Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Morning all, on "Search - Autumn decor and crafts" day 

Really quick post this morning - I'm DomNon'ing, food shopping, and off to take Posh Friend out to lunch cos she's in a bad way atm.

Less you deffo should enter your pics in some exhibitions or summat, they're all so ....right. Special mention for the one before our first RavenBum - I can smell that from here, it's perfect  

Might be another quick post tomorrow too (if at all) - I want to get round Chatsworth before the filthy carrier monkies kids break up from school, so that'll be any early start. 

OT the weather is on the change! Am unnecessarily happy! Even if it does come colder I want this murk and humidity to lift. I want the sun back, and sunrises and sunsets, and blue sky. 

Oh and I went mad and clicked the scrolling news thing yesterday, so I can now tell you that the "exact time and date and location that a 20ft (or summat) wall of ice and snow will blanket parts of the UK" turns out to be the highest parts of Scotland, in Winter. The shock!

We certainly have some brilliant photos on this thread!  I missed Less's second batch of beaches for a while, and now we have pp's gems from another corner of the realm.  Viewing them makes me want to head for the coast today, but I fear we'll probably wimp-out and take an easy, inland option. With the nights drawing-in, the coastal locations are becoming more difficult, especially as the 'unexplored' ones are on the Cornish border and beyond.

I'm sure Less takes time over composition, whereas I just fire away and hope for the best when out and about. That's my excuse, anyway! 

I hope Farway sees your news article, pp. I imagine he's used up a swimming pool's worth in the last few weeks!  Seems a shame they can't use all that hot water somewhere. Couldn't they pair up data centres with spas, or something? I have memories of fishing as a teenager at the outfall from the coal-fired power station, now long-gone. It was sometimes freezing down there on the estuary, but we cold stand with our wellies in warm water, and it was lovely! 

 Sadly, it wouldn't be sensible feeding the fox as well, pp, though the chooks are probably safe. We wouldn't even know it was visiting, if not for the trail camera. Mrs Dusty and a friend are taking another hog to the rescue. She did a weigh-in last night, and another youngster hasn't put any weight since a week ago. At just over 300g, it’s unlikely to make it through winter without intervention now. Some others have put on 60g in a week! 

Not a very picturesque photo from me today. I planted out winter lettuce, kale, etc. and it's taken days to track down all the caterpillars......  

They'll recover, hopefully.

Back again, lots of catching up and admiring the photos, even the LIAM  . I went out & checked if any of mine, just in case one may have had second thoughts & not die. Nope, none there

The horses wandering about, reminds me of the New Forest, but the ponies can be a right pain sometimes, being used to humans, they like cake, etc and can get annoyed if none forthcoming

I'm looking forward to the weather change, maybe some much-needed rain here on Sunday instead of this grey murk, not photogenic at all

I think that was the BIg Idea, heat swimming pools, greenhouses, hospital, schools or even old folks homes etc

Some countries use waste heat from nuclear plants to heat greenhouses, and supposed to be good fishing off Dungeness, Blinky & chips often on the menu 

My wallflower search at Morries drew a blank, none at all, loads of pumpkins though. I'm in no hurry, just a "Nice to have" really

Final Volunteer meeting went well, thanks for efforts etc, no rancour. 

Last throw of dice is off to Annual Volunteer thanks tea & cake party in November, it's being held at a local posh old folks home Care Home, they have offered to host it free, but IMO Sprat to catch a mackerel

Loads of Care Homes being built around here, but so expensive no one can afford to go there, so even catching just one of us is good business

It's in three acres of gardens, very posh, I'll take my knife along in case I spot a twig or something that needs trimming back

Ursula was born in 1936, so I think it more than likely she'd fall on her fundamentals if she took the same beach walk as pp! 

Those fungi look a little like honey fungus, but there are many varieties.    Look out Lonicera....though IMO it would be no great loss!

We'll see in a minute, maybe. I have a long walk to report. Here's how it began:.............................Nope, it won't load. :'(  Tried 3 times. Will resize and try again.

Ah, reduced the picture size to 50% and it loaded. So, MSE may be limiting our photo sizes, which would be OK if they told us, via a banner, like the 'no politics' one. 

Not many clues in the above photo, so here's one about a mile along, looking back to the starting point, which everyone seems to take:

As you can see., we had a little blue sky, but that changed later on. We were supposed to be walking about 4.5 miles, but it turned out to be nearer 6 on the pedometer. 

OT: Legs recovering, but the dry day promised has turned into 'rain later,' so I need to get cracking with the lawnmower! It felt reasonably warm this morning, compared with last night. No hedgehog news yet....

Sunny with a stiff breeze, all set for a good rain tomorrow

MSE still playing up, just had Vanilla warning. I have a photo so see how it goes

No gardening today, well, I may creak out down the garden with my camera, there is a red rose open which could be the last this year

I also need to peer very closely at some green thins growing in the cracks of my front steps, could it be the Ergo whatists seeds back from Norway? Or more likely bitter cress

Thanks, I'll have a look. 

All I'm looking for is some cheap plants, about a dozen is all I require. Morries did have some but I left them to get "next time" and then of course they only had dying ones. 

If I don't get any it will not be a huge or even a little problem, no doubt some other plants will come along
