Did you have a test done? What was the result of your sons test? Well you can’t go back till you the results especially if HR know about it. They will want to see your results.1

A runny nose is not a symptom of COVID but if you have a cold at the same time as COVID then it can be passed on through the runny nose e.g. if tissues are left lying around or if hands aren't washed after the nose is blown.aayush said:
hi I had to advise school son had a temp cough and runny nose last Thursday got a text the school must not come to school till the test is done or till get negative from the resultbradders1983 said:Right so its the school who told you to do it, and NOT the NHS Track and Trace thing?
Probably means the fine isnt relevant then, but do with this info what you will.
Was it a dry continuous cough?
Was his back or chest hot to touch?
If the answer to both of those are no then you could argue your son did not have symptoms of COVID (in accordance with NHS guidelines) and the school were not justified in asking you to self-isolate.1 -
this the response from my employer payroll section
This relates to the self-isolation deduction of 9.5 days from the 17th to the 30th September we also paid him SSP for these days.

You chose to have the 2 weeks off, you should have checked how much SSP was.aayush said:this the response from my employer payroll section

A school told you to have the time off, and not NHS Track and Trace1

The problem is whilst you wait for your test results you need to stay in isolation, and only go back if result is negative or 14 days are up. So I see what OP is saying. You really need to check your workplace policies and take it from there. If it is considered leave because of sickness and for that you only get SSP, sadly that is what happens.1
