Sun out, blue skies, wm back on with a load of towels in, in a race to get it hung outdoors before it gets too cold again. DD back from school, and I sat in the car park reading my book while I waited for her. A right indulgence, even if I did get strange looks occasionally from passing coach drivers.
I need to update the Mr M order for tomorrow, although it is already long and expensive enough, order the garlic for planting, and sort out some cooking prep.
Well done on the sales, Piggers. And also for actually having ideas for the presents.6 -
Back from work
Dinner sorted for tonight, dinner sorted for tomorrow
Washed up

Another one of mine just had +ve c19 test, she is 15 so will be absolutely fine.. not even sure who has and has not had it now lol.. *praying for karma*.. I knew I should have written it all down..
Dinner done and scoffed.. Dot then had cereal and an apple and is still howling for more food.
After my snotty email to school.. yes another one.. Dot has been chewing her hair less at school since she has been allowed her chewing necklace.. told them so!!! I put in the ASD forms she was not allowed them at school so it is an official document so that produced a rapid turn around!
DS1 is 29 today... I can't believe it was so long ago.. he was the most gorgeous baby.. I made a lot of mistakes with him I wish I could go back and fix.. the first thing would be getting rid of cf out of his life. CF hasn't even sent a text saying happy birthday never mind anything else.
I need to do pack ups, DW, laundry shuffle and get the girls to bed. I am going to write OH a list for the next 2 days while he is off

A very grateful and thankful Narc0 here - the local plumbing/heating people have inspected and discussed our Stanley ranges and are confident they can install and maintain it for us. As they were standing on the drive discussing it, Mr N took a call from our previous, sadly bankrupt engineer and he has agreed with no hesitation to act as consultant to the local guys if they have any queries. I'm just so relieved. It wasn't just the cost of potentially scrapping both ranges and getting a new boiler and cooker, I've just always had the Stanley for the 30+ years we've lived here; the kitchen and our lives are designed round it!
Apart from that:
- 1 load washing done
- been swimming, had coffee with swimming buddies
- been round M£t£lan with voucher in hand and got a few things for us, the house and the charity Christmas boxes. We have a week's grace on those as my brother doesn't have enough work near us to need to lodge here so he won't collect them till next week. Sorted them out and have a smaller list of a few things to get from Mr A or similar.
- Nearly finished organising going-back-to-work bag for tomorrow. Have got student paperwork ready, separated into what I will touch and what she will touch. I've emailed her to check she is ok and to outline the precautions which are in place.
- filled bird feeder
- picked spinach for dinner
That's about it for now although the night is yet young if you're an owl like me.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
fabulous news Narco.. I am so pleased for you!!!!!
Pack ups done, WM's on, uniforms half found no undies and Dot will currently only wear one pair of socks and they are in the washing machine!
Getting those running and then sitting down with my knitting, I want to finish Twinkles hat.. She wanted a pink one with a pomblepom lol

Hi all
Stressful day at work, ever so slightly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff that I need to get through before I am on holiday next week. Came home feeling rubbish and DS1 instructed me to sit down while he sorted tea, I had put a chicken in the SC first thing. Full roast dinner done by DS while he chattered away non-stop, he made me feel so much better, I am one lucky Mum.
So no flying done today, other than a load of washing put in and the kitchen cleaned after DS1s cooking.
Fayolle I remember when DS2 started having golf lessons on a Saturday morning when he was about 6 or 7. The golf course was too far away to go there and back twice so I used to take my book and a flask of coffee and sit in the car for an hour - it was heaven!!
I had this idea about buying some decent wellies for site visits at work, who knew there were so many different types - and the prices!!! £150 for a pair of wellies!!! Will browse a bit more.7 -
Half way through the week, hooray! I'm up, showered and dressed. Bed room tidied and windows upstairs all wide open whilst I have breakfast. DW unloaded by OH.
Working most of the day today which wasn't planned but nothing too stressful, an adult lesson this morning where I just check how she's been getting on with the online training and answer questions and give her more examples and then try to encourage general conversation to boost her confidence. Not seen her since before lockdown so she should have plenty to talk about and I have a few topics up my sleeve; enviroment etc Afternoon will be spent doing admin at work and making sure the right kids go to the right groups at the right time. Staggered starting times to allow for cleaning and to avoid groups crossing each other has made it even more confusing especially for parents with more than one child, they used to start at the same time but now start 15 minutes appart.
Much too much waffle from me
Have a good day and keep SMILING

I'm here! Just. Will read back later. Sounds like lots of hugs needed, so flinging them out. Catch what you need xxx7

Morning all,
A hectic 24 hours. DD has had a cold and has the dregs of a cough with it, she's been like that since she went back to school. School decided yesterday to send her home, as well as DS who has NO symptoms at all. They flat out refuse to accept them back without a negative test result. I argued I couldn't get DS tested as you're only allowed a test if you have symptoms, they said 'tough, he needs one'. So I had to fib. Because of where I work if they get tested I have to as well so that was yesterday evenings joy (not). It's absolutely unpleasant.
Hoping for test results tonight/tomorrow. Kids absolutely fine, as am I, so we are climbing the walls. Pouring with rain too. Anxiety through the roof, suppose I should attempt flying to combat it.
We live in a crazy world.6 -
Good morning!
I am up, dressed & had breakfast. I am supping my cuppa & gathering my thoughts about what I want to achieve today. I will make a little listy and see how I get on. I will still have Wednesdays off for the next month or so, because the mum of the 2 little boys I should have has been put back on furlough (was supposed to return next week). I need to make the best use of that time!
Round 1
Check bank accounts & emails
Empty DW
Put on WM
Other jobs for today (putting them here to be accountable & so I don't forget!)
Empty & sort at least one box in bedroom
Clean downstairs toilet & sink
Clean bathroom
Phone cable co. re broadband/billing - hoping to haggle!
Empty food bin
Walk dog (long walk - good for us both!)
Small food shop at Mr Als
I am sure there is more!! I may try to pop to the allotment if the weather holds.
YL re boots: have you looked at equestrian type yard boots? I have a pair of wellies that are actually riding boots (bought when I was taking lessons a few years back). They were from G0 0utd00rs & considerably less that £150! They are waterproof and adjustable, so actually fit my calves! I found it really hard to find boots that fit!! They were a godsend during the Beast from the East!!
ASB fingers crossed that you get your results quickly & they are negative
OK - enough procrastinating, I need to move!!
