Good morning! 😁
Paid stuff today - baby is napping 😊 Wet & windy here too. I left for my dog walk at the same time as DS left for work. The dog refused to walk down the road! He kept looking for DS & I managed to literally drag him about 200yds! 😂 He walked back, but we passed the house and he dutifully did his poo near the dog poo bin. We then went home - his loss!
DH put a bolognese in the SC before he went to work, and WULTD. I need to empty the DW.
Yesterday was a good day - I won the bonus draw on the free postcode lottery! Plus bonus I won £68! I also found my premium bonds in the box I was sorting,so checked them. Alas, no wins there (in over 50 years! 😂). No point cashing them in - I only have £2 😂😂 More good news in the money stakes (drumroll please....) I paid off my mortgage yesterday!!! 🎉🎉🎉 It was down to 3 figures, so didn't take much. And to top it off, I got a surprise email from the council. They still had money left after giving out the grants as not enough people claimed, so they sent me the same amount again!! Why do I feel guilty about that? Others had the opportunity, but didn't take it. I will spend wisely....
Have a good day everyone!
Hugs to those that need them x7 -
1 mattress and a dead carpet washer taken to the tip.. and while waiting I remembered they have started a charity shop collection point there.. saved an additional trip to the chazzers where there might not have been anywhere to park.. definite bonus there! 7 binbags and 2 carriers of gubbins dropped at the charity bins..
OH tasked with de-icing the fridge.
I am going to sort the ebeasty piles, package 3 items to post, package a bunch of bras to Smalls for All.. I have some new pants to send too which hopefully will help some older and younger ladies out.I am starting to see areas of less clutter .. I think I have just moved one problem to add to a lesser problem creating one huge problem area rather than 2 small ones.. but with time during the day I am battling my way through it and we are seeing change.
OH is next off on Tuesday so I have the old bathroom cupboard to empty so we can tip that and Boogs old mattress will be able to go then too.. FLING!! I have replaced everyones mattress now so they are good for a few years. I can then focus on the drylining/plastering in Moomins room as my next big project.. I need a couple of quotes first though.
Loo.. cuppa.. bedroom.. and I have 1 hour and 15 minutes.. let's go make a difference!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -

GI.. many congrats on mortgage free!!! 2 of my girls have won on bonds.. Dot got £100 and Squeak got £25
Girls collected. I have another half a binbag for CS just from looking through ebeast stuff.. I have emptied a basket and one small stacking box and photographed more items.
Having a cuppa then feeding the pinks and need to put away the washing and see if I can find at least a little bit of bedroom.. it is a total swamp in there.. and OH has decided the homebrew needs doing in my room.. great!
Carpet fitter messaged re the stairs.. I've put it off long enough and the £96 refund from Squeak residential will cover it.. not had the money since December so I doubt I will miss it.

[Limps in and flumps onto sofa]
Well, that was a week, apparently.
A week in which I have had children appearing in my office (where they are not allowed, they know this, the other staff know this and the parents know this) to say they don't feel well and then wait until I've got close enough to take their temperature to cough over me. Every. Single. Day.
One's parent said when collecting that they were going for a test on the way home. 'Oh, that was quick'. 'I booked it on Friday'. So they had symptoms on Friday, but you've still sent them in to potentially infect 200+ kids and me for half the week?
Several insisting their kids have colds, so that's why they're coughing. Could be. But they're coughing. The rules don't say 'self isolate and book a test if they're coughing except if you decide their cough isn't a cough wot counts and then send them in to be around others'.
Another had the test last week but kept it a secret until they found out there was a Maths assessment next lesson.
The usual assorted tummy aches, headaches, I Feel Sick and I need to go home, as it's getting worse not better except when the bell rings for lunchtime and it instantly resolves. A couple of heads put under the hot tap to try and get sent home. The thermometer sees through that. It's exactly why I put an order in for one with a switch for surface temperature and body temperature. And the ones who only coughed when they thought somebody was looking at them and then sounded consumptive for ten seconds.
'Did x cough at all in your lesson today?' 'Oh yeah, all the time'. 'So you didn't think to follow the procedure?' 'They didn't look ill, they were just coughing'. Another shouting at me about why I hadn't sent everybody home (including them) and my incompetence was going to kill people. Umm, because the kid you're yelling at me about had period pains and you're listening to 12 year olds gossiping?
The usual heartrending kids with MH issues, letting on about what it was like for them out of school, bereaved kids, those just barely managing to get through each day.
And a shedload of extra work being demanded with not enough time to complete it, no appreciation of boundaries (like my break) and an expectation that I will run around the site in the p*ssing rain, infiltrating bubbles left, right and centre, because it's just me. I sent emails instead.
I'm tired, hormonal, ache from my waist down, looking slightly motheaten due to Psoriasis on my scalp and until I put the heating on ten minutes ago, absolutely freezing.
House looks alright, though. A bit of wiping of surfaces, one load of washing, and hopefully, a lot of sleeping for the next two days.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll8 -
Fairly normal week then Jojo??.. Those ones with MH/bereaved children just break my heart.. you can't fix it with a wet paper towel and it is so hard just watching.
Box of bras has become a bigger box of bras and lots of shiny new undies.. I NEED room!!
I have filled another binbag for CS and started one for DD1 and one for my sisters friend.
I filled half a recycle bin emptying boxes of christmas presents and putting them all in a bigger box.
Twinkles bedding all changed due to wee.. not sure whose or whats but it is clean and smelling nice again now.2x WMI emptied lunch bags but not had time to do the DW
Another box of ebeast stuff found, I will photograph tomorrow.
I have put away several mountains of clean washing and found 2 of the 3 ebeast items I need to post.. where the third one has escaped to is anyones guess, but I know I have it somewhere... if you were a white cardboard box about 10"x10"x1.5" where would you be if you weren't in the place you were supposed to be? I found Pixies school bookbag, but not the gingerbread man plate..OH de-iced the fridge earlier and wiped it all out so that looks lovely and roomy again now.
My room is now looking VERY dishevelled but I have a little bit more room and hopefully now I have made a start continuing will be less of a chore. My mother came round earlier and said the house is 'full' (no sheep sherlock!) I said actually is is vastly improved and most of the stuff which is 'out' is leaving.. I think she may have not seen it when it was actually bursting a few weeks ago before I started my crazy flinging.
Starting to build OH's to-do list for when he is off next week.. 2 large mirrors to put up.. I have had them 13 years, cf asked me for them when he moved into his house in 2009 and I said no I was putting them up.. They are not yet up.. one outside the bathroom and the other I would like in the hallway but I have a house full of nitwits and I am certain it would end up broken.. Tip run (mattress, batroom unit, and CS stuff.. I am so happy they have a CS collection point at the tip, it is so much more accessible) Ikea vanity unit too maybe, if Moomin and Meem have emptied it.

Morning all.
(((Hugs))) to Jojo - glad you can rest this weekend xx
Congratulations GI on becoming mortgage free! Sounds like it's been a good week for you xx
Nothing much more of note happened yesterday except that I picked up my prescription, took one of the stronger painkillers at bedtime as advised, and haven't slept any better for it
It's wet and windy again, so another indoor day. So far this morning I have made a cuppa, FUPA all DH's clean T-shirts, and checked finances. Managed to get a message to JustPark, asking why they have charged me 1p separately on my debit card, in addition to the full fee of £1.40, for parking in the market town on Thursday. I was frustrated by the form on their website which would not scroll down, which meant I couldn't click on Send, so I downloaded the app to see if that was any better. Fortunately it was, so I'm now waiting for their response. Hardly worth it for 1p, but I am always suspicious of what this sort of thing might lead to.
I must sort out some papers (not done yesterday because breakfast intervened), pack up DDiL1's birthday gift for tomorrow, and write a couple of other cards to be posted next week. Then I might be able to do some sewing.
ETA: Satisfactory reply received from JustPark - it was a test to confirm that my bank details were correct and my bank would allow the larger transaction, and will be automatically removed from my bank statement. Worth an ask to put my mind at rest!8 -
Morning all xx
Has anyone seen Weekend Willi? She's needed chez Roundtuit. I am tired of being tired. I've made my bed and had a brew - now tempted to crawl back in to bed. I've slept through the night three nights in a row, and woken up feeling tireder than ever three mornings in a row. What is going on? I don't feel ill - just t-i-r-e-d!
Note to self: drink more water / eat less crap - that might help!
Hope you are all well. I've read the thread but don't seem to have absorbed anything so I'm sending hugs, spoons, flylady dust and no, sorry, no spoons - I need them...extra hugs and flylady dust then xx
I'm going to expend some energy on having a shower - see if that energises me somewhat? Oh, but I hate the drying part - there's just so much of me!!!
Right. Enough. Plan: 1. Shower 2. Dress.
