can I ask if the above I need to count weekend or working days only re the time of Isolation?

It's days, not working days, so basically 14 calendar days.1

I like the idea of only counting working days if someone only works 2 shifts a week 🤣2

Unless he's been in close contact of someone at work with COVID-19 then the employer should not be mandating a 14 day quarantine and if they are they should pay their employee as normal as the employee is available for work but the employer doesn't want them to come in.
If he's got COVID-19, been contacted by NHS track & trace or been a country where a 14 day self-isolation period is required on return then he's required to self-isolate and his employer doesn't need to request that he does it.1 -
I am having to self isolate as my son had symptoms of COVID 19 thus told to self isolate for 14 days thus my question does 14 days include weekends0

when you take holidays you not inc weekends but the additional days to your holidays

Yes it includes weekends. It’s not a holiday, it’s a self isolation period, not a chance for you to extend your time off.2

If your son has symptoms he is eligible for a test. If he has one and that come backs negative then there's no reason why should need to remain off work as you won't have been in contact with some with COVID but someone who has a cold/fever/throat infection etc.aayush said:as my son had symptoms of COVID 19 thus told to self isolate for 14 days5
