Money Moral Dilemma: Should I pay to replace the sink I damaged?

There is an old maxim that is often proved right; - "No good turn ever goes unpunished!" Just think how often you have gone out of your way to do someone a good turn, and it turns out that it causes you some serious grief!
I would offer to pay, if it were me.

You offered to help,he didn't ask you,he didn't say he couldn't do it,you voluntered.Do the right thing and replace the sink, even if he asked for your help your still responsible as YOU damaged the sink.

An unfortunate occurrence, I realize, but can you genuinely expect your friend to pay for damage you, and you alone, caused? Pay up and, if your friend is truly a friend, he or she might offer to go halves on the basis that a professional plumber would have charged for the work leaving him or her even more out-of-pocket. Look upon it this way - it's one of those things in life you have to put down to experience, and learn from it.0

I’m surprised you would ask. Of course you should replace it0

Come on...pay up. Don't even think about not doing so
For a start off, even if you do 't feel bad about walking away, the fact that you did so will get around and you'll lose lots of friends.

Pay up...take responsibility0

You were helping, but you still broke it, so, I think you should pay for it, sorry.0

I would be offering to pay, equally I may not accept an offer to pay. A while back a friend who was helping me renovate caused about £50 of damage, he offered to pay and I said no, the help he had provided was worth far more and as I see it I took the risk of going DIY insted of paying a proffesional who I would expect to put damage right.0

I'd offer to pay but only if I could choose the sink to replace it with. What they say costs £70 you could get a sink basin for like £40. Plus you might even be able to get an enamel repair kit for £10 without need to replace the entire sink. Sorted.

If you were helping a friend and not charging them they should do the right thing and pay for sink and themselves
