DCBL Legal (Letter Of Claim) Help!

Hi,
Back in November 2019, I parked at work but forgot to display my permit. I stupidly accepted that I had parked the vehicle and appealed the fine which was rejected.
I then again parked and forgot to display my permit in January 2020 but never accepted I had parked there.
I saw the best advice was to ignore all further letters which I had done.
However, today, I have received a letter from DCBL Legal entitled 'Letter Of Claim' on behalf of First Parking Llp for £280.00.
I have searched all over Google and the forum, but I don't know what to do now that this has come from DCBL Legal.
Could someone please advise me or point me in the right direction please?

Thanks for your reply but that does not take me to anything helpful...
As mentioned this is also DCBL Legal, not DCBL.

It doesn't take you to anything helpful?  It takes you to a reply giving you a link about what to do when at LBC stage which you will reach soon enough.  Your case is the same, unless you are merely getting the usual DCBL 'recovery' letters and that's fully covered already in the NEWBIES thread. 

Post #4 about ignoring debt letters.  Same as everyone, you reply at LBC stage and that's why you need to read ahead.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, and darfts have beenopened for publc consulatation,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, under new legislation but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Update One:
- I have sent a SAR.
- I have sent an e-mail to my local MP.
- I have asked the campus (where I work) for a supportive letter stating that I have held a permit throughout my employment.

What is the best case scenario for me here? For it to be totally thrown out or for it to be reduced down to like £60 total?

No-one would pay a penny. You are wanting it cancelled.  If the MP and landowner leaning on them doesn't work then win in court and pay nothing, which is what we help people do every week, and have done for years.

As you are at a 'nothing' stage, yet are the victim of a real scam where these firms issue court claims, please spend an afternoon doing THIS:

A TASK FOR SEPTEMBER - NB: this will take an hour or more to go through each section, and to do BOTH consultations:

The Government is (this month only) consulting about a new statutory code of practice (CoP) and framework to rein in the rogue parking firms.  Read and comment on the draft CoP proposal and the enforcement framework consultation, and get everyone you know to do the same.

You will need to register to comment on the CoP and enter an occupation even if you are retired or a homemaker, but otherwise it is easy to navigate, and comment upon each section/subsection individually. You can save comments to edit later and or submit comments once you are happy with them.

Please complete comment on all sections if you have a view, remembering the vision of the Knight Act is to end extortionate parking charges.  If you agree with us, the added fake 'debt recovery' costs are just double counting the cost of letters and MUST GO, along with the robo-claim legal firms. 

A Speeding fine is £100.  A Local Authority lower rate parking penalty is £50.  Which do you think a private PCN should be like?

HOW TO DO THE SUBMISSIONS:

Responses into the PAS 232 and MHCLG framework documents are not completely straightforward:

On the MHCLG response, you have to answer the questions on a 1-5 scale from strongly agree to strongly disagree, and then put some commentary. No way to upload documents or alternatives.

 On the PAS 232, you have to click on each clause and sub-clause to put your comments, and a suggested rewording of their draft.  You can see comments which other people have written! 

 But, when you click ‘submit’, a message pops up to say your comments have been received, but that only applies to the particular clause you have just addressed.

You have to click ‘submit’ separately for each individual clause response.

Some people will be caught out by this but can revisit it and add further responses up to 12 October.

Hi All,
I have had a response from the SAR Request, they have attached the following:

• The originally 'Letter Of Claim'.
• My original letter of the SAR Request.
• A lettered response confirming they cannot provide the requested photographic evidence or any other evidence due to acting on behalf of the client (First Parking Llp).

How should I respond from here?

Is it worth me appealing the claim again before this?
As on the letter I am able to appeal the claim again?
