That’s not helpful about your senior staff member. Is he becoming a saboteur?

Like you said, you know what you need to do and as hard as it is, it’s for the right reasons. Your business was built with him when you were a different in a different place. It’s natural that now it’s evolved, it will need to evolve the staff too.

    Hope you’re ok though.

@alt80 wonderful to see you! If not too intrusive, what are the culture changes at work that your employee doesn't like?  Cultures do change and if it's positive stuff he can't deal with, painful as it may be, you are helping him. Don't blame yourself because if changes benefit the other
staff and the  business overall, that's progress.   Love Humdinger x

Good to hear from you Alt.

Agree that the cost of living rises are now starting to pinch. I wish I could say that the end was in sight for rises but it really isn't. It's only going to get worse!!

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with staff. Only you know what is the best thing to do there. Hopefully you can find a solution.

Keep plugging on. Things will get better.

Nice to hear from you. I am sorry you are not having a great time. I am sure it will come. Yes prices are becoming horrific but this has happened before and we got through it. I remember the time when supermarket staff  were literally changing the prices on the stock and at that time we had a china and gift shop and receievd new price lists at least every 3 months. I am glad we live in a terraced house where my neighbours pay some of our heating cost. :D. We used to have a Victorian house which cost an arm and a leg to run and was never warm.  Try a post note on your sun visor in the car that says check fuel gauge to remind you to fill up before you get on the motorway. I bet you check the EV is charged.

It has been a difficult thing for you to change the culture at work so I think your staff are probably finding iteven more so. For them it is possible almost like having a new boss. Dont stress you know what you need to do and the sooner you do it the shorter the time it will worry you. Prevarication is rarely a good thing in such situations.

Thanks all. We have been lucky with the weather but I’ve not been well enough to enjoy it unfortunately at least taking myself off to bed if no work there’s no harm done lol. Have to at least have some faith things will get better @RelievedSheff I know. Tbh hear about people loving life in recovery I’m just exhausted still, lot of people find new homes/ jobs/ partners whatever and I’m knackered just thinking about getting through day to day life ha.

Anyway, nice to have managed to have made a big dent in the card balances this month, looking at a total of £28.25k - we’d hardly spent any money. That was nice would’ve been buzzing about that a few months back.

Good to hear from you mate, you are doing great.

We also suffering at work with a lot of people seeming to be unhappy at recent changes within the company and we seem to be losing staff quite quickly, which unfortunately is probably going to mean an increase in my workload...YaY. Hope the boy and mrs are doing good too.

Must be something in the water. We are struggling with staff at work as well. Lost 5 of our 9 person team in the last few months with only one replacement found so far who is currently being trained up so not overly productive just yet.

People are expecting daft money to do the job. Completely unrealistic.

Yeah it must be something in the water @RelievedSheff. The worry is the staff we losing are experienced and key members of the engineering as well as senior management so it is really going to make things tough. The recruitment process isn't exactly fast either so expecting a busy few months.
