Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Sunshine this morning 🙂 which is better. Rain by lunchtime apparently.
Seems the weather is confused and can't ease itself into coming and going.
Too wet to do the hands and knees gardening, perhaps that's for the best.
There was a moon and very pretty it looked but not particularly red or even peach like Blueys so I reckon Dusty and Bluey have done a good job there. Awaiting Farways misty one.
Quite right I'm not a sitting and nattering type so that's tough. I'm gonner have to learn though.
I'm going to give a walk a go and see if I can find some of the lovely colours. Trouble is the best views are while driving.
Moorland trees have had their leaves blown off and no berries. It's all a bit weird in the countryside.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

That's a good range of toms you got #NotJealousAtAll... Orange Parouche is a new one on me, I'd have to buy those seeds if I saw them just for the name
I wouldn't worry about getting excommunicated cos I think they're getting desperate - have you seen the newest saint? Some kid with a magic t-shirt #SaintsAin'tWotTheyUsedToBe Has MrsD offered you photo taking lessons yet...?
Am I the only one missed your Rusty’s Nuts ref Less? I'm wondering now if I should plant some cos I do love fresh filbertsFingers crossed you get some dry weather now and get your tatties up. Mmmm tatties.
It may have been very hard to get a proper Blood Moon picture in much of the UK. Here, clouds didn't clear until it was well up in the sky, and frankly, I didn't mind!I'm sure we can manage well with wort's two splendid sunset photos, and your shot with those dramatic lines of convergence.
I didn't buy seeds of Orange Parouche or Maja; just bought individual plants at the Garden Club Sale. They looked good, but looks aren't everything, especially at my age!By excommunication, I meant here.I'm never sure what's acceptable.
Mrs Dusty has a following of her own elsewhere, and does videos too, getting many more views than me, I suspect. If I disappear here, I may go over there and cause mayhem.
Less's reference to Dusty's Rusty Nuts went waaay over my head, too.Although I'm a (selective) metal-head, they never crossed my radar, being after my Marquee Club & festival days. By the 80s, I was a much harassed people-pleaser with a mortgage, heading for my first heart attack, until my Road to Damascus moment.
Anyway, they look like bikers to me, and I was a Mod!
2p, can you obtain your op faster by travelling elsewhere like Mrs Dusty? (although she travelled to your county!)
Lots going on today, like our first log delivery and the chimney sweep, both mid-afternoon. We're stocking-up big-time. Has Ana built her nuclear bunker yet? I've not had time to look. Maybe they've got an offer on those in Lidl.Drunks say sunshine and showers, degenerating into heavier rain just after the log delivery....but this year I have a spare tarpaulin.Today's picture is self explanatory:Many have already left. These are the hangers-on. It's been a very good year for these guys. One benefit of being a 'conspiracy theorist' is having slug pellets that work.7 -
Blue sky and dry, maybe I'll get ex Dusty rain tomorrow?I'm now thinking I'll have to get the watering can out again soon if it doesn't rain, no pleasing some folksMy moon was a complete failure, stupid thing came up behind trees & a building and not where I thought it would be, so it was hidden from me.Not even a blurry red spot to showDustyevsky said:Speaking of video clips, what on earth will Intel Lady do, now her best character has been replaced by said Honourable Member?Latest vid, she is going to "Tell All",
so hours of chuckles to come
YoungBlueEyes said:Am I the only one missed your Rusty’s Nuts ref Less? I'm wondering now if I should plant some cos I do love fresh filbertsYou were not alone, I missed the Nuts ref as well, like Dusty by the 80s I was just a wage slave feeding kids & a mortgageI love Filberts as well, so much so I now own a Red Filbert which I hope will fruit [nut?] next yearIf tempted, do check them out, lovely red catkins & leaves. Can't say about the nuts, I may never see one with the squirrels here, but hopes are high.Example only, other suppliers are availableCracking sunset Wort, more than adequate compensation for a missing moon. And a nice music score by Dusty & his bird matesYesterday was more tidying, removing the never going to ripen tomato foliage at the front, it's garden bin day tomorrow so very convenient."My" robin was pleased to see me disturbing every thing so he could get in and searchPutting slug pellets down near my new Morries just bought pansies has worked, the corpses are piling up and terminal slime trials are everywhereHere's a wild honey suckle near my compost dalek, no scent from honeysuckle.

Mid catch up so far so sorry the lights didn't work out, what about asking them to put a cowl on them so they at least just shine on the area they're supposed to...PP, I use Lavazza Gold, but sainsburys used to do a colombian fairtrade one in a geen pack, that was really nice too, very rounded tasting, but the strength also obviously depends on how much you put in...Like the difference between a lambrusco and a barolo is how I'd describe the gold and the colombian versus other stuff...Gorgeous pictures as always, some stunning sunsets and suns and veg, and I'm ondering how carparkii curcurbit or whatever it is goes onNice pic of you too 2p!I am also on tenrehooks reagrding ndn Canuteishness
and thos lidl trays are ok ish but there aren't any holes in the seed tray bit so hard ot gauge water levels sometimes [ I got some too , full price!, doh! but theyve been relegated, although I di use the green bits as water baths...
Allotment yesterdya, moved the compost bin, put some more dead hedge fence up, it's move water butts next time and make one raised bed for carrots out of the stuff I have in the back garden...Might be good by next yearNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi6 -
Gorgeous sunset, wort
Very similar to the one we had a few nights ago. Did you stand there admiring it with a daft smile on your face, like wot I did??
Are you going ahead with the op, twopenny?? 18 months is a long time to wait for it though - can you ask to go on a cancellation list, or look to have it done elsewhere, as Dusty suggested??
Ooh, definitely let us know about the Veiled Lady, YBEI like your moon pic
Dusty, I bet you cause mayhem wherever you goThe bird pic is great, you'll be sad to see them all go.
That's a lovely honeysuckle, Farway, what a shame it doesn't smell though. I've got a really nice honeysuckle scented diffuser in our hallway - I love the smell. I got it from Home Bargains months ago and had been keeping it for best because they stopped selling it, but it finally came out last month so the house smelt nice for our guestsI seem to remember my mum had a scented cream (Topaz??) from Avon that was honeysuckle scented too. Sorry, going off on a trip down memory lane there
Thanks for the coffee info, taff. Tesco had the red packet of Lavazza and a gold one. I'll get the gold one to try next time I go shopping. No Sainsbury's here. I feel like I'm on a never-ending quest to find the perfect cup of coffee...
Sunny and breezy today.'A watched potato will never chit'...5 -
Beam me up, Scotty…

Fingers crossed you get something sorted 2p, maybe a cancellation, even if it does involve travelling to get on a shorter waiting list. At least you know your garden will wait for you
Moorland trees with no leaves or berries.. hope you haven't slipped straight into winter
I haven't looked yet for good Blood Moon pics, but I bet the best ones weren't taken in the UK. I know Cissie had clear skies while it was behind the mountain out Coleraine direction, but by the time it had eclipsed and come in to view it was clouding over again. I say we make do with your one and wort's sunset too DustyWhen's the next one, anyone know? Love your wee birds, I can almost hear them twittering away to themselves before they fly off
I'm never sure what the rules are on here either tbh. I was surprised when I got told off for saying pike.. sorry, fishy people, when that's what they call themselves, but orange shitgibbon was fine *shrug*
I might look at your link Farway, maybe, if I can grow one inside like my fig tree. Or do they need to be out? I wouldn't trust the squirrels round here, little shipbags, especially as filberts would be gob-sizedI see them up and down my apple tree and thank god my apples are as big as they are or they'd've had the lot! It's a shame your honeysuckle isn't fragrant, but hurray for working slug pellets
Morning taff, still working away at the allotment thenIs it like painting the Forth Bridge - no matter how much you do there's always a bit more to do? I'll walk past compostbag carparkii today for a sitrep.
Beam me up ScottyYou live in such a picturesque area pp, the calm in that picture is enviable
I love the smell of honeysuckle too, but I never think the fake scents smell like the real thing. Except lavender sometimes, they can get that right when they want to.
OT properly cool here this morning, feels like is 7'cSunny and calm to come though, a high of 20' again, possibly. They were right yesterday tbf, so it might well be :fingerscrossed: Right, pics.

I am going to blame early morning, not quite awake yet-ness for looking at YBE pic there and thinking those were bean pods poking out of the wisteria 😂
I like the red filbert ,no where to put it though, I do like a a dangly bit!By the time it was 11pm and the moon was visible it was just plain silver coloured. Pp I do love the sunsets, and it’s right at the back of my house even when I’m sat in the front I can see the colours all across my walls. Simple pleasures. You are lucky having that lovely scenery up there. I always like the sunbeams through the clouds like that.
Dusty don’t be leaving us we miss you when you aren’t here. Thank for the flower ID. I don’t know why they are constantly changing names particularly to something unpronounceable.
2p hope you get sorted soon.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.1
