Vaccine is excellent news, as long as peeps believe it is safe and don't go down the thought of thinking there is any danger with it 🤞
It's very good news for my friend in a care home and probably for Dearly Beloved too, as she has vulnerability, but for me and other 'built like a horse' people it's more marginal in usefulness and there is never anything 100% safe or effective.  My worry is that people will start being less sensible in their behaviour as the vaccinations progress, but then 'sensible' is open to many interpretations!
  • You're right D, people will probably be worse than they are now.  Will take a while to vaccinate the whole lot of us ofc.  Fed up with it all (like everyone else) with all the doom and gloom and now peeps losing their jobs left, right and centre 😔
Just my opinion, no offence 🐈

The start of a colder snap today, and judging by the sogginess, it's been raining a while now. :|
Off to do the weekly shop, I think. It seems more attractive than outdoor activities today and besides, indoors there's hoovering... :o

Tipping down here, and set for the day from the forecast, could be worse, snow & frost oop North
My shop is completed, on line these CV days except a maybe quick dash into the Co-op for fresh milk.

Lulled into a false sense of security. What should have been a dark downpour all day started damp but bright
It's gone dusk dark and tipping down so I'm reluctant to start my wet day plans this late and would like to snuggle down but the cars in for it's MOT so I can't relax.
Got a couple of posts in yesterday with some unexpected bright and mild weather, though my shoes were heavy in cloggy soil which I trapsed through the clean garage floor.
Cleaned the front porch full length  windows a treat this morning. Now I can see the rain better.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Had a mixed bag on my way to consumer nirvana. Looking north to Exmoor, it seemed very grim. Looking south, Dartmoor didn't look much better......but it was OKish in the middle. :)
Point and shooty camera's producing watercolours in this light.  Dartmoor in the distance on the way home:

"Looking north to Exmoor, it seemed very grim" Yep, it was.
Rain was expected all day and we did get a break but we've had dense cloud for weeks and it squelches when I walk on grass.
And it makes the evenings dark even earlier. Not good.

My  parents bought an ex-farmhouse 800' up  on Exmoor, fortunately after I'd left home. Dearly Beloved's parents did much the same on the Mendips. We've been careful not to buy at a similar altitude: 450' is plenty for us!

Stopped raining at last, but still cold & dull with a bit of a breeze. Another day of nil gardening, too squelchy even if I wanted to get out there
A day for thinking about next year's garden plans

  • I'm 15 miles south of Manchester. Here it started with 'slushy' rain. Now it's snowing thick and fast. The sky is totally grey and the ground is now carpeted with white. Picture postcard stuff. Beautiful but I'm staying firmly inside!
