Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Lovely photos Dusty. Interesting as I had a lot of Great Tits filling up at the bird station yesterday. No pretty pictures though.
Bluey no, the talk was not good for me. All about blood lines and only half an hour. There was another half hour of questions though so I wasn't the only one.
No wine I was driving and the road where the coach went off. The rest of the village got stuck in though judging by the slurred conversation I had after.
Fairway shame about the back. It's frustrating I know. My nuisance neighbour grabbed me yesterday and said she didn't understand how being woken at 5am could agrivate pain. How it turned out to be my fault I don't know 😵💫
Someone picked up a fig plant at Morrisons yesterday so I went and had a rummage. £8 Brown Turkey. Looked decent.
May go back for it but since I've found Lidl do soft baby figs in resealable packets I feel I'm just making life more difficult growing and pruning!
Green bee, I frequently read that dogs don't eat fruit and veg. Obviously they have different dogs in some parts of the country.
My spaniel was a strawberry and banana lover, the terrier+ would leap for low hanging plums.
How did I know? Because there was a Rue plant beneath and she'd come in smelling of it 😉I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Love the image of Great Tits putting petrol in their cars 2P
(OK, I did misread the sentence initially...). Apparently Great Tits will peck out the insides of May Bugs and eat the brains of Pied Flycatchers they have killed, according to a Springwatch episode we were catching up with last night...
Our dogs have been filling up with gooseberries, rasps, and especially, blackcurrants - lots of purple poo; fighting with the blackbirds for their share (did manage to pick some for ourselves too...)Never seen a Jersey Tiger, but did spot the Garden variety t'other week:Note to self - must get round to removing that creeping buttercup...8 -

I suppose it is temporarily, but some always pops up elsewhere.
I'll admit, when I read 2p's post about the wine and nibbles in church, I thought of all the communions I've attended! Perhaps they might have gone better with greater generosity all round."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity7 -

meant that particular bit, which, given the photo was taken a couple of weeks ago probably means there's a metre squared of it by now...

Aww I can just picture it gb - Anonymous Dog sat with his face right up to the fence and his tongue lolling nearly to the ground pure desperate for just one more strawberry
I didn't know they were good for fibre, nice little fact is that.
Hope you had a nice time at the Oh And A Few Plants Centre yesterday Farway. How's their new puppy doing btw? A charming little dax wasn't it...? Ah I was confused, so garden waste will get an extra bin for itself then, and food ditto? *sigh* I'll have to rejig me patio then cos where my 3 bins live now is exactly right for 3 bins. 4 would throw it right out. They can't leave anything be, can they.
Same here 2p, my dogs have always eaten fruit + veg. Ben liked all of them in general and especially banana ends, Jack was the same but a bu99er for brambles. Have I put up the pictures of Jack balancing them on his nose before he could flip and eat them? It was the only way I could bring a halt to Purple Poo Season once he'd figured out he could carefully pick them himselfI had to go back and reread the bird's filling station line too ha haa! Very apt though.
That's a beautiful clear pic Less, aren't the markings lovely. Must admit, I've kept a patch of creeping buttercups cos I think they've unusual leaves. I only let them have that patch though, I wouldn't want to be knee-deep in them.
Generosity, in a church Dusty?!
OT raining. Well the weather people would probably call it rain, it's really more of a mizzle. Very wet air that isn't mist, that's what it is out there atm. But credit where it's due, it did rain yesterday afternoon at about the time they said it wouldProper rain it was too, I was sorry my hubris let me leave my towels out
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.8 -

He also eats banana, apples, kiwi, butternut squash, sweet potato, carrots, runner/french beans, courgette, and broccoli. He prefers the sweeter fruit and veg, but as there's a lot of courgette available at the moment, I'm putting a lot of that in kongs and lick mats (along with yogurt). I stop the small hole in the kong with peanut butter to stop it leaking, shove in veg and yogurt as filling, and then plug the big hole with a chunk of banana before freezing. Keeps him busy
We had rain in the morning but the sun came out sometime during the afternoon and the evening was nice. Today is grey, wet, and miserable, but we've been for a walk. Water butts are full, and the garden doesn't need watering (with the possible exception of some pots/planters which I need to look at).8 -
Bluey I had to re read your sentence. I thought it was a quote from me.
"Ben liked all of them in general and especially the banana ends"
My Ben got the banana ends too. Took 3yrs after he'd gone to stop automatically holding the end down for him, he was always waiting right at my side.
Cucumber was a no go though 😉I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Back again, not raining and could be a good day for a bit more apple pruning, back permitting.Plus I've two lots of BG to catch up on.YoungBlueEyes said:Hope you had a nice time at the Oh And A Few Plants Centre yesterday Farway. They can't leave anything be, can they. The puppy is the other offspring's, DD, well actually it's her DDs + BF, except BF is now Ex BF, AKA Young Love, and puppy loves it, because he gets shuffled about depending on who is doing what.I suppose an older dog could be worried or unsettled, but being young he just takes it as normal to change owner feeder / walker every few daysWheelie bins, yes, I'll finish up with four as well, don't know colour of the food one yet.All very much Back to the Future, anyone else old enough, besides me, to remember the Pig Bins at the ends of the roads, for food waste to be fed pigs for our rationed bacon?Although the modern waste is now composted & spread on farmers fields, I suppose it is recycling in as much as we will eventually eat the crops, mm bacon flavour.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens8

Farway said:Wheelie bins, yes, I'll finish up with four as well, don't know colour of the food one yet.I don't think they'll all be wheelies, judging by how our council do it. The food waste is a lidded bin of about 5litres capacity, emptied weekly. Any longer in summer. and it would be maggot territory. We have 3 large trugs with loose lids for plastic, glass, cardboard, paper, metal, batteries, small electricals, and clothing. There are allowable combinations of the above. These go out bi-weekly.Finally, there's non-recyclable waste in a wheelie bin, emptied only once every 3 weeks. Some people apparently need 2 of these, and others 3. Our nearest neighbour has 3, despite burning all their paper, card, and plastics in one of those dustbin style incinerators. Well, it's a 50m walk with the non-wheeled trugs to the collection point!Which reminds me....I'm still trying to mend our sack truck. SiL decided to re-inflate the tyres. There was a loud bang!
Investigation revealed he got his psi and bars somewhat confused.
A very sunny start today has given way to cloudier conditions and a reasonable 21c. Mrs Dusty is away, so watering has taken an age.We haven't had so much rain as many of you, so ground conditions are ideal for fixing the septic tank drain field, but our digger guy is still a no show. Should have remembered: on Devon time, 'next week' is 'next month....maybe!'
DD2 is transferring many of her plants in pots (that's all of them!) to her new garden. Here's a rather striking one I gave her after growing it from seed. Mine's long gone. She's been asked to return some seeds, so this old buffer can have another go.
P.S. In the background, one of the new Persica hybrid roses, many good for tubs etc. Yup, Rosemoor price!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity8 -
