I appreciate it must be frustrating dealing with first time 'offenders'It can be at times.I rarely help second time 'offenders', especially those I've given my energy and effort into helping previously! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Umkomaas said:1, 1a, 2 - too late. They won't communicate sensibly to help you. Issue a SAR if you want to filibuster this nearer to your substantive move to France. They have 30 days to respond, and most take that amount of time. How to issue a SAR is detailed in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, second post.Would you say it's advisable to do so? Would such a delay increase the penalty charge? What are my other options - just wait for notice of court action? If they issue that before I move to France then what?Guess I'm struggling to know what to do for the best.

1 & 2 - thank you3 - OK, I get where you're coming from but it's hard to break the habit of a lifetime and NOT question things on the internet.Yes, am likely overthinking this whole thing, borne out of mild panic probably. At least I'm less inclined to just pay up right now, so thanks for that! Will look into the SAR thing tomorrow.1

By all means question what you find on the internet, just do not question the advice issued by the regular members on here that have spent years advising people on this topic, plus do not make silly assumptions based on ignorance of this topic , plus dont guessand there is no PENALTY charge , its a Parking Charge Notice , a PCN , WHICH IS AN invoicethe PPC,s are banned from using official legal words like FINE or PENALTY4

Just send the address change (when appropriate) to privacy@initialparking.co.uk that is the way to contact their data protection officer.5

So, one week on and no luck with locating the original PCN/NTK. My letting agent confirms the tenant has been away for last week. It's possible I may hear something tomorrow but meanwhile I have prepared the following SAR letter to the DPO at Initial Parking, which I intend to send by email by the end of tomorrow if I've heard nothing from my letting agent. I also added that I have not received any PCN/NTK, hence the SAR. I'd very much appreciate the panel's comments. Many thanks.

Dear Sir or Madam
As the registered keeper of vehicle [reg no.] I recently received a ‘Demand for Payment – Unpaid Parking Charge Notice’ from Debt Recovery Plus on your behalf for a PCN: [pcn number] dated 11/07/2020 at Fistral Beach, Newquay, TR7 1HY.
I have not received any such PCN or NTK and this is the first notification I have had of this alleged charge.
Accordingly, I now require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close-up photograph of the actual sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle.
If the allegation concerns a PDT machine, the data supplied must include the record of payments made - showing partial VRNs - and an explanation of the reason for the PCN.
If the allegation involves an alleged overstay of minutes, your evidence must include the actual grace period agreed by the landowner. To formalise this request I am hereby submitting a SAR as follows:
Subject Access Request (Data Protection Act 2018 / General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR))
[My full name and address]
Please supply the data about me that I am entitled to under data protection law relating to myself. This must include, as a minimum:
- A full copy of the alleged PCN and NTK
- ALL photos taken
- All letters/emails sent and received
- Any PDT machine record from that day, of payments made for VRN [reg no.]
If you need any more data from me to confirm my identity please let me know as soon as possible. It may be helpful for you to know that data protection law requires you to respond to a request for data within one calendar month.
If you do not normally deal with these requests, please pass this letter to your Data Protection Officer, or relevant staff member. If you need advice on dealing with this request, the Information Commissioner’s Office can assist you. Its website is ico.org.uk or it can be contacted on 0303 123 1113.
Yours faithfully

Have now received a 'Final chance to pay' letter from DRP - quite threatening about recommending that their client (Initial parking) starts court action but now giving me extra time to pay. I've already emailed the above SAR letter to the Initial parking DPO. My letting agent tells me they've collected my un-redirected post (redirection now back in place) and have posted it to my parents address, but I've not yet seen it so still have no details of the PCN. Also, no feedback about my SAR letter posted last week, which is a little disconcerting.Questions:1. Is the above SAR letter ok?2. Do I still ignore the DRP letters? Thanks for any help - still somewhat nervous about all this.0
