I signed up for the VirginMedia Community 11 months ago. It has different login details to my VirginMedia Broadband account. I last used the Community a few weeks ago. I signed in successfully this morning but was not allowed to post. I'm not going to bother trying to find out why I can't post. If I need a question answered before I leave I will check to see if someone else has the answer and if not I will contact them by telephone as it is free.

fwiw, I would advise against using any email service provided by the internet provider.

You are best advised to move to a free email service such as Google or Outlook etc (Sign up at mail dot google dot com, outlook dot com etc) which you would be able to use with any internet provider.  It would also avoid the pain of informing friends, relatives and businesses every time you change your address, and losing incoming messages because a contact continues to send messages to your former email address by accident.

If I change to Google or Outlook how do they help with scam emails?
VirginMedia only allow you to blacklist the sender and does not allow you to block the email address. So as we all know the scammers think they are being clever by keep changing their email addresses sometimes only changing one character. Regardless all are getting through to my inbox. When I set up filters this sends the original scam email address to spam or trash but then the changed scammers email addresses get through and I am constantly having to filter the new email addresses.

Email not from an ISP means you are free to move and don't lose Email address .
GMail can trap some spam mail ,but if you want a high level then you need to pay for such a service .
Scam emails are either users address to easy to scam or to many sign ups .
All those that have your current email on a spammers list would not have such on a new email account .
You probably also have a number of free BT emails with new account .

I get very few spam emails ,
Reasons one account for friends and family only  myname@"gmail.com"
Second account home@gmail .com used for all others .
Easy to delete if spammers get hold of it and very very careful with signups .

It could be because I enter a lot of competitions that my email address is falling to the wrong hands.
