Zilch flying here today. Oooh no, DD changed her bedding, so that counts, right??
I worked at home today as I’ve been spluttering and snivelling a bit, having finally got a bit of DD’s cold. I can’t ever remember in my life not going into work when I’ve just had a bit of a cold, but here we are. If it keeps everyone happy that I’m not spreading my germs, then so be it. Whether or not I am allowed to go into job 2 tomorrow is another question.8 -

Only other things I've done today are a run and some washing up.
Need to do an invoice and check tomorrow's lesson plan later.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Signing in late ...
Glad to hear you're all free of the lurgy, asb. Hope your colds get better quickly.
Today's achievements:
- cleaned all through, except the bits I did yesterday
- removed the torn fabric cover, stripped off about 6 layers of hessian, wadding and webbing from my mother's ancient footstool and took it back, in true Repair Shop style, to the wooden framework, removing about 100 tacks in the process, then filled the tack holes and sanded down. Hoping I can re-cover it, although it looks as if it was made by someone who was only just learning to use a saw and hammer - I honestly think DGD2 (8) could do better. But it's part of my family history, so of sentimental value. I know that it was last re-covered by my favourite aunt about 40 years ago.
- measured DH's car to check that the three narrow bookcases will fit in (yes, if we don't both attempt to get in the car as well), so that we can take them to DGS3
- bagged up small cardboard boxes and other packing material to take to the CS's eeebygum sales warehouse tomorrow
- coordinated diaries with DH
- did WMx4, of which one load is drying on the airer in the bathroom and the rest will be hung outside tomorrow
- zzz after lunch
- took Rosie for her walk and met Zola, another Romanian rescue
- made oodles of yummy macaroni cheese for our evening meal, because I hadn't got a lot else in the fridge - it was very nice with soft-boiled eggs, a couple of chorizo slices and salad
- did very little this evening except drool over Nadiya's chocolate and custard cake
See you tomorrow xx7 -
This week it's my Thursday off so I'm planning on getting various jobs done and the house in order. Colleagues, one of whom is PG, have requested banana loaf so I shall knock one up.

That was fortuitous - got up, showered, dressed, came down, picked up mobile. Mobile rang - water meter man. So, while I was waiting for him to arrive I pegged out the washing (not much, but I'm at home today and rain is forecast after today) and started prepping the banana loaf. He came, tested, said I could have a meter - then fitted it there and then!
So banana loaf now in the oven and washing up started. Black bin brought back in. Stuff flung into compost bin. And I must write my list for today.

Been to tesco.. bought SDad christmas toblerone... they had an orange one!! Some christmas bags for presents. Also got a few bits for the girls.. my dainty little 7 year old some 11-12 tights! .. the 9-10's are falling down and pulling her droops down too.. and topped up the car.
While stood outside school a police van pulled up and counted us lol.. took them ages!
Squeak and Twinkle are going to their friends (the friends are in the same 2 classes) for dinner tonight so OH and I are taking the other 2 out to his place of work for food..
OH is fiddling in the garden today and I am going to have a look at some flinging in a bedroom.. mine or the girls.. not quite sure which yet but I am fed up of the mess and we have a tip run planned tomorrow and a mountain of charity shop stuff to go too.. that will be sorted once the boot is emptied of mattresses!
OH also has a few bits to fling in the loft.
I have a parcel to post and some more ebeasty stuff to list. Aiming for £250 in October too.. I doubt it will anywhere near £700 like September but it will all help. I need to replace Twinkles coats so her old ones can be sold and I have a replacement part to purchase for the pushchair (£33) and that can be sold on too.. it is beautiful but taking up lots of room and no one is having babies anytime soon.. if I get even 1/4 what I paid for it I will be a happy bunny! I also have a little buggy which can go.. Cath Kidston red polka dots.. love it, but don't need it. I will keep the other one a bit longer then it can go to charity shop.3 loads of washing hung out.. it is very bright here today but not much warmth or wind so how much it will dry is anyone guess.Waiting for my wrapping paper parcel to be delivered.. SQUEE!!

Good morning (just!)
Dog walked, poo picked up in the garden, 1st of the month money juggle done, emails checked. Paid stuff today - baby has been screaming again, but he is asleep now so I am chilling!
I have put the new cosy toes on the buggy (I hate doing that - such a faff!) & just finished looking through the first box. Everything has had dust blown/wiped off it. Most of it was toot from 2004/5, including school reports, Easter cards, pension booklets & some bills/bank stuff. Also various unfinished art & craft projects, kids artwork & guidebooks/post cards from places we have visited. I have stopped buying guidebooks, as they just gather dust! (as I have just proved!!) I will check with DH which stuff he wants to keep (he will say all of it - except my stuff of course!!) I have binned some bits, and have a small pile for the CS.
Cleaning question - aimed at those who do crafting/cross stitch mainly! I have found a cross stitch project (about 85% complete). It is dusty and a bit discoloured, especially the edges. Can this be washed? It would be nice to finish it off, and then give away. I think it was probably started about 20 years ago!! 😱 I am so bad at finishing things 😭 Hopefully someone can advise 😊
Ok - break over. I need to sort lunch for these 2 munchkins. Have a good day everyone!7 -
GI, you can wash the cross stitch no problem, the thread is supposed to be ok up to 90 degrees but i wouldn't like to test that. I usually hand wash them then hang them out to dry or lay flat on a towel and roll it to soak up the wetness.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:8

I use to soak wash my tapestries when I did them, the lay flat on a towel to dry, outside if the weather was ok on a table.Money checked and sorted, old receipts that I kept during lock down for the rental etc now shredded, receipts for items for new house filed away, just in case of any claim or guarantee issues within a year or so.Banana eaten.Valli take a photo of the water meter for the serial number and the opening reading, (Just in case) you have any issues with bills etc.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
