Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Just popping in with this, to give our artists a giggle -I’m a few days behind on my news, but I get the last one now. That fellah went home and ate his banana apparently ha haa
OT raining, on and off.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
Where to start?! So much readingThanks Poppy for the Magnesium idea. I may give it a go. So that's Multivits, Vit B, Cod liver oil, haven't started the Glucosimine yet. I'm going to have to get up earlier to take them allDusty, I had the system flushed and stuff in and all worked really well. But he then replaced the hot water tank.Noise only happens when it's cold. Like water backing up or something. I'll try and get someone to lag the pipe next week which will be a buffer if nothing else. Wish I could still get up and do it.French kitchen enthusium has worn off. Everywhere is Christmas tat so useless looking for real stuff and being rural there's no real choice.I love, love, love that tile! I had an idea once when I was still in the land of creativity to make the little wall outside the front door Morroccan.Even the gloriously expensive tile shop that was full of wonderful ideas, has gone minimilistic. What's wrong with people?Farway I guess when they are selling them on offer they just bung them in. It does make it a bit of an adventure though.Aww people gettiging their fruit trees pruned
I just lopped bits off because the rats will get the produce. I'm disillusioned.
Poppy, I really like your wooden spikes. They are more characterful than ours but I keep trying to get a good photo. Not got it right yet.Now here's a puzzle for you - name that treeThe stems are painted to make a feature of one that lost it's leaves and branches. From my open gardens folder.Anyhoos, it was 14c yesterday but the pavements stayed throughly wet, 13c today and dried a bit on hard surfaces so gardening still not on.I did look at suncreams going cheap in Morrisons though, I reckon if we're going to have sudden short summers I need to be prepared because it will be gone in a flashMine are years old mostly so time for a clear out.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Farway, what external harddrive do you use please? There's only one in our 'puter shop and it didn't have good reviews.Mind there's a problem with getting something to save them too. I just won't thin them outOther problem is - if you do do a cull, then you go out and take just as many more than you deleted!

Just popping in with a few pics to illustrate our "dreich" weather from Sunday morning walk location, quite enjoyable actually as it was also very mild. Walk was followed by visit to local Xmas tree farm, tree picked out and labelled, to be collected in a couple of weeks, so this one is still growing and as yet undecorated. Thought posh town one a bit underwhelming YBE,tbh; no idea what your tree is 2P!8

We had a lovely, sunny time at the Fatstock Show
, but Less, Farway, and others, we also had a good, thrashing rainstorm in the afternoon!
It seems to have rained a lot overnight, too.
I like the Mid Walesian photos, 'dreich' photos, Less, ending with the vibrant green of the Christmas trees. They look like real ones, not Nordmanns, which is what our local nursery has converted to. We won't be walking to get ours now, as the proper trees are about 8 miles away!I think your painted, multi stemmed tree might be a willow, 2p. They will put up with anything! It's an interesting idea, though I'm not sure if I'd do it.
Apologies now for not getting as far as the town square to take a photo of their Christmas tree yesterday. There was just too much to see at the show. Instead, here's a general picture of what it was like in the pannier market; a big space to decorate!
Back later. 3 line whip to do things for Mrs Dusty this morning!PS. Still heavy showers, blustery, and not cold."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity7 -
Dry now but lots of wet dripping leaves, a bit like Less's dripping branches pic, so I guess it rained while I was zzzzing.twopenny said:Farway, what external harddrive do you use please? There's only one in our 'puter shop and it didn't have good reviews.Mind there's a problem with getting something to save them too. [that could be BF offer price, says normal is £171]It's model number WDBFTM0050BBL-WESN I'd put a link but keep getting asked about cookiesI opt for simple USB plug N Play, CBA fiddling aboutMy Big Idea is to get all my photos onto one jumbo drive, and then find a magic AI catalogue programme which will sort for me. At least put all beaches, woods, flowers etc in distinct piles.I share your frustration on not being able to get up into lofts etc, that was one reason I went for combi boiler & shower, it removed all water from my loftNow I have to go into town one day & get Christmas tree photo, it was put up last week, and normally it isn't up to much, probably fit well in Less's underwhelming trees heap. The fatstock show looks well attended Dusty, Always good when folks turn out after a lot of effort has been put inBack to gardening, potted up the unlabelled Japanese anemones. They do have fresh growth just starting from bases of old stems, so at least they are not dead, yet.

Ooooh it's got quiet around here.8c here with strong northerly winds so thermals on! They say 36 wind speed..........not yet. No warnings.Still it's better than the '400c', Night when it's day and one might have been missed, hurricane type winds!Love your winter pics Imp
There's something lovely about the dried seed heads. Nature has some good ideas sometimes.
That market looks enticing Dusty. Lots of real stuff and not the factory made.Definitely going to try for longer tomato season next year after reading the latest food scandal on the BBc news. What with that and the milk. Though I think a cow is out of the questionDomestic stuff today. Looked at the garden and thought about 'improvements' but it's still majorly soggy.I noticed some lovely golden trees to photograph if the leaves are still on but not as gorgeous as Farways.I have some photos from yesterday if I get time will post tonight.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Mmm, bacon, eggs and tomatoes sounds yum, Dusty
twopenny, the posts in the water reminded me of standing stones from a distance. On closer inspection they were covered in seaweed.
YBE, I have no idea about the chains. There were two big clumps of them attached to huge rocks at the end of a pier - I just liked how they looked all rusty and old.
I loved that drinking water fountain.
Your artist post reminded me that I saw a random sock on the ground with a picture of Mona Lisa on it - it was a couple of weeks ago when I was out for a walk. Weird. I wonder if it's still there
Lovely 'dreich' pics, Less. I quite like the thought of going into a forest to pick a Christmas tree - there's certainly plenty around here to choose from.
I haven't seen the BBC report on food that twopenny mentioned, but worryingly (for me!!) I haven't been able to get my usual Cadbury's Hot Chocolate - apparently it's been recalled for some reason. Panic stations!! DH got me a Galaxy one instead, but I tried it today and I'm not a fan.
That was a busy show, Dusty and looks nice all decorated.
Glad you got your anemones all potted up, Farway.
OT - I was expecting frost this morning, but it was just damp and cold (4 degrees). I actually went shopping!! My poor DH has been doing all the shopping and cooking while I've had this lurgy - 5 weeks!! I saw a lovely pineapple plant in Lidl - I've seen them for sale before and I really like them - I might have to put one on my Christmas list'A watched potato will never chit'...7 -

The farming economy is more prominent just now. That may even increase if the meja continues to show interest in the provenance of food. Farming families go to these events to catch up and have a good chinwag. The public like seeing the animals, the crafts, and sales of locally produced 'proper' food.
This is proper animal food; fodder beet. They certainly grew some big 'uns! I give the odd one to our hens in winter, but one of these would keep them going for a week!Similarly, these turnips would make a few stews!I'll tell you what's in the sacks and bags tomorrow. It's not potatoes or mushrooms!

I actually went shopping!!I think the report was about adulteration of Italian tomato products with Chinese tomatoes grown under 'unpleasant conditions.'Sorry about the hot chocolate, but at least you're getting out and about again.
As chocolate's suffering from global shortages, it would be in my SHTF stash in as large a quantity as tea if I depended on it. I can survive a tea shortage for.....ah,that would be telling!
I'm guessing Bluey's drinking fountain's no longer in use, even if it is lovely. Whatever happened to public fountains?"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity8 -
Just a little something I saw on my walk yesterday. Something I've not seen before but rivetting.Obviously no fear of the water and eating their way through the sycamore seads. There were 2 in the tree but the other wasn't this brave and stayed over land. And yes, I remember Dara O'Brien telling a story of a squirrel swimming a river on qiGot darn cold here with icy rain but at least the wind has stopped.
