twopenny said:What about a basket trolley or adopt a supermarket trolley you could lean onThanks, but there are steps to navigate. One of those gardens that was good when fit & able but not so when time & health catches upIf my Premium Bonds come to the top I'll get a bungalow on level ground, plus someone to hang the washing out, and maybe a gardener to do the weeding while I'm at it

🎼 You’ve got to have a dream, if you don’t have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true 🎼I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1

Mines good to go.Ramp included brick built at the front giving wide open views plus steps going in the right direction. Now level (only took 3yrs) to the back garden. It's a little short of a bathroom at the mo (4yrs and waiting) but does have a shower ensuite.I have an airing cupboard too.Sheesh we need some sunshine. It's getting to me all this wet and dreer weather.

Weak sunshine here this morning, but only for another hour or so. They say. It might come down to yous by the afternoon
We went to Beverley yesterday and had a good trawl round the market. There's a fellah and his wife there selling plants that they've obviously grown themselves. I managed to only buy the one (coulda taken half his stall home with me tbh), and I only bought it for the name. It's a "Christmas Box" something or other - fragrant white flowers and glossy black berries. Christmas box is what mum used to call the main christmas present. "whad'yas want for your christmas box?" So that's instead of a geranium for mum cos the ones I'm seeing are nothing at all like the ones she had... While I was umming and ahhing an Irish woman was telling me about it - lovely creamy white fragrant flowers that release their scent when you brush past it (so I'm to plant it on the border edge she said). Honestly if my garden comes together at all it'll be pure luck not judgement
We're taking himself's mother out for lunch today. She has dementia and she's been in a care home this last year or so. Then a place came up in a proper dementia home so they moved her. She's not doing so well now. She was happier where she was before but the siblings are happier now she has 'proper' care. It's awful the whole way round.
On a lighter note - the Holey Roamin' Terror has decided that my buckets of trees and rasps are absolutely the very thing to have a big poo in. I'm sure he does it deliberately, the swine!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1 -
Lovely sunshine & blue sky this morning, hooray. Only for today though, allegedly. No gardening today despite ideal weather, I'm roped into all sorts, including a birthday party for grandson [16, where did those years go!

That box sounds nice YBE, sounds like everyone should have oneChecked airing cupboard, hooray, first lot of toms have germinated, moved the small sweet cherry [from banned deepest West Country supplier]. Moved them onto the window sill. The other varieties sown at the same time are showing white tips, so maybe by tomorrow
Also, from the same supplier, the Mustard sown in the conservatory has germinatedSoon going to need a big shuffle round looking for window spaceYesterday afternoon I planted out the Regale lilies, normally I use pots but this time I'm trying in open ground at the front, I'm hoping over time they will multiply & spread. They are very near front steps and the scent should waft nicely in the summer breezeAnd then it rained to water them in, so alls goodPlus, crocus missed by the squirrels, opened in the sunshineEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3 -
Happy birthday grandson 🙂Here’s a pic of the Christmas Box. Just not sure where I should put it.No movement on my toms, but they’re only sat on top of the boiler in the kitchen for I don’t have an airing cupboard 😒I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2

There would be some warmth just creeping upwardsActually, maybe just have a box of some sort, just to stop drafts and keep residual heat in instead of adding to general kitchen heat?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Not enough room for a cupboard up there, the boiler's all but up to the ceiling. They're in a tray up there with bits of carpet wedged in between the tray and the (tiled - cold) wall. I bring them in to the living room windowsill when the sun's out, they seem to like thatI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.0

Suns out and it's glorious out of the wind so just been out at the harbour drinking coffee and chatting with the rest of the world who are out.
Been to the garden centre briefly to check on the price of a greengage. More spots on the bark and same price as Otter where theres a good one. Plus the tomato sungold so another trip for a coffee and scone scheduled
Clematis £10, Lidl £6
Stood in the sun and checked shadow if I put a pergola in. A girl can dream.
I've got a Christmas box. Enticed by the scent because they'd put loads together. My neighbour then announced she had a tree sized one and I could have had a cutting!
It seems fine in shade or reasonable sun. It didn't like the heatwave though. No special treatment. I like plants like that.
My magnolia has had it and the greengage.
Can't cut the grass because my neighbour's weird son has been power washing his car and soaked the front patio, lawn and bench.
Going to sit out with a book for a while and enjoy the fruits of my labourI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
