Today I am grateful for there only being 4 other people in the gym, for bargains in liddle, for getting some gardening done and chatting to passing neighbours, for watching Holes with dd, for a mild sunny day.

Gosh turtles, you have been busy this week, so many messages. I am so split this evening - I got my money back from the 'Ry4n and then 5 min later there was an expat fb message that the old country is back in the travel corridor, but with a recommended quarantine at the other end, so I immediately bought a ticket for next week. £20! both ways. But now I feel like an idiot, I can't go there and make everybody ill. I feel very selfish, and I think I will just put the ticket asie and frame it - there you go - a pic of my selfish impulse purchase. Either way I will decide on Saturday, when I have time to think. I've got permission to stay, but the thing is I want to go visit my old mum!
Anyways I am grateful for half term coming up. And in my selfish thoughts I forgot to say that I am appalled by the overall situation in the UK, all of the people now back with more restrictions and so much loneliness, and so many lively hoods lost. Love your peoples virtually or at home. Don't do anything risky, but try not to limit your thinking. It is so important to keep an open mind. Keep walking and keep talking. That was my Thursday waffle.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Yesterday I barricaded myself in my room, moved the bookshelf (cleared the floor, took all the books off, moved smaller pieces of furniture out of the way, moved shelves, put books back), moved the bed (have to clear everything off it, piled the bedding in the new 'corner' in front of the bookcase, pulled the mattress off then got underneath to 'flip' it against the drawers - all so I can move the actual bed with 4 heavy storage drawers full of mum's extra bedding).
I've used some of the toilet roll stash to make a 'headboard', so I have something firm to lean against if I'm sitting up reading, and the tray with my mask on (plus specs etc) sits on top rather than next to me on the bed. Tall reading lamp and my bedside trolley are also behind the bed instead of at the side, so it's easier to get through the door. I am now on the wall side of the bed so if too many things end up on the bed, the 'things' will fall off not me (clinging to the edge of the mattress). It took nearly six hours (I had a bucket for emergencies but not telling if I used it) but the layout is more useful and more open and spacious. I can easily open all the drawers on both sets of drawers. I was going to loop the fairy lights between the folds of the curtains (so they drape when the curtains are closed) but there's only one plug at that end of the room and the fridge freezer is on it. Will have to run the wire from my end of the room (one socket only but I have a bar so my CPAP machine, reading lamp and charging the laptop all plug into it). Hoping to move the table back into the front room today.
It felt so good, doing something for me and clutter clearing must be working as I had 3 empty boxes and 3 empty bags for life when all the general debris was packed up. Tea was leftovers from the day before (enough for me today as well). Did a bit in the garden early on but the weather wasn't great (have a barking cough and the cold and damp didn't help) so must get back to that today, but am definitely going to take time to sort my stuff properly (and move more of mum's into less accessible drawers or the shed if possible). Was finding it difficult to get to stuff I need and falling over things mum 'has to' keep.
I must make time for myself each day and try to have one day a week that is just for doing things I want to do.
Grateful for my own little sanctuary space, good food, reading, puzzles and music.

Good Morning Turtles! Today I will finish off the tiny little bits of jobs that I did most of during the week, and then either got bored of, called away, or rained on. I have a list, and 3 days of half term left, so I have a deadline as well. The weather forecast is quite good for most of today, and so, .... ready.... set.... go!Make today count.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Morning everyone. Ditty I totally hear you re that dilemma - It's such a personal decision isn't it! You have to do what's right for you and no one can tell you what that is.
Today I am also going to run some annoying errands that I've been putting off for weeks (well years) such as getting my hair cut... absolutely hate it!!
Hope everyone has a great Friday!!Student loan £5655

Hi turtles sorry wasn't about yesterday. Had a disaster Weds evening, my car boot lid came down on my head, blood everywhere, really shook me up. I sat still for 1hr with a cold flannel on it to stop the bleeding. Luckily it stopped, white blouse turned red, and kitchen floor. Quite headachey after it and neck hurts still. Large hatchback so very heavy - anyway getting it fixed today parts £30 plus labour, why didn't I get it done last week when it started playing up. Nevermind it could have been worse I could be lying dead on my drive!Had the hairdressers yesterday with lovely bump on head and blood matted hair, did say if he didn't want to do it be fine but he was lovely, gave him a decent tip as I couldn't bear touching my head at all.Grateful forGarage going to fix my car todaylovely hairdresserHead feeling better today.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/225

Hope you’re ok calling.
I think I’m on NSD no 14
Last day of my holiday today. It’s gone so quickly. The Boy came down to drive us back tomorrow to who knows what new restrictions. I must get a plan in place so I have some sort of routine.
We’ve actually spent very little since we came here so the bank balance is looking fairly healthy so I suppose that’s a plus.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Ditty - you never know, but by the time you return home (if you go), the quarantine rules may have changed again! I've not seen my mum since mid-December 2019. I went just before dd broke up , then she didn't want to go to see gma, then I had my hernia op (which knocked me for 6 and I couldn't even carry stuff for an overnight stay + travel by trains/buses/walking, for 6+ weeks). Then covid came. And in the small open gap for visits in the summer, it was just before we went away, then just before dd was having a tooth out, so I couldn't go then either. Mum can't do video calls and her hearing is rubbish, so phone calls are a toughie. However, she is safe and well (no covid in their home). And when I do eventually get to see her, I have to hope that the dementia will mean that she has no concept of just how long it will have been...
