2p: Sheesh it's even colder out there with a brisk nor-easterly and heavy grey skies.

It seems we might get some sunshine from late morning today, tomorrow, and maybe Thursday too. But do they really know? 🤔 Being positive, frost looks unlikely for the next 10 days.😀

Woken early today by a digger being unloaded in the drive and now there's a plate vibrator…err….vibrating. 😬 Next door's landlord arranges for their drive to be fixed every few years when it becomes potholed. That's good, because we sometimes get the blame when all the loose stones travel into the private lane. Their drive's on our land, so we could be asked for a % contribution, but the request never comes. The lady owner's a good sort 😇

GB: Given how thirsty leylandii are Dusty, they may well be casualties next summer.

I suppose one can hope! However, the position by the stream is on the dampest ground. It's where the moles go in a summer like the one we've had. I see one has returned to the chicken pen now, the well-manured ground probably attracting the most worms. Yum! 😋

Sadly, Mr King's inappropriate trees are a minor problem now, compared with the latest from the wildlife area lower down the stream. Yesterday afternoon, while chopping-up more of the fallen tree I was berated by Ms New for daring to coppice some hazel on her side of the stream. I knew this was coming, so it's better in the open and dealt with, but after years of tiresome arguments about boundaries, rights, and other weirdness, like nutters damming the stream, I'm tired of nonsense. It doesn't take a degree in astrophysics to examine title plans, old maps and modern OS stuff, but despite them all showing our land going beyond the stream, this lady knows Devon and Cornwall are separated by the Tamar. So there! 🤣

I'm sure her thinking is more complex than that, but my explanation was deemed "Rubbish," so that's where we left things, with me suggesting she gets whatever evidence she has, and we'll look at it. We did this with her predecessor, who had some very strange ideas, but at least we could speak civilly. He didn't concede an inch, but we agreed to work alongside each other without making mountains from legal molehills! 😁

It's gone quiet, so that's the drive sorted. 😊 Nothing garden-wise to report. Sounds as if we are about to journey towards Bristle with a folding bed for a GC. Has the diesel price fallen yet? Heating oil has, but we're still at 7/10 full. Maybe it'll all be over by Chri January. 😉

    Sun's popped-out 😍 2p!

Farway: Is she going to pop up on GW prancing round some stately home telling us how it was planned & planted by some toff?. Or maybe have finance related tips, like growing Thrift, pennywort, honesty, Money tree etc.

    Gotta go, but 😄🤣😂😅

Interesting and thanks, but I'm all steps so everything has to be lugged up & down them. If I had planned ahead before I bought this place i would have gone for one on level ground, but who thinks that when young & fit?

Hmmm tricky. I have steps in inconvenient places but one level to which I carried 3ltr jugs to fill the bucket on trolley at the bottom of a step.

I remember yours are several and quite steep. Off the top of my head, a length of guttering or wide plumbing pipe leading to the watering can, bucket and large jug to water. It really saves lots of energy and aches.

I'm still trying to work out how to get the bath water out of a high window into buckets 🙄 I might use that pipe idea 😄
