I'd need a ladder as they're up in the roof of the polytunnel and probably burst by now anyway.(Oh, and the bed was full of weeds, spent annuals and perennials that needed tidying. Terrible mess!

Just my opinion, no offence 🐈0 -
We weren't doing a Tracey Emin yesterday; not with 2 wheelbarrows a border fork, secateurs and loppers! It was a great day for clearing up; not a cloud in the sky. We've paid for that with another nasty frost, but just think of all the whitefly and other bugs that are going down like ninepins.By contrast, today starts cold and dank.....then it gets worse!
Apparently, it's Black Friday or something, so maybe we'll stay in and write Christmas cards. It seems we're to be allowed Christmas, then we'll be punished for it in January, or something like that. I think it's a conspiracy, as both our kids have ended up in Tier 3, yet Mother in Law is in the same one as us and can come here whenever she likes.

Lol D, whichever bed it may be... 'be safe' 😸
Waved off OH to work and couldn't wait to shut the door, blooming cold out there today. Forecast for next few days is dry which will give me a chance to collect up more leaves and tidy more borders. Glad the little bugs are dropping, hoping the wasps move on too (or whatever they do) 🐝

I've got Dave's cold & dank weather here as wellToday's gardening will consist of rinsing / cleaning the seeds out of the rose hips and consigning them to their winter quarters in fridgeI did pop out earlier to collect \ prescription via my volunteer border, flowers still out & noted my fellow volunteers have been busy clearing up the fallen leaves & stacking behind the newly uninstalled wire mesh composting area, a plan coming togetherThe notice is the wasp nest warning, didn't spot any but can't be too careful

Wet, freezing wind and did I say wet?My dwarf pinks have rotted to a grey mass. It's not actually raining but dew and mist and grass and ground is sodden. Took out my covid restrictions stress on digging out an old whirly gig spike and taking up some more turf to make a bigger veg bed all in the half dark so that's done.I'm going to have to bite the bullet at some point as have an arbour to make and plants to move. Also a light gate to make and I'm falling over the required bits regularly.

That's commitment tp (digging in the half dark) 😸
Very cold here already, dark and dreary... but it is only the wee hours so to be expected.Just my opinion, no offence 🐈1 -
I wish my 'wee hours' were as late as 05.48; it's usually about 03.30 and then again at 05.30!So dreich here this morning, I was half an hour late with the hens and nobody noticed.A plumber's coming to finish our en-suite today, allegedly. It's been a total headache and has taken 20 months altogether. Both the people who began it developed hernias, then we found problems with various bits that took yonks to resolve....and then we began raising chickens in there...2

Sun's just peeping out, first time for a couple of days, must have rained overnight as I spotted rain drops on leaves during my morning mooch around the blockFollowing on from another thread, the Christmas trees for sale signs are up locally, not sure where he gets them from certainly not grown round here, but the Forestry Commission has large plantations selling them not too far away so could be sort of local, would have to ask before buying if I were buying & CBAThe rose seeds have been separated from the hips, trouble free and as easy as squeezing them out of tomatoesBecause I don't need many I expect all will germinateEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Thick cloud enveloping the place so dark, wet and depressing.Beginning to wonder if it will ever dry out but I guess that means a drought next.Faraway why are you seperating seeds from hips? Do you make rose hip syrup from the flesh? Do you make itching powder from the seeds?
