting all the wee pots I’ve accumulated…
I just want to float round the garden in a summery dress and big straw hat, deadheading roses and sipping mint juleps. Like wot women with gorgeous gardens do on the telly. *sigh*I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
I wrote that last bit cos someone is obviously listening. I said I was sick of the heat and ready for Autumn, and look at this - (ignore the weeds)The Holey Roamin’ Terror has decided that the bottomless pit that eats hardcore and demands more is just the very place for chillaxin’God help me I need to get dogs soon, I’m at risk of turning into a Cat PersonI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6

Great pic Blue. Made me laugh. Gee that's relaxed!
I have been posting but my kindle ones seem to vanish. Could be me, it's just hot and sweaty and I'm getting vague
Intended to garden or rather hack back brambles in the badger run but it's too humid to care. So tomorrow?
H heavy rain last night which made everything as relieved as humans. Despite deadheading some roses have rotted. Humid and cleared to sun with no breeze - puffs rain clouds this eve but not wetting ones.
Who'd have thought just a few weeks ago we'd be pleased to see rain?
Oh and the heather has started to bloom on the moors. Very early.
Lot's of baby bunnies to dodge as you driveI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
