Paspatur said:Sorry another question, should it flower? I have never seen flowers on it but it is a lovely green colour all year roundMine never did, it came with a house I bought and I always thought it was one of the "Architectural" type of plantsThinking on though I guess it must flower somewhere or how would it spread by seeds?Just checked Wiki, seems it does flower so I can only assume it need the right spot to do so

Farway, thank you for your reply. I don't mind it not flowering as it is a lovely colour all year. There seem to be lots of different ones so I think I will try propagating it. I've had bad luck with a lot of plants in that section of the garden due to the Leylandii hedge on the other side so it is nice to have something that likes it there.0

Evening all
Been sunshine all day here! I imagine you've been decorating your tree D? Must be nice to choose one like that. Still working on my hubby re. a real one, he's caving a bit (I think) but just probably fed up of me keeping on lol 😊
Managed to get enthusiastic and clear some of the moss/algae off the patio paving. Haven't found an easy way of doing it yet (without chemicals) so any suggestions are welcome 🐈Just my opinion, no offence 🐈1 -
I use soda crystals but don't know if you class that as chemical. Has never affected surrounding lawns or flower beds for me.1

Furthest one is an oak tree about 18' high.

Aah yes apologies D, didn't read your post properly partly by being distracted by an enormous piece of choc cake - any excuse lol. Lights looking good so far 👌

Thanks Davesnave, might be the inconspicuous part that is the problem. I am blind in one eye and have depth perception problems with the other. Next year I will take photos at various stages as I can see better what is happening at magnification. Might try propagation by layering if any branches are close enough to the ground. I would be happy to buy but do not know the exact variant. Some are dwarf and I want taller. Lights are lovely, not going to ask how you got them up an 18' tree!1

This is the extent of my tree decorating. Normally lives outside but granddaughter wanted it inside as Xmas tree. She loves it because she found a label on it saying guaranteed for 28 days and it is now 21 months old4

Only needs to stop dehydration & be a bit stretchy to allow expansionI did see one where they had used a split plastic bottle, and another using a Kinder egg filled with compost, but any sterile rooting medium would do I guessI was toying with air layering an apple and looking on YT was as far as I gotToday was a good hard frost, which is probably the end of my nasturtiums, I can now add clearing them up to the list
