Read the court order and it should tell you what to do but it is normal for a CCJ not to go on your record if it is paid before the date set by the judge. A set-aside costs £275 these days but if you can get help with fees due to being out of work or in receipt of benefits for example it might be worth a try.3

As above, if you pay VCS within the time on the court order there should be no CCJ left.
You could in the alternative, apply to set aside judgment, citing CPR 13.3 (other good reasons to set aside) but the application fee is £275.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you very much for replies and for confirming the deadline on the court order means the CCJ will not go on my credit file if I pay by this date. I am going to have a good think for 24 hours but leaning towards paying the "fine" as I am in full time employment I really cannot afford the set aside application fee of £275.

One more question, do I let the Court know I have paid or will VCS? Thanks

VCS should tell the Court, but can you trust them to do that?
Belts and braces come to mind.2 -
That's what I was worried about, I don't trust them. I'll email the Court and VCS (asking VCS to confirm they have notified the Court). Thank you again
