    Dear OP
Sorry to hear about your car.
If at all poss and this is to everyone, try and take it back to the garage purchased from.
Give them a chance to sort it. If they can't, then demand a refund.
As you have had it nearly three months you wont get full refund unless the cars been off the road for a long period.
They may offer a different car but then you have a right to refund.
When you are ready to ask for refund, put it in writing as well and ensure they respond in writing.
If you dont mind what car, how old, mileage etc, please if poss.

Ummmm - Neil said it already further up.

With the greatest of respects, why are you talking like you are teaching people things?  A little bit of humility goes a long, long way.  I'm sure you didn't mean to be patronising in any way, but that's how the bit in bold comes across.  I do hope I haven't caused offence...OWO

Just a quick one, since you bought it did you check the oil level?
Your garage charging you for 3 litres of oil is a bit worrying, if they've had to top it up this much it suggests it's been run without any oil in it as they only take 3.25 litres maximun.
Some versions of the 1.2 Puretech are notorious for their levels of oil consumption.

If the dealer gets whiff you've ran the thing for 12 weeks with no oil in it, you'll have a job getting them to take responsibility.
  • I've topped it up twice since I got it but it definitely is consuming a lot.

    How much?

Most manufacturers give 1 litre per 620 miles (1,000km) as acceptable on a new or near-new car.
OTOH, many drivers don't bother checking between services, unless the oil pressure light says there's no pressure because they already ran out.

Is this a change in "normal"?  I have never had any car that actually 'consumed' oil as a regular thing (though I do check).
The only car I had that consumed oil really had a fault in it and consumed a litre or so every day and was an expensive fix.
Maybe the design of the new 'efficient' engines means that they consume oil as well - maybe like the old 2-stroke mopeds?

One litre? There's a fair few cars that will get that milage to a tank of fuel.

If you're asking whether you can return it for a full refund after 12 weeks then the answer is no. We need more details regarding the fault etc and what you've been doing to getting it rectified by the seller.

Outside if 30 days then you must allow the seller a chance to repair the vehicle, they can only have one attempt at this after which you can reject the car but the dealer is entitled to reduce any refund to take into account the usage you've had from the car. As the car is on finance then you'll need to speak to your finance provider.
Where could I find this information as part of my evidence that I do have the rights to do this?
