I read in a Gardening Magazine that you can train Bindweed to climb up a Garden cane then soak it with Tumbleweed (Glyphosate). You may have to do this a few times as Bindweed roots go very deep.
Dont get Glyphosate on any of your plants as it will kill them.

Morning All. Washing out, bread in and just having my second coffee while I think about tonight's meal. Then it's the garden for me, a bit of deadheading the poppies then I shall talk to my tomatoes. Have a nice day!

A tip I was given was to mix the tumbleweed or similar weedkiller with a bit of wallpaper paste to make it thicker and then brush it onto the leaves and it works better.

What are you lot like? 6 am? I only ever saw that time of day when I worked shifts! Except, I'm always awake by that time, just being jumped on by overly energetic boys, despite the fact I'm still suffering from sticky ear syndrome :D

By this time, we're breakfasted and DS1 is off to school and I come on here to pick up emails and check here for useful tips as I finish my invigorating cup of hot water .... detox going OK , ta.

Today - swimming with DS2 at 10.15, usual round of chores, must wash kids bedding and we're having a BBQ tonight, so need a quick trip to shop. May tackle some gardening, but it's not brill being UV intolerant, can't spend any great time in the sunshine. Where's my total block?....*goes off to find it*....

I am planning to cook herb crusted cod, with new potatoes for tea tonight.

Heres hoping the sun comes out in suffolk.

I had an old-style Wednesday evening though! (I can't join in the Thursday Morning bit, I'm at work about to go into an IT workshop for the day...what am I doing??!!)

But last night I strimmed the lawn (okay, strimming not very old style, really! I'd love an old rotary mower; it's a postage stamp lawn!!), then planned to dig some manure into the tomato bed to plant out my VERY leggy toms! But I found the evil tree in the garden has put out roots all the way into it over the Autumn and Winter!!! Aarghhh!! So I'm waiting for my boyfriend at the weekend so we can dig the soil out, line with plastic and hopefully form a barrier to the evil tree.

Then I came in and put the bread machine on while I made banana oat muffins for my mid-morning work snacks, and then made wholewheat bread rolls for work lunches.

Didn't do much else, but I felt productive and the sun was shining.

Wish I was at home today, I have liquid soap to make, plants to put in, watering to do and blackberry preserve to make!!

    Enjoy your Thursday everyone!

ticklemouse.......i'd rather not see that time of day either but dd2 (8 weeks) thinks that 5.30am is a fantastic time to start her day!!! :rotfl:
i shouldnt moan too much though as she sleeps 9pm straight through until 5.30.
3rd lot of washing just gone out on line......post put on to debt free wannabe-god that was depressing _pale_ ......just about to sort out tonights meal then after that im going to start getting stuff ready for ebay,my baby is 8 weeks and just gone into 3-6 months clothes so got all the first two clothes sizes(mind you being born at 9lb 4.5oz i didnt get any use out of my newborn stuff for the second time-dd1 was 9lb 8.5oz) and early baby equipment to list.
and dd1 has just asked if she can make daddy a cake....god knows why but its in old style and will keep her occupied. :T

    I've been Money Tipped!
Morning all! Well I've put a load of washing on, had breakfast and looked at the breadmaker but that is far as I've got :o I am trying to build up courage to go into garden as I have been awake since 5.30 with dreadful hayfever so I think the garden will have to wait until medication finally kicks in! Thank goodness for mse as at least I can do money saving research and still feel useful!
