Farway ,that made me laugh 😂 hopefully an ugly duckling will become a swan. The blackberries sound great.

2p I hope the contents of freezer were salvageable. It must be difficult to clean egg up if you can’t bend , hope you aren’t too sore this morning.

Bloods only left small bruise, though she took an armful. My eye appointment had me sat waiting just shy of an hour ,for a 5 minute exam 🙄 which meant walking home in the full heat of the day. Went to watch football with family, least said the better.

Today is a Tesco run to pick up wine supplies if still on offer. Tomatoes have flowers do I need to do any IVF with a brush or leave to get on with it? Know my luck I’ll knock the flowers off!!

Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.

Definitely sleeping, no sign of bodies underneath :) Yeah, I did notice piles of dead leaves around some trees yesterday, similar to last August when the park looked like it was October..happening earlier this year..Smashing grapes grommit!

Well discovered wort, lucky Farway, there may be more next year then! Congrats on your mystery cracker blackberry…My thornless is still small twigs, and struggling to put on leaves so I gave in and watered it a bit yesterday. Bless that plum, it definitely wants to seed, that tree.

Trying to clear up an egg on the floor is a nightmare, someone should invent something for that type of thing, actually, exactly that type of thing. Bummer about the freezer door, hope you're better today.

Clouded over yesterday morning so I went to the lotment whereupon the sun shone like it was the summer of 76..I recardboarded half the area that's covered with woodchip. Two hours work [lots of breaks] will save me countless hours weeding in the future. When I acquire more cardboard, the other half will be done and I may throw in a bit more for good measure. Sunny here, cool breeze so far, I've watered and yes 2p, you're right about the damn pigeons always pooing in the birdbath…I feel like one of those people who say 'you're just spoiling it for everyone else'

I'll not show you my plums then, Farway. 😂 Here, it's apples that are lacking. The plum is getting err…..special attention. (Keeping my voice down because I'm not on benefits 😉)

    2P: I have a weird supper from what defrosted…

Another sympathiser here. Yesterday, we drove to our old home for me to attend a special do at my old workplace, where the top bod was retiring. It's 19 years since I retired, and others followed, mostly as reluctantly as me, so it was quite an emotional reunion. 😪

All fine getting there. The M5 ran like clockwork, but oh, getting home! No boring details, but 2 road closures and a horsebox added an hour to the return trip, hence a weirdo supper made from odds and ends, all saved by a pork pie. 🤩

Can't access BT this morning. They suddenly decided to do 2-factor authentication on 3 accounts simultaneously, and now nothing works. ☹️ Meanwhile, the Openreach person supposed to come last week to install fibre, didn't, and we've no idea now if/when they will. Why the hell would Putin want to invade, while we are doing such a grand job of messing-up the UK's infrastructure ourselves? 😄

    Quick, find a picture before I commit 'word-crime moan-speech.'

How about some chicory, loving this weather and now about 6' high….😲

OT: Hot again. None of the hoped-for thunderstorms. 😕

Another cool cloudy start but I slept till 9 which is good but I feel fit for nothing.

I just refroze everything, my philosophy is that it's all going to be cooked at high temperature. The ice cream lollys I had been saving myself from I gave in but had to eat with a spoon 😏

Using the washing up water to do the hidcote lavender which is struggling. Tried to trim off the dead heads but took much after yesterday.

Yes Farway, I propped up my one and only runner bean because it's flowering. You never know 😄 good news on the blackberry, I must go and pick more. Trouble with them being early and not time for the apples so I can make jam. Nothing like apple and blackberry jam on your toast in winter.

Oh and after paying a fortune for some figs in the supermarket and farm shop I picked up a plant in Morries for £3. Goodness knows when it can be planted. Will have to go in a pot first.

I did make the mistake of not buying tomatoes because I have some ripe but they are so tiny I'm on rations. Some tomatoite I think might help.

Todays jobs are going to be cleaning seed pots and trays for next year and sanding down stuff at best as I'm whacked after yesterday. Just reading Taffs post made me tireder 😉

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
