A drizzly start to the day, but looking brighter now. The midges are horrendous this year 😱
Egg & cress pieces for lunch - it was a case of hunt the cress though. I’ll use a bigger dish for growing it next time...
Spiders with rainbows, twopenny - that did make me laugh - I’ll have to google them 😀'A watched potato will never chit'...4 -
Pp when you say pieces like that it makes me smile
Too hot to garden now so I’ve come in for ma pieces. Strong sun today and I’ve a gallon of factor 30 on too.Ooh looking forward to extra mushroom pics Farway, I really was taken with.Speaking of strawbs, remember I said I knocked one off from looking at it too hard so I stuck it bum up in the soil. Here it’s here -I can’t tell you how giddy I was when I spotted it!Before crowbars were invented, crows just drank at home.5 -

So, with mouth firmly shut, here's our shade area with Solomon's Seal just out and ready for the sawflies to attack and shred. Perhaps the spiders will get them first, but I'll not hold my breath!
Some jolly Welsh poppies in there too. Nope, not saying anything about the Welsh either!

That's a nice pic Dusty, could be a watercolour even, with the poppies in foreground. Certainly a nice mix of colours there, not quite a rainbowEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

You been upsetting the sensitives Dusty? You’ll have to repeat it cos I’ve been busy all day… They’ve gutted that other thread, took all the fun out of it!Just got sat in the sun now, it’s been melting today. Had to have a snore-d’oeuvres this aft (thank you Connor Phillips off of radio Ulster for that, I’ll be getting a lot of use out of it
)

I've obviously been guilty of wrongthink, but I'm not alone. Some kind people on another forum have almost convinced me the planning lady has been speaking from an orifice other than her mouth.
Apparently, she hasn't taken account of an amendment to the Town & Country Planning Act made in 1991. Around here, that's still recent, so I suppose it's understandable, but I can't let her off completely. Quite a lot of money and hassle hinges on her judgements.
Too hot to shovel earth this afternoon, so I mowed. Tomorrow I must pick it all up!Still cold at night here, but the toms are out and staying there. I have a courgette with a fruit on it too!

Sunny day ahead.I woke up at daft o clock and failed to doze off again, so got up & went up to the Volunteer place and sorted out some of the weedy newly wilded pots that have been needing it, but the weather has been dankHot lips had a severe pruning, and planted up the Californian Poppies I grew specifically for that spot near the door, hot, dry, neglected and fed with fag endsAll were fed & watered and then my back & puff ran out, so back home.I hope to give another watering Sun or Monday, because forecast is hot & dry all next weekIf I get my back back I hope to pot on the Black Satin blackberry now it appears to be wanting to live and has stopped pining for the FjordsThis beauty was open up the volunteer place, in the Memorial patch, lovely but only once a year floweringOur orchid is also opening, but my pic was out of focus, try again next timeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7
