Some lovely photos there, the corona/aurora is stunning, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a stag. Though we saw a couple of small deer running across a field whilst out on a short walk on Thursday. They had gone before we could get phones out, so my photo is of a field 😂
Yesterday was sunny and I filled the green bin will cuttings , mainly taking the height from shrubs. Sambucca and jasmine I have to say that I have had two jasmine and I find them a bit meh 😏the flowers are so tiny that you can’t see them and the growth is huge so have to constantly prune. Then cleared a patch of one of the beds, I removed the raspberry canes, the yellow tall daisies, some what look like gaura but I don’t think they are, hardy geraniums, and an Acer ,the green feathery one. It had become messy and the Acer was putting out long floppy branches, so that is now in a pot,and the daisies and “gaura” thinnned out and bunched together better. Everything else was hoiked out. The raspberry will go to my niece who grows a bit of food stuff.I’m debating wether to take out a shrub (I can’t remember what it is) and move an Acer in to its spot, it has a very prominent position in the bed and it’s not that attractive.
My problem is I put too much in my beds then they get untidy, things never stay in nice bunches but stride out on their own and take over.😩
Anyway a happy productive 4 hours , and a celebratory wine and pizza as reward for tea.
Today is windy and wet, so not much being attempted today.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5 -

Wort, your almost present deer reminded me of something hidden behind the filing cabinet in my mind's rummage room.Such innocent times, eh?
So, I looked on YouTube and, amazingly, we can still watch it. It's a bit of nonsense from these parts, and even if you think it's a bit daft, the café owner not only has good business sense, but also a great Deb'n accent!

Well, the rain finally left here about an hour after it was supposed to, so we had half a good day.Mrs Dusty, BiL and I had agreed to help an elderly couple who are moving away for health reasons, so we didn't get started until about 12.30.
The first job was to take down a shed, which could have been awkward, but the screws weren't rusty and it broke into its component parts with relative ease.
After lunch, we returned to 'move and store some plants.' There were around15 big pots filled with hydrangeas and evergreen trees! We could only carry them a few metres! This was where my newly rejuvenated van was supposed to come in handy, but the blimmin' battery was flat, so we had to use sack trucks.
We finished moving plants and garden furniture at about 16.30, so I had an hour with the small chain saw, reducing our hornbeam hedge by about half, and finally, cutting down a birch that's not thrived. Every little helps. We might get 20 logs from it.We didn't do anything in the garden proper this weekend.Having read of your accomplishments, wort, maybe now Mrs Dusty's almost recovered, we'll do some proper gardening tomorrow.....Hmmmm, but I have a tickly throat froat tonight.

Thanks all, we got back safe and sound yesterday afternoon
Just a quick post today as I'm still shattered and have already had one kip on the settee this afternoonWe're in the Amber 'weather bomb' zone, so it's pretty wet and windy here. It was horrible this morning, then the wind dropped and the sun came out for two or three hours, but now it's back to rain and wind. I think gusts of up to 80mph are forecast for the next few hours into tomorrow morning.
Your empty field made me laugh, wort. I've got loads of close-ups of fingers and grass on my phone. I love the autumnal pics - I tried taking some out of the car window on the way home but they've come out a bit blurry, but the colours were beautiful.
Gorgeous stag photo, twopenny. I only saw one stag while we were away and that was just a quick glimpse as we were driving past.
I'll update more tomorrow as about to Skype DD.
Ps Hope your mood has lifted a bit, YBE, you should get on the phone to Cissie, she'll sort you out'A watched potato will never chit'...6 -

It sounds like you and Mrs Dusty were busy yesterday, Dusty. That was really good of you to help out your neighbours. Hope your tickly froat is less tickly this morning.
I've woken up early and sneezy this morning. I was stuck in an enclosed space with maybe 12 other tourists the other day, including an American man who was stood next to me and who coughed several times in my directionI'll be really mad if I end up ill
Perils of being out and about around other people, I suppose.
Another pic (sorry), hopefully not so rubbish...
I really liked these sand dunes in Sutherland - the grassy bits look like those big eyelashes that seem to be all the rage these days'A watched potato will never chit'...8
