I never give the DWP or their third parties anything but my address. if they want to contact me it's either a letter I go to them.
How is this relevant? The OP already has given DWP their contact details - and when claiming PIP you have to do it by phone unless you have a very good reason for not being able to.

You don't need to send a SAR, just asking for a copy of the report will do (but chase it up if it takes a long time to arrive - sometimes they say they've actioned it but for whatever reason it hasn't). Still quicker than waiting for them to respond to a SAR though. Claimants should also know what evidence they've based it on because they usually only look at what evidence the claimant themselves sent in, it's extremely rare for them to contact any medical professionals named on the claim form.

Send the DWP a SAR ( SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST) and ask for a copy of the report done on the date in question at the time in question and copies of any evidence they used.
Just request a copy of the report.
Absolutely no need to do a SAR to get a copy - that will only add confusion and delay matters.

Why would the OP need a SAR for a PIP claim?

Assessment lasted well over an hour .
Can’t really say how it went she asked so many questions and it’s really confused me .
I haven’t claimed down to any physical disability and it is all mental health but she asked how I get into a car , and then said I put in my form I get dizzy and pain with cooking . I said I don’t get pain and haven’t wrote that and asked her where it said that on the form and she just said it’s not important and she may have got it mixed up because she reads these forms all day long . It’s very concerning .

thanks poppy I will give them a call in a week . She said she was sending it over today and to wait 6-8 weeks for an envelope to drop through the post

so now it’s the dreaded wait 🙈
Pretty shocking really... these are meant to be healthcare professionals who have properly read through the form before the assessment. They have a duty of care and this kind of buffoonery and incompetence is precisely the sort of of thing that could put people at risk. So yes concerning... however hopefully you managed to convey good information despite their failings and as above.. request copy of the assessment report from DWP this week.

  • I called yesterday and requested a copy of the report . She said she has left a note for herself on the system to check Friday and send it out if it has been recieved by then . She said to warn me that the decision maker may find desrepancies between the evidence I’ve provided and the assessors report and make their own decision so not to go by the report and it’s likely to change . So just got to hang in there now and wait .

Thanks for all your help and advice guys and gals , much appreciated xx

Firstly, when they add a note to the computer to send the report out once it's received, i can honestly tell you don't believe them. This often doesn't happen and it's very likely they won't do that. Which is why i advised to wait a week before ringing to request the report. They won't send it out until both copies have been received.
It's rare they send reports back to the health assessment providers, although it can happen.
Mostly they go with the report, it's even more rare they go against it. Yes, you'll need to wait for the decision to made but you'll have some idea what the decision will be by adding up the recommended points in the report.

  • Why not wait for the decision before you ask?

You might be causing yourself extra stress by fretting over something when you don't know how the decision maker has marked it?

I had a telephone ESA assessment a few weeks back and just received a letter stating that I got moved from the WRAG to Support Group so you know......... took me while to understanding as I'm more use to failure followed by Tribunal decisions  over the past 10 years!
  • I will wait till Tuesday and make a follow up call , thanks poppy.
Thanks speedfreek .. my anxiety can get the better of me I’m afraid and I start thinking the worst outcome possible and how if it’s bad news i need to know know so I can try and cope and deal with it . It’s hard to explain to be honest , but thanks for the advice

My thinking was that if the report looked bad I could start preparing to request a Mandatory Reconsideration. As it turned out I got the decision before the report was even sent out (had to chase that - it wasn't sent out the first time they said they would) which totally took me by surprise.

Edit: but different things work for different people. Some do better if they don't know until anything's definite.
