Naked Gardening 2p
Well was it Quentin Crisp (?) said you should try everything once, except incest and Morris dancing. Sounds like neighbour has made a rod for her own back then, some people just love a problem to solve....
You're a rare breed not reacting to horsefly bites DustyI had one on my calf years ago and it made me want to chew off me own leg!
A strawberry and cream sandwich pp? I'm not sure if that's genius or heinous... Another cracker of a sunset - have you set that camera up yet?
I think Stick Tree is/was a pear Farway. When I took a pic of the flowers weeks ago someone said it’s a pear because they produce the whitest white flowers. The other manky article is deffo an apple cos it’s got one on it. That’s a belter of a lily, such a rich colourI'd make short work of those brambles too
Aww taff your OH is properly banged about thenYes it is bad that you're only sympathetic on the surface, and yes I'd be the same
You and cats jostling for a good view of the sparrows!
That's an atmospheric pic Less, that would've been even better with a thunder and lightning storm rolled in
Ditto here wort. Misty start and work, again.
OT misty here and warm and sticky and I'm sick of it now The storms came to nowt yesterday, in fact it took so long thinking about raining I got all my bedding dryIt drizzled and mizzled for a bit (hours later than forecast), then some rain came, then it rained hard for about 15 minutes, then drizzle, then it stopped. Dear Weather People - that is not a storm, that is variations on a theme. Must Try Harder. 14'c out there now and not a breath of air, and once the mist lifts it'll be cloudy 'til about 4 when more rain comes, then sunny this evening. They say.

Oh Less, beautiful photo.
I was up on the moors looking at clouds like that the other day but they bought no rain.
There's still some puddles for the animals to drink from and it's cool enough for them to graze but they have to walk a long way to get enough green bits to eat.
Hope you workers both have a good day. Anyone do the lottery? 😉
Overcast and predicted rain on and off but you'd barely notice what's come and gone.
Fruit is looking dire what there is of it, must see if there are any apples left on the tree. The Bramley seems to be okay but not the rest.
The £5 apple has given up the ghost it seems.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

That's a pretty wonderful lily he has there too.
Great photos from Less and pp as well. What lovely, dramatic locations they live in!wort said:YBE yes it’s a will , probate granted May Last year ! Only 4 inheriting, one of which is dd. The others want her to have the house so no squabbling from them . They just want quick sale. They actually would have let her live in it but that’s not allowed. So hoping she’ll be in by Xmas ! Two lots of money spent on mortgage inspections as 1 ran out.No consolation, I know, but our £1k+ bat survey's about to expire. We'll have to organise another. Legal stuff, eh?....And they'd better not find any bats!
Like others here, we waited for the storms and deluge in vain. Had some useful rain, but nothing exceptional. I see now the meja are saying Armageddon is later this morning, but what's predicted here doesn't look extreme. From comments on the thread, I get the impression we've not had the muggy heat experienced in other locations east and north.Taff and 2p speaking of sparrows, reminded me, I was plagued again by the Great Tit which refuses to be photographed yesterday. The photos are still in the camera, but I know they'll be out of focus.Instead, here's a reliable and regular visitor at this time of year.
Edit: Just refreshed..YoungBlueEyes said:You're a rare breed not reacting to horsefly bites DustyI had one on my calf years ago and it made me want to chew off me own leg!
No, not a flea. I know those.

That's so cute Dusty. It has a dark brown face which is unusual.
Perhaps that is your claim to fame that will make your fortune 🙂I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

More overnight rain, feeling much fresher now, but, like Dusty, it has not been too muggy / humid since rain returned end of the week.Everywhere has turned lush & green now, amazing how quickly the plants have perked up by having real rainNice moors Less, we now have a maybe thunder warning, but certainly not as dramatic as that pic.Nearest rain is over Dusty & London, so I'm in the dry middle bit, so far. Some cheaper seeds, with free delivery, from T & M, until midnight.I had a look, but even the cheap seeds are creeping up in price.I'm leaving it until later in the year, but just in case there's something you fancy. No apricot tree
Probably follow 2P's £5 apple tree anyway.
If rain holds off, I may get a bit of daisy dead heading in later, looking very soggy & manky nowStill waiting for an edible courgette, since the pots fell into the DP border and weather changed they are on a go slow, againMy solitary cucumber has embryo cucs, it's an outdoor one, loads of flowers & starting to climb up the peas sticks now. I have hopes.

2p your birds just need a bit of reeducation, maybe if you could tame a crow....?
And the poor animals...
Thats a fab Turner photo Less..wort, that's taking an awfully long time for something that should be very simple...ybe, that work lark has just got to stop, it's no good..How can you be expected to garden if you have to do that all the time? I dunno though, I might have tried Morris dancing at one point...Wouldn't bother with the other definitely. Probably too much of that going round in certain places anyway...And your glads flowered! well done them and you!Dusty what a cute hedgehog, I haven't seen one in the flesh for a few years now.Off to the allotment at some point today to give it a hard stare, mow, and then let it sit there and think about what its done...Nah, I need to rejig over the winter so I'll sit and think for a bit...after weeding and watering etc...

Pp stunning sunset, less has the dark clouds covered 😍
Dusty wouldn’t want to be naked gardener whilst horse flies are around. I hope they aren’t giving you too much grief.
Farway lovely coloured lilies you’ve got. Had a pretty lemon one in a bunch of flowers last week, wouldn’t mind one of those but mine can’t avoid the beetles .
Turned out hot and sunny by the time I left work, on the only day salad was not part of the tea plan 🙄

Ooh, I'm envious of your blackberry and apple crumble, Farway. Did you store your apples somewhere from last year or did you stew and freeze them??
taff, oof, I bet those gates were heavy.
I'm glad your OH is on the mend. My DH got a painful crick in his neck while we were away in North Yorkshire. It gradually got worse and he was convinced it was a trapped nerve. I've had a few painful cricks in my neck, so I told him he was being a drama queen that's probably what it was and that it would be better in a few days. It did take a few days, but he's fine now.
Gorgeous photo, Less, I love the moody looking sky.
I'm worrying about the probate house DD is buying, wort. I've passed on all the advice from YBE, I just hope she's taken it on board. I hope your DD's house is sorted soon.
The camera wouldn't have shown anything this morning, YBE, we had mist. There's also zero view now as it's pouring down
Very cute hedgehog, Dusty.
I was bitten a few times whilst in NY - the English equivalent of the midge - soooo itchy.
OT - it was very warm and sticky this morning. I was sweating like a piglet glowing whilst putting together some furniture with DH. It feels quite chilly now and it's pouring with rain - feeling autumnal...'A watched potato will never chit'...5 -
I don't do the rottery 2p, but I expect anyone who won it would give me a wee bit. Just enough that I could tell Office Micro Manager what we actually think of her, and then flounce out
What's up with £5 apple? Has it got Northern Lights brochures from somewhere?
Did you get Armageddon yesterday then Dusty? Awww lookit yer hedgehogWhy do they look so glossy and silky...?
Fingers crossed for your cucs Farway, hopefully they'll go for it now the desperate heat is over
Taff I absolutely agree and have thought it for a while - work is getting in the way of my ...well everything else, actually! I saw a sign outside a pub in Dublin years ago that said "No working during drinking hours", and I think of it oftenHope Hard Stare was successful at your allotment. I find it needs to be accompanied with a Wagging Finger/Look of Derision/Low Growl to be really effective.
Autumnal here too pp - milky blue skies and the windows are damp outsideHow's the new furniture? Fingers crossed your + wort's daughters houses turn out right. Tbh one of the best things to do would be to read some of the posts on either the housing board or the death/funerals/probate board. There's a wealth of real knowledge on them
Did DD get answer re the probate on her one?
OT lovely out there now. The humidity is sinking, the sun is shining, there's a bit of a breeze, it's 15'c, and all's well. I asked for a payrise yesterday - Big Boss Man didn't have time to go pick up his lunch so he asked me to. I asked if this got me more money now that I'm a dabba as well as chai wallah and he laughed. "You're not a dabbah wallah poppet, where's your tin?!" *sigh* God knows I try.I oppose genocide. Thanks for the good wishes, just trying not to dwell on it, gets me riled up.Tipping down at the moment supposed to clear this afternoon, so done a wash in preparation. Yesterday evening was cooler and I did a run through with the Hoover and so I am ready to mop this morning.
YBE managers never realize the worth of their workers , but will miss you when you’re gone. Love the pub sign great philosophy 😂Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5
