Morning all
My vague plans for the day (paperwork, a bit of cooking to make the week easier etc etc) look to be scuppered. DH wants to “start clearing the loft” 😳. Prior experience tells me that this will be started, stopped for coffee, and not restarted, but still leaving carp like you have never seen all over the place. We have the contents of both my parents’ houses, plus his parent’s house, plus various other of his relatives’ “stuff”. I may be some time.....Round - glad you are feeling better. I have checked the shed and can confirm that Weekend Willi must be on his way back north 🤣 x
Apparently another restorative cuppa is needed before Operation Loft can begin.6 -
The sun is shining here - so yesterday's washing was shuffled indoors and today's first load has been pegged out. Second load is coming to the end of it's cycle so that can go out too; then I'll set the next load swishing and go round to Dad's for a coffee. He phoned yesterday, fed up with the grey murky weather and being home alone and I said I'd go round this morning - I just didn't have anything left in my batteries to 'give' any more yesterday. I think I'm 'charged' enough to sit and listen for an hour this morning.
I'll change Sweetie's seed and water while I wait for the WM to stop swishing. Good idea.

carpet fitter ignored my message.. he could have at least said no thanks.. I hate it when people just ignore you when you're offering them work. Anyway, found another.. a friend of a guy I was at school with .. small town.. messaged him after a mini-anxiety attack.. like he is going to leap out of the laptop and bite me or message telling me to bog off I'm too horrible lol..
Phone charging upstairs so I've not had chance to check the ebeasty stuff.. I have to load the DW, make banana muffins and apple twinks for pack ups.. and get those made up.
Laundry shuffling now DS1 has gone to work and I can get to the airers.
Boogs mattress still on schedule to be delivered tomorrow. I asked for the bedroom to be tidied yesterday so we can get the mattress in and remove the stuff which belongs to DD's 1 & 2 but obviously that is too much to ask!
I want to fill a CS binbag today.
so..
DW
Lunch
DW again
LaundryBaking/packupsCS bag
.. that should keep me occupied for a few hours.
Adding something else.. sorting savings plan for next year.. I have holidays and christmas to pay for.. I was thinking of running the 1p challenge from November so 12 months from there would mean I had it to spend for christmas, plus my usual christmas ebeasting should get me somewhere close to where I need to be. I don't use cash so mu change jar only fills up from roadkill.Glad to hear you are feeling more like yourself RoundLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)5 -

I have no idea what is wrong with me.. I have had rage for nearly a week and the children are driving me insane with their noise, they claim they are singing, all I hear is screaming and squawking and shrieking, I am also really suspicious of OH with no justification whatsoever.. I'm sure they are no different to what they normally are but I am so intolerant of noise and touch and being alive in general at the moment.. I am so obviously not myself DS2 who is as observant as a blind man in a cupboard asked if I am ok!
There.. I have said it.. I know it is all in my head.. I am wondering too if it is a culmination of events or if it is a hormonal shift being of an age..
going back to my kitchen flingage... and whatever other waste of time I am filling my day with.. that is pretty much how I feel about my entire life at the moment.

Sorry to butt in - I am a lurker on this thread who admires all of you so much for the sheer amount of work you all do daily 👏
However reading pigpen’s post I just had to ‘speak’ out
pigpen, You are a TREASURED person & I wish I could give you many, many hugs. *Is there anywhere you can hide in your home? - lock the door, beverage of your choice, headphones on with your favourite music & breathe. Concentrate on the nice memories that the music evokes, sip your drink, let everyone else go hang.*
I think quite a few of us are feeling like this, we appear to have no control over anything. I also have the feeling that you are like me in that worry translates into anger/rage at the world. Then I get angry at myself for feeling angry - a vicious circle But I do find that the above *....* helps.I really do wish I could offer practical help.Mrs Salad DodgerBe Kind. Stay Safe. Sometimes intolerance of noise can come with a decline in your hearing, Piggers, because the additional racket makes it impossible for you to hear/focus on what you need, which means you're trying to work out what is going on, especially if people do that maddening thing of mumbling, speaking really quickly, turning their face away from you as they speak or deliberately covering their mouth or making sound without actually moving their lips and what drives me to fury, refusing to repeat what they said.
When I finally got to silence, rather than the racket of the toxic job, traffic and constant TV, computer, music and everything else, I realised that the 'hiss' in my left ear wasn't the sound of a transformer plugged in behind me, but something that followed me around everywhere - Tinnitus. Add in a cold/sinus thing and I was completely disorientated and couldn't function with any additional 'background' noise at all.
Also, if you're losing some of the sound, it makes you more sensitive to being grabbed at, as it's coming more out of the blue than when you could hear an approach before - and children clambering on to you still shrieking hurts your ears so much.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll7 -
Juice measured out - there was just over 4 pints (I do a pint of liquid to a pound of sugar as it's so easy to remember - goodness knows what it would be in grammes and ml) but some very fine 'solids' had also come through the straining net so I decided, for a nice clear jelly, to fling the sediment. I put the chillis in (on offer at Lidl so I was very pleased with that) and the jelly has gone a lovely red colour and is now setting. And it's clear, too.
Then I put a double batch of carrot and coriander soup on. Brought washing in as there was a cloud so black over my house you'd think my son was called Bill! Not bone dry, but dry enough to iron and leave to air.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

7 full suitcases, 6 spare dining room chairs (anyone else have a full set of dining room chairs in their loft? No, I thought it would just be me), and 2 massive storage crates dragged from the loft. Everywhere is now a pigsty. I have filled a bag for the cs (our’s are only open to donations by appointment, so who knows when that will leave), a bag of good as new books for school, one set of new riding clothes for DH to
list on the local FB page (I don’t have fb, so there’s another job that might not happen anytime soon).
Made a start on the tax return frog and did some money shuffling.
Dinner is in the sc, just need to sort out what we are having with it.
DH is coming very close to being throttled. Lockdown / wfh / etc etc is not working well for us right now...😡7
