Ooh thanks for the links Farway. I'll sure have a go at all the different ways rather than buying one because I know it should thrive...
Also I didn't realise Cloth of Gold was yarrow! I had some in my last wee garden but it was white. The hedgehogs liked snuffling in it's base, I guess that's where all the bugs slept...I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3 -
No gardening here as yet; just two chaps hoovering and dusting like mad! We've even found out how to use the washing machine.Glad Solomon's bells were hiding in there all the time, Poppy.
I know we've had some dodgy moments here of late, but I didn't think we were that far behind! Cloth of Gold going into my wild area this week too, Farway. It's a survivor.
As no gardening happening and we seem to be like everyone else, with cloudless skies, here's a picture of a relatively new geranium I bought a year or two ago:"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity6 -
I was just going through tidying up and throwing away bits and bobs, and in the bottom of a packet that I think had some fertiliser in I found a 'thanks for shopping with us' card with a code for £20 off a £50 spend.
acquagarden.co.uk
Had a quick look at their site and nothing I'm interested in, but they do have a range of tomatoes/other veg etc. As well as decorative candles (?)
Not sure if anyone wants anything or if it's against the rules, but happy to PM if it's helpful (sorry if I'm breaking some rule).I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.4 -
Poppy I'm impressed with the nails! Mine are shredded and it's not going to be any better for the foreseeable.
Still hot and dry here but a bit of a breeze. Hard to think it was single figures a fortnight or so ago and I'm going to have to be careful of sunburn.
Farway, fingers crossed for you they've all got to their destinations by now. I have to go into town and just procrastinating. It's heaving.
ABs I think it's ok to share codes. Usually it's just wrong to ask for money.
Dusty well done on the domestic front :-)
Blue, I've tried air layering but it took a while and then dried out when I wasn't looking. Not the right time for cuttings while flowering. I'd train it along your fence discretely and try and get it down to the soil.
I found a smalk yellow rose growing through my massive bowles wallflower. Will post photos later for ideas as I don't recall ever putting one there.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

Aww 2p, a yellow rose
The wisteria - I don't have soil on my side, the decking meets the fence
I'll train it along the fence. Or I might see if himself can snaffle some thin bits of wood from work and I'll build a trellis. "Not the right time for cuttings while flowering" - that's a beggar. Whilst out with MiL yesterday we passed a beautiful honeysuckle growing out of a hedge and over a road sign which eventually stuck to me. I dipped it in rooting powder and jabbed it in the bucket with my rasps so they can support it. Ah well.
Thoughtful offer Arb, but I'm not to be spending any moreThat's a good voucher though, is there nothing you want/need?
I did do a bit of gardening, of sorts, yesterday. Himself went out for milk and came back with his favourite chocs. A Ferrero Rocher tray and some truffles. First thought in my head? Get that nonsense ate cos they'll be perfect seed trays. Good morning group. My name is Blue and I'm a gardenoholic
In other news, Mrs Screaming Scum is back and it's all sweetness and light. They're arguing deciding where to go on a world cruise so I guess that means the house has sold...
OT - cloudy and cool, sun's forecast to come out about 6pm ish
I hope everyone is surviving families/traffic/sunburnI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -

I hope everyone is surviving families/traffic/sunburnOh, that's good news, but remember, it's not all over until the person self-identifying as an overweight female, sings. Contracts have definitely been exchanged in respect of the thatched pile near the end of our field, and progress has already been made in reducing the champion Leylandii and removal of other, smaller trees. Rotovating of the parking area has also occurred, which is particularly interesting.
They own half the road, but buses and tractors with big loads require about 90% of it at that point.
Family arrived late, somewhat dishevelled after doing battle with the M5, which had become a temporary car park around Weston-Super-Mud. We managed a walk in the nearby forest, which was nice and shady, and by the time we returned, the sun was less fierce. I believe we're up to about 21c again today, with some cloud, so nothing too stressful. Of more concern is the way the garden's turned to concrete.I'm off to visit a friend, and we might walk somewhere inland. The coast, where everyone else is going, will probably be bedlam.

Yep I'll only breathe a sigh of relief when I watch their removal van pull away!
Gawd I don't miss the M5. Me and ex-h used to live down there (well, RAF Locking) and it was desperate going anywhere so I can't imagine what it's like now!
Sounds like you've been busy Dusty, anybody pushing back yet?I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2 -

Sounds like you've been busy Dusty, anybody pushing back yet?Busy? Do you mean the legal planning stuff? I've given myself a break from that for a few days. There's more than one way to deal with it, and the one which least upsets the council bods is the best!We usually abandon the M5 before the Weston junction and head over the Polden Hills, so miss most of the traffic action. All the house building around there has made a bad situation worse. The striding Willow Man used to wade through open ground, but he's now disintegrating among housing estates.
