    Interesting. I had the exact same issue. Had emptied 5 accounts - got to the 6th and got access blocked and had to ring. They reinstated access once I got on the phone - quite quick and easy. She did asked if I wanted to close the accounts but I needed to keep 2 open to fund 2 regular savers so I said no for the moment.
    I sat on hold for 15 minutes before giving up and using the debit card. I'll probably give them another ring at some point to remove the 'block' on the account, just in case I find a use for the account at a later date, although there's no urgency now of course because it's effectively defunct anyway.

    Just to follow up on this, I eventually got around to speaking to TSB to request removal of the account 'block' but was told there was already a note on the account to say that all restrictions had been lifted. Sure enough, I tried a test withdrawal, and it went straight through. Seems I didn't need to contact them after all.
