Sounds like the garage changed the oil. It is impossible to run a 1.2 litre with 3 litres of oil missing, it would seize up within 10 miles. Why didn't you contact the dealer as soon as you noticed the fault?0

I did contact the dealer which said to take it to a RAC garage which you have a warranty for.
They checked it out but couldn't pinpoint exactly the people.
They said to drive it until it gets worse then we know what the problem is.

I noted a poster somewhere is the thread about litre of oil being consumed per 600 miles, did me chukkle.
I've yet to met anyone in the pst 25 years plus where a car in good condition consumed oil at almost any
rate never mind at, about 600 miles a litre.
if your car is using oil - check your drive to see if there are any leaks.
car for many uears should not be hardly using any noticeable oil as per servic intervals.0 -
That's pretty standard for VAGsweetsand said:I noted a poster somewhere is the thread about litre of oil being consumed per 600 miles, did me chukkle.

Is it burning oil or leaking?
You probably have killed the engine running it with low oil, if it was leaking from the sump for example then the garage may pay for the sump to be re-sealed, not for a new engine.0 -
Well sweets has never owned a subaru.sweetsand said:I noted a poster somewhere is the thread about litre of oil being consumed per 600 miles, did me chukkle.

You have clearly not owned a modern Peugeot then. The 1.4 and 1.6 Prince engine (also used in the mini) is well known for consuming (burning) excessive amounts of oil. Peugeot state anything upto 1L per 1000 miles is acceptable.sweetsand said:I noted a poster somewhere is the thread about litre of oil being consumed per 600 miles, did me chukkle.

I've had a Vauxhall in the past that seemed to get through oil almost like it did fuel. Owners before me put it in to the garage several times to determine the reason but couldn't find one, no oil stains on the ground and a clean engine.
It was a perfect little car flew through MOT everytimeMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
