I'm not a particular lover of spiders (or bugs in general) but I like a good spider's web
My 3 bins sit by the fence, and god knows how many spiders live in it but they're forever lashing my bins together with the most beautiful and intricate webs. I'm always a bit sorry when it's bin day and they break.
I think your toms look like Pacmans too Farway, so much so that I've got an earworm of their tune.
Pp where do you get the old Beechgroves from? Do they have a ootoob channel or summat? I've only been back as far as iplayer will go but that's not far (current showing series and the previous one), I'd love to go years back. Congrats on your photo too, well deserved!:clapping:
I thought it was you said about the lavender in the hoover trick 2p but I wasn't for going back through the posts to confirm it. I don't use conditioner in my washer any more so I can't do that trick, but essential oils on a tissue wiped over your lightbulbs and then draped on the radiator is enough for me
Lovely Convolvulus DustyWhy do herons always look so thoughtful? I reckon it's the thousand yard stare they all have.
Wort could you give the escallonia a severe haircut so that it can regrown and be retrained into the anti-neighbour position you want it in? Ditto the clematis?
Properly dreich out there this morning. Damp and drizzly and misty and bleurgh. I went to wm's yesterday for a coffe and to collect some gravel (thank you very much wm) and it never stopped drizzling the whole time. As I got back into the village the heavens opened, an actual cloudburstNot been in one of those for a long while, not a lot of fun when you're driving I can tell ya. We're deffo getting a lot of rain up here. Typical, when my waterbutts were freshly cleaned out and filled

PP may have a source, but loads on YT. Just search for Beechgrove on YTAlso has G worldEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5 -
Farway said:At least you got out yesterday, Dusty, looks nice from the pics. It just rained here. There were a couple of older guys splodging about in a big pond, being watched somewhat distrustfully by a large swan. They'd tried to stop-up a leak, but the dam boards needed replacement. As wardens, they were pleased to see us, probably because nearly everyone goes along the main, named trail, where dogs and bikes are allowed. Later, they were even more delighted to find us on a bench, they'd thoughtfully placed, overlooking the estuary view. There wasn't another soul walking that path, which is both good and bad, considering it's a nature reserve. One thing we spotted was a field full fleabane. It's great for insects, so I grew some a few years ago. Then I'd second thoughts about releasing it. Looking at this photo you can see why!Rain makes for sparkly flower shots, and your Hibiscus looks lovely. The photo of the bush also proves it's not necessary to always buy named varieties; you can get very worthwhile results from seed.EDIT: It's bright here and there's no rain!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Wow, great photos. Poppy congrats, and thanks to Dusty for reposting the link. Something about this site that posts don't appear/get lost whatever and I kept reading the compliments and couldnt' find it.Sheesh Farway, I had one of those and it never bloomed. Donated by a neighbour where I saw it blooming each year so I've never grown it again. I like that photo, so sharp in some parts and not on the flower. That's unusual. It confuses my brain - not that that's difficult.Bluey how's the diet going. You're quieter than usual. Not enough of the good stuff?I.ve been on a no alchohol week, The milk flavour this week is Strawberry, Very pink
but delicious. Artificial banana and strawberry is food of the gods. Today and one glass of wine with pizza has me nearly asleep.
That web was beautiful and creepy at the same time Wort. Wonder what happened with the mistakes every now and then? I always wonder. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effect_of_psychoactive_drugs_on_animalsStill raining here but it's got warmer than this morning thankfully. I have 4" pots outside and they are overflowing. All or nothing.I've lots of cooking apples given free locally to cook and a whole basil to chop and pesto but the dark is more inclining to lounging on the sofa watching Gino and wishing I was there. So photos are going to have to wait - unless I use one from the summer. I spent ages trying to get the heron in flight but still not got the one.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I've been trying to cut down the length of my posts and the time they take 2p, but making them shorter actually takes longer  The diet is going ok I think. Hard to tell really because I don’t have any way of testing other than how I feel in myself. But on that basis it’s alright
It’s basically fewer carbs (like cheese
) and eating earlier in the day. Easier to do when I started saying to myself "eating that might cost you your 2 eyes"
Is that all your grockles gone then, now you're getting chance at the flavoured milk :clapping: Is it an acceptable sub for the alcohol? Your neck of the woods was on Countryfile last night, the heather and gorse were out in all their glory
I actually got to watch the whole prog cos I didn't ring Cissie. Beloved Cousin text me to say not to bother ringing, that she was in bed full of drink cos she'd been at a wake all weekend. (Her cousin Betty died, Betty's daddy was my granda's brother.) So it was a big reunion, the whole clan turned out and she had the time of her life! I'll ring her tonight and see if she's sobered up
Your pic looks very autumnal Dusty. I've not heard of fleabane before, but maybe that's one thing I don't actually want if it's as vociferous as all thatLooks like they'd make a good job of strangling out my mare's tails though.. Are nature reserves falling out of fashion I wonder? I used to live near one in Lincs and I was often the only one there. It's beautiful and there was all kinds of areas there - woodland walks, a few streams, big open meadows with views over the wolds, I loved it. https://www.lincstrust.org.uk/nature-reserves/snipe-dales
OT It did finally dry up yesterday afternoon but I think it's rained again overnight and it's still raining now. I wouldn't have bothered me erse filling my butts if I knew all this rain was on it's way  Least my bulbs are well and truly watered in though. Cooler than it has been but humidity is still a bit much, and we've some properly actually cool weather on the way. They say. So that's my toms bu99ered then.

Raining here too. I didn’t fill my water butts but only the greenhouse ones were empty. YBE - try podcasts from Zoe for lifestyle advice, and also look up the Glucose Goddess.7

Thanks gb, I'll have a look for those
I've a podcast that wm sent me to listen to too.

YoungBlueEyes said:OT It did finally dry up yesterday afternoon......
It started raining just after I said it was looking bright, and it was so foul, I stayed in for the rest of the day piddling-about on the 'puter.
I had an image from the previous day's walk, bothering me. I took it because it reminded me of something, and eventually I worked out it was one of our posts. It was this one from 2p :
And this was the picture I felt almost compelled to take:It's the entrance to the nature reserve!I've just looked at your beautiful reserve in Lincs, Bluey, and at 50 hectares there's certainly plenty of it! For some reason, Google decided to encourage me, providing 2 routes to get there, the shortest being 5.5 hours, so perhaps I'll not do that today.I have somewhere more local in mind, despite fairly high winds. It will be sunny and dry, they say...

I've got my big jumper on today - what a change temperature wise from a couple of days ago. It's cloudy and chilly now, with rain forecast for later.
YBE, it was just the iPlayer Beechgrove episodes I've been watching, but actually not for a while, I should really start watching them again. I also need to watch the recent episodes to check on George and to see if Lizzie is with child

Ah that reminds me, I was going to put up a thing that I was minded of by 2p's pic. I'll go find it now.
Snipe Dale is beautiful, I recommend it to anyone. Dunno if it's worth a 5.5hr drive though
